Naruto has very few curbstomp fights.

Good curbstomps involve ridiculous beat downs. Think Hellsing where Alucard fights anything and doesn't kill it fast.

A beatdown needs a prolonged period of time where you're being toyed with or straight out pwned. The longer it goes on, and the bloodier the recipient, the better the curbstomp was.

Not because of that genocide but because it has a very good storyline with good fighting to boot. Well..except in this scene. There are offensive and defensive type claymores, defensive types having higher regenerative powers but it's mostly for regrowing arms or legs or healing from some injuries. In most of the cases shown in this video they wouldn't be able to regenerate since...that was just...you know...

@89RockLee most of them die in that battle... they knew they couldn't win from the start... Rigardo wasn't even the strongest demon around, there were two others more powerful then him near by too. Their tactic on the main part was basically just try and survive, that said Rigardo dies in this battle but not to either of them, one of the women, Claire (the main character) rips him to pieces... rather literally.

@227someguy Claymore's can heal themselves, but it varies on their skill of offensive/defensive, offensive types can only do things like re-attach limbs if the limb is in almost perfect condition, defensive can regenerate wounds, the greatest of them can even nearly instantly regenerate limbs. But suffice to say, those are rare, are certainly noone can survive being cut in half, which is what Rigardo does to most of them. All of the cut in half ones die, and the one with the gut punched out dies

In the original story, Jean, being an offensive type, could not heal the gaping hole in her stomach and was going to die anyway, so she ended up using the last of her youki to pull Claire back from the brink of fully awakening, then died.

Grimmjow wasn't *trying* to knock Ichigo out. Grimmjow's the kind of sadist who likes to play with his food, as it were. He wanted Ichigo to know the difference in power between them and for Ichigo to feel true fear before dying at Grimmjow's hands. Unfortunately...Grimmjow was forced back to Hueco Mundo by his superiors before he could deliver the killing blow.

It allows the villain to be overly powerful without killing the main character, and at the same time allows them to be "serious" when he returns to fight the newly trained hero so it retains its drama.

It's such a tired cop-out cliche for a writer to do, and even more so for the villain to be "Called away" such that he has to leave that very moment, or else...something.

He does the exact same thing during the second fight with the main character.  He doesn't fight Ichigo seriously until the third fight between the two. It's not the scenario you seem to think.

He was called back by his superiors because he had disobeyed orders and gone to the world of the living on his own accord just to fight Ichigo and allowed his Fracciónes to be killed. He was called back to stand trial, which resulted in his discharge from duty and the severing of his arm.

Then again, I won't deny that truly good writers would not stoop to executing a cliche well. They would write something new and original. And let's be honest ... not trying to be a hater but, the creator of Bleach is a horrible writer, that's just how it is ...

If he didn't have to pump out a chapter every week for years at a time he might have had time to actually think about his story and write something original.
