Love it, it kinda of has an 80's feel or a kinda of Aussie/grunge/popr rock, even kinda of reminds me of the Riptides sort of. Anyway it is great little number that should of got more respect from Aussie Radio Networks, but as usual nah they would rather play some music from any in the world except Oz.
Brilliant.Check out the SBS doco "15 minutes to rock". Shows XTC wasn't the only band to get a shitful deal from their record company.I think it's in pt.5 where Coxy is pleading for $20 a day for tucker.mmmmm...These guys were the loudest band I ever heard in a pub.
This doesn't seem to be Grant's band. Wikipedia says this is an Australian group, which the video seems to support. I thought Morrison's band was The Mixers but CBR says The Fauves. Hmmm....
Sorry guys, this is not the same "The Fauves" you speak of. This video is of Australian indie/pub rock band Fauves. And he sings "aluminium foil" because that`s how we say it in Australia, and indeed the rest of the English speaking world.
It's still funny how you pronounce it. Canadians and Americans say a-loo-min-um. I was doing nothing more than being amused by this- no offense was intended.
No offense was taken mate. Yeah I`ve had many an argument over the correct pronounciation of that one over the years. Fauves, by the way, are one of many great aussie bands not to get a lot of acclaim overseas. Check out a whole stack more if you like it. Interesting there`s another Fauves out there too; seems they`re probably quite different though yeah?
I special ordered Thousand Yard Stare here in the States, as it was the only one that cost less than $40 at the time. I e-mailed the band to voice appreciation, and Cox wrote back with thanks and noted that I was one of two Yanks who owned a Fauves album.

One of our great laconic Aussie bands ... criminally underrated as per usual, as with anything Aussie music wise. Coxy is a ledge!

There's definitely a bald dude in there, but doesn't seem likely that Morrison would be part of that crap.
