Dyson vacuums are terrible pieces of crap. All plastic, when you break a small part, you can't just replace that small part, you end up replacing something huge. Cannister vacuums are disgusting to empty and clean. I'll admit that Dyson vacuums look cool, but that's about it. They're so heavy to use and outrageously overpriced for a plastic POS made in China.
That Hoovers needs a new belt I can here the brushroll slowing down on the floor because the belt is slipping. Change the Hoovers belt and re do this test I am sure that dc07 will not pick up as much.
If the test had been done in reverse, the outcome would have been similar. I'll bet if they emptied both cleaners and went over the floor again, thet would get dirt in both cleaners regardless if what order it was done.
We own a Dyson, and we are very happy with it, but they are not some miracle machine. There are possibly a dozen brands out there who make cleaners of the same quality.
This video is a salesman's scam,... not to say that they are not a good machine.
@ozzirt Lol!! If you look very closly..They have the floorhead adjustment set to its highst setting on the Hoover. That s keeping the floorhead from sealing to the floor and picking up the deep down dirt.Plus its an old wore out brushroll and I'm sure it has an old half full paper bag.But for them the Dyson is doing better.Haha.The Dc07 was a good machine. The Dc14 was better. Now they have the Dc33 that looks very nice. This test is just good for them only.It doesnt prove anything to anybody else.
Having had Hoover and Dyson I will go with the findings of my wife who says that the Hoover was nothing like as good. Mechanically the Hoover was unreliable, yes it was fixed several times under warrantee but I would now gladly pay double for the Dyson just for the peace of mind.
Like i said, It was a typical salesman's scam, I've seen it all before.
To be honest I would rather have a Nilfisk, than any of them, but it was out of my price range for what i need
@ozzirt Yeah I know what you mean. That trick is a been there and done that trick.Lol!! Dyson's are very reliable. As long as you keep the filters clean and dont abuse them,They will last for much longer than the 5 year warranty! I am trying to save and get theDC33.I just like that model for some reason..But I am a Panasonic Triforce Performance Pus fan myself.Love the Hepa baged vacs.
@panaclean775 Because of where we live, we are limited in our choice by lack of local repair centres, and although i would like to think that they are not going to be needed, i know that if they are it's a real pain in the butt to have to send the cleaner interstate.
I'm trying to steer away from bagged cleaners because of the ongoing costs. For what they are the bags are ridiculously expensive and it's surprising how many you use in the course of a year.
@ozzirt Oh I agree about the cost.No one can argue about that. But,Alot of people will agree that its worth the cost to have the cleanest and most sanitary method of disposing of the filth and dirt from your vac.Bagless no mater what is more of a choire and is dirtier to maintane and keep clean.Including Dyson. My wife has servere allergies to dust so thats why we use the cloth HEPA baged vacuum.9 out of 10 doctors recommend hepa baged vacs for allergy sufferers.Just because they are cleaner.
Your Hoover needs a NEW BELT. It's barely grooming the carpet in places it should. Hoover Elites with a good belt can out clean a Dyson any day!
All of you who think old vacuums don't do well, take a Hoover Convertible and then vacuum with a "new" bagless vacuum. Who won? The Convertible because of it's better beating of the carpet and better air-flow. same with the Elite
Oh wow..1really old worn out Hoover against a brand new Dyson. Not really being fair is it? A new Dyson would smoke an old worn Dyson just the same. That Hoover in its prime would clean just as well no problem.Nothing against the Dyson though.
well oviously its going to win its new technology compared to that old hoover try using 2 vac. from the same period in time, maybee then you will get better results.
I just got the dc28 animal. I can tell you that most of that "dirt" is actually carpet fiber. My carpet is nylon and most of what is in there is nylon fiber. I think it's a great vacuum, but truth be told, it's not all "dirt". One thing I was pleasantly surprised me is that is seemed to be self propelled. Most likely because the brush is "helping it along".
put the hoover on full power to get the most out of it i got one of these hoovers and the differance between dirt picked up is amazing it not a fair test so not valid result dysons are good ive still got a dc02 witch still sucks fine for a machine that was bort when they first came out
anyway i will listen to you when you make the tast valid and fair
If you notice, half of what you picked up were carpet fibers. That Dyson of yours is literally eating your carpet away.... just you know... much more aggressive rotating bristles doesn't necessarily mean cleaner. Just means it'll groom your carpets...
my 1968 Hoover vacuum still runs great after 40 years!...Dyson on the other hand......after about 3-8 years they stop working. If you did a test against any old Hoover from the 1950s through the 70s against a Dyson...the Hoover will win...because of two things power and quality! older Hoovers are made of metal and steel...Dysons are made of plastic. And they are bagless! i hate bagless vacuums! they are so nasty!
You must be kidding, yeah Dyson picked up dust after Old Hoover. But the Hoover is built to last unlike the Dyson plus I'm sure the dyson has a higher wattage! I had a Dyson which gave up the ghost after 12 months! My Hoover from 1960's still clens better than it ever did!
I agree, the Hoover should be brand new to get a proper test done. Plus they should each vaccum a different half of the house. Having one vaccum do the pick-up after the other one loosens up all the dirt and dust isn't fair.
REDO THAT TEST!!!! that wasn't fair at all because that Hoover was as old as the dirt on the carpet I bet you ANYTHING, you buy a brand new Hoover Windtunnel 2 it will kick that Dysons butt and trust me I know it does I've tried it. Put that Dyson against my Riccar and see what happens
this is fytcinc, just using my other channel not only that but the Dyson isn't anything that is is cracked up to be Dyson is possibly the worst designed vacuum I can think of off the top of my head besides Kirby although a Kirby has a tremendous amount of power, it doesn't trap the dirt very well, and you can still get a better deal with a Riccar and it will last just as long :D
Yeah..any new vacuum will pick up whatever your old vacuum left behind. Not a very good comparison. I wanna see a NEW Hoover or Bissell or whatever against a new Dyson. Your "comparison" was completely ignorant.
While their was still drit on the floor after the hoover did you redo it with the dyson? I bet you get dirt again. plus I did not see you using the hoover on the curtins or for that fact using a hoover that was in the same ball park of power and new! Did you open to see how much dirt was in the hoovers bag?
That Hoover was in poor shape

Errm the dyson was originally designed on a hoover u1334 just with a cyclone. So just remember that everytime you use your dyson.
