sounds promising the banjo Tink...I went to a thing the other night, and they had two banjo players, one is Ray Morton...and tho both had different styles , it was quite nice, i videoed it and posted on site ...the group was performing under the name of Delta Blue...also fiddler Jim Brasher was there....check it out...also have you listened to Bella Fleck (you know what perfect pitch is???)

Für zwei Lektionen bist Du aber schon richtig weit damit gekommen - da freu ich mich ja schon drauf, wenn Du so sicher damit bist, dass Du Deine Stücke damit begleiten kannst. Ich hoffe, Du behältst den Spaß dran - Banjos haben für mich immer so was Vergnügtes.

I am very impressed by your new choice of musical instrument. (Does my love for banjo show??) When I first got my banjo, 8 years ago, I bought a bluegrass instructional book and sat in front of the television. During commercial breaks I would play play play (3-4 minutes) then watch my show. At first my picking of the "rolls" sounded very klunky and harsh, but after a few days a light went on & I could hear it in my head. Ever since I just kept going!

My guitar playing needs help, though. grr

Hey Tink ! :), I have a banjo too, because of your video i might even get it out and try to make a video with it, Banjo is a really 'happy' instrument, it cheers you up quickly when your down, great job for only two lessons, you might be the next earl scruggs who know ;)

Stick with it. It can't be all that hard if you're already at this point after completing two lessons. Looking around YouTube, it would appear that the banjo is becoming more popular these days. It would fit nicely with the sorts of songs you seem to do best.
