theres no video on it i was talking to my uncle and he was showing me pictures on a slide show of it he said it happen to sudeen and there was no way to take a video
who needs a draw bridge operator.. Just close all water tight doors and do the dunk... I wonder if the captain was willing to go down with his tug.. or did he chicken shit out and hi tail it..LOL
This is a slide show of the M/V Cahaba. The bridge is the Old Rooster bridge just BELOW Demopolis Alabama on the Tombigbee River.(it's no longer there). Back in the 70's, Warrior and Gulf Navigation,(the company that owned the Cahaba) Poured concrete in the hulls to act as a ballast. looks like it worked!
I know where that happened, it happened in st chathrines, another boat not to long ago hit that bridgee cuz the operator fell asleep and thought the boat was clear of the bridge XD
@df446 technically speaking a VIDEO is a series of still pictures shown at a high frame rate. Besides I don't think there were a whole lot of video cameras running around in 1974. I for one found this post very interesting as I haven't seen too many tug boats slide under a bride. If you have, then by all means please post a VIDEO...
For the record, this was on the Tombigbee River just above Demopolis, Alabama. Believe this or not, the tug rolled under the bridge and came up on the other side with her diesels still running. This was a long time ago and it is my understanding that captain has now set sail on the eternal seas.
Ohh...thats one I would have loved to seen in person. Ingenious idea, but without the pictures , the stains in everybodys shorts would have been hard to explain .
stupid
