  • good tutorial but i do not like this new version of fcp

  • Dear Mr. Jordan.

I´m a German guy (30) who has the intention to change pro FCP7 to version X.

Your tutorials are the best I´ve ever seen. Although my English is just school-English I understand nearly everything.

You explain detailed but fast (GREAT!) and you do the very organized.

Thank you very much for your work,

    Alexander

  • I'm running an iMac with only one hd, : 1)why do you not recommend putting your media on the same drive as the boot drive? 2)in respect to your answer to my first question would creating a partition on this drive solve this issue?

  • Larry,

It looks to me like FCP X wants to re-save my imported media to a different location. What if I have already imported my footage to my hard drive (via SD card reader) in a desired folder and that's where I want it to stay? I tend to organize my footage in a structure like this movies>editing>eventname_date>raw.

Is there a way to stop FCP X from copying my footage to a second folder when it's already in the desired location?

  • I remember film strip from my 8 mil days.

  • Hey Larry,

I apologize for my lack of knowledge towards computers, but I was wondering if you could tell me how to create a 2nd/ 3rd drive. I have FCPX and my only option for a place to save something is under Macintosh HD.

    Thanks
