  • Omg when he is trying to shot her, hilarius

  • He does good, I liked Steven Bishops acting more though, dunno why :P hes face was more... hilarious or expresive

  • hmm..

Jacques sings the real version of Varekai's circle?...

i doubt about it...i've been trying to find the exactly version which this guy is singing...i cant find it yet ...somebody help me

  • I believe this version is sung by Nina Simone. This guy is just lip-synching. :-) For recorded versions by Nina, check the Rhapsody (dot) com website. There is also a live version with Nina on Youtube. Just search "Ne Me Quitte Pas Nina Simone".

  • Now I could be wrong here, but I believe this version is sung by Claudio Corneiro, the man performing the act

  • I could be wrong too! LOL! Would really like to know. Please let me know if you ever find out. :-)

  • no because at one point it is more then clear that he lis lip synching.

  • Yes, it's obvious that he's lip synching, because him singing it "live" would interfere with the act.

This doesn't mean he didn't record it, and they use that recording.

In fact, the guy performing the act right now, Steven Bishop, lip syncs to this version, which IMO sounds exactly like Claudio Corneiro

  • It definitely is a recording of Nina Simone singing. I've spoken to people in the show. They've just transposed it to a lower key to make it sound like a man's voice.

  • He is lip synching indeed, I have the Varekai show, but even when it sounds like Nina, it's not :)

  • This is a Jacques Brel song. There's an English version, "If You Go Away"

  • so funny!

  • Does anybody know who is singing this version in this performance ?? or is this actually performed by le cirque??

  • It's sung by Claudio Corneiro, the guy who's also performing the act

  • cool. thanks !!!!

  • @titiosi actually, the song is NOT sung by Corneiro. It's "Ne Me Quitte Pas" performed by Nina Simone. (Yes, I know, Nina Simone is a woman.) I have the song on my iPod. It's the SAME song. In fact, the producers thought the song choice would add to the humor, seeing as that the song is sung by a woman (a rather robust, african-american woman), and was being performed (lipsynced) by a skinny, nerdy, white dude. << Note, this is no negativity on races. It's just using opposites for humor.

    =^-^=

  • @A13XMAR5 in this version its sung by corneiro, but the song is made by jaques brelles :)

  • LOVE THIS SONG OMG!

  • I have seen it live yesterday in vienna! great show unfortunatly Claudio doesn't do his act anymore now it's steven bishop, he was good as well but claudio is the best!

  • I saw this live =D loved it

  • Es estupendo... This is a great job!!! congratulacions...

  • Actually, the english title of this song is "If you go away"

  • No it isn't. The song title's literal translation means 'Don't leave me'

The people who covered it, I believe Jaques Brel did it as well, then changed it in to 'If you go away. However, the literal translation of 'ne me quitte pas' is 'don't leave me'.

This obviously works a lot better with the act

  • Jaques Brel "covered" it? He is the author, isn't he?

(Hopelijk xD)
