  • DAS WAS TA OTAKON IS SO FUNNY I NO WHO I GOING 2 CALL

  • woooooooowwwwwww!!!!!! gud work 'madame'!!

  • only 33,128 views!!! This needs to be 33,128,000 C: Great job! Bravo! Encore! Encore!

  • 6 People don't like ghostbusters or FF7

  • omg, this vid was funny. I liked it. Flawless editing. Thx fo posting =D

  • You sir, just made my week.

  • @Pooont

That would be "you, madame, just made my week," but you're very welcome either way. :)

  • @Driftroot My mistake! You, madame, just made my week... and are officially the coolest chick I know of =)

  • @Pooont Yay, cool chick! :)

  • You hardly need one more puny award among more outstanding ones, but for what it's worth, this was video #1 on my list of ten best Final Fantasy fanvids ever. :)

Google "Ten Amazing Final Fantasy AMVs" for the whole set.

  • @auronlu

    Really? Cool, thanks! :D

  • I don't know why, but when I saw "We ain't afraid! Of proper English?" I lost it. This was way too much fun.

  • Every once in a while, I just have to come watch this again for a laugh. I always laugh somewhere, no matter how many times I see it.

    BEST. AMV. EVER.

And that's beating the Auron/Unknown Soldier AMV, which rocks.

  • cloud saying he aint scared was hilarious

  • LOL I LOVE IT xD

  • Omg! that was amazing!!!

  • This video could actually have trivia. Like, where does the Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man show up? Which Gackt clone is featured? How many NPCs were killed by strange weather patterns? What comes in adult sizes?

    Yes, yes, I just had to go through it with the pause-button. O.o;;

  • Wow! I never thought I'd see FF VII cross with Ghostbusters and actually work. =3

  • We came, we saw we kicked his ass -Reno

    Thats so...Reno....LOL

  • Hahah...I love this video. It deserves every award it's earned! Amazing work!

  • ZOMG! That was so awesome! Nice work syncing the words too.

  • ha ha ha ha! xD I loved it

  • Reno: We came, we saw, we kicked it's ASS!!!!!

  • 2:09 Cloud ain't fraid of no ghost

  • this just made my life LMAO

  • Those magazines are pure genius! The credits were brilliant. LOL funneh...

  • this is amazing work..amaaaaaaaaaaaaazing

  • And lemme add one more thing. sorry for multi-posting... I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE TEXT IN THE NEWSPAPER. About fangirls and stuff. LOL! it is really the angst.

  • See, that's why I took such great glee in putting this video together, because there's people out there who get a kick out of rummaging through it to find stuff like that. :)

If you haven't already seen it, there is an image gallery available of all the custom graphics in this video - just visit the link in the info section and follow another link to the gallery.

    Oh, and...multi-posting GOOD. *thumbs up*

  • yeah. I searched for this video on the AMV website. the image gallery came up. I loved it even more up close. HAH! My sister's obssessed with this vid after i showed her.

  • Obsessed? Cool! LOL That's a first!

  • I'm obsessed too! The "cross the streams" refrence was the best as well as Reno saying in the interview "We came, we saw, we kicked it's ass". I also loved the first headline, with the "DESTROYER".

  • I can't take tons of credit for the stream reference - it's the one and only thing in this AMV that didn't come wholly from my own gray matter. I had wanted to include something along those lines and asked a fellow editor if they had any ideas how to do so - "Don't cross the lifestream" was what they came up with and I immediately knew it was perfect. :)

  • @Driftroot Thank you. It was those brilliant newspaper spoofs that made me have to concede this is even better than Unknown Solider -- it's the only AMV where you have to use the pausebutton to enjoy it even more. And oh, I think I may need one of those for a desktop background. *goes to look*

  • If you're hankering for a closer look and something to keep on your desktop, I did put up an image gallery of many of the special additions to this video. Just visit the link provided in the video description to find the link to this gallery.

And, as always, you're welcome for making this video!! Nothing makes me happier than to know it's out there, doing what it was made to do: entertain!

  • btw. I love those magazine covers.

  • AWESOME

  • saw this at AVCON Was so awesome!

  • This video is made of pure win! xD Great choice of song and scenes and you know ... they do look like Ghostbusters spin-offs here lol.

  • Drift, saw this recently at expo a couple days ago i approve of this video 100%, hope to see more entries from ya

  • They showed it at AX? Cool! When did they show it?

  • Uhhh, during the AMV contest, shit was bumpin XD

  • Ah...ok. I almost never know 'Bustin has been played somewhere until someone leaves a comment saying they've seen it. The only cons I've ever personally sent it to were the five competitions it was in last year, but a lot of folks tend to assume I've sent it to many more b/c it's been screened other places. Thus, it's all news to me when 'Bustin is shown somewhere and I have to ask where you saw it and in what context. :)

And you did mean AX by "expo," right?

  • Great amv, but I'm not sure how it would hold up to the amv winners of the Japan Expo in France.

  • -dies of laughter and amazingness-

    EPIC x'D 5/5

  • amazing job!! faves =]

  • I was in the audience at AB '08 when this was shown, and man was it awesome. This was an easy win for the AMV contest that year.

  • Will you be making a remix/remake of this now that the Blu-Ray version that adds something like 30min of footage is out?

  • No - for a lot of reasons - and if I were to do a remake, I would only use the "complete" version of AC if I felt it contributed significantly to the end product, which at this point I do not feel it would.

  • N/P

I love the video as it is. I remember this quite well as I and two of my friends at Sakuracon literally fell out of the line of chairs howling at this.

  • That must have been some screening - I recall hearing the Best of Show /Comedy winner inspired howling and empty seats as well. I would have loved to have seen all of that! :)

  • It's terrible.

Why mix Ghostbusters with Japanese cartoons?

  • Yes, that's what Cloud & Co. said as well when I informed them that I was going to ruin their little party by delving into my Hits of the 80's CD collection. They were like "Hey! We're cool Japanese icons of angst, you can't DO that to us! It's just so wrong!" and I was like "YEAH, it IS wrong, that's why I'm going to do it!"

And they're not "cartoons," they're CG video game spinoffs. :P

  • Pspimp -

Considering it had every screening of it at the cons it was entered at literally howling with laughter (including people from SquareEnix itself in the audience watching)...

    STFU you stupid troll.

  • No, I will not "STFU" because I am not a troll. I figured the bigoted freaks at Square Enix would laugh, they'd laugh at anything.

  • k guys, that's enough. This is not the first and will not be the last time someone has had something less than positive to say about my video, which is perfectly fine since everyone's entitled to their own opinion...just don't start coming down on people FOR sharing their opinion.

  • Win. xD

  • YES. FUCK YES.

FUCK YES WITH GRAVY ON TOP>

Here, have some internets, love. You are well deserving of them.

  • O>O

    Oh.

    My.

    Gods.

    That was...

    brilliant.

I think I hurt something laughing.

  • Breaking news: Bustin' makes you feel good

  • STATE OF-THE-ART EQUIPMENT! lol genious!!!

  • I never thought about how well this song fits with the movie. :/ *Tsk tsk tsk.*

  • *wave*

  • *wave* :D

  • agreed with Joey =P

It's hard as it is to make a original AC video, but to do it with this song O,O.

    Good stuff Driftroot =)

  • God I still love this video. I still get the same reaction everytime I watch it. "Oh god...no she didn't.....FUCK YES SHE DID! AND IT WORKS!"

    Goodtimes.

  • And the best part is you've got my gender right. LOL

  • Brilliant! :D

  • COOL! i saw this at the anime expo amv contest i luv it <3 the best amv i ever saw 5/5*

  • haha this has officially made my daY!! amazing 5/5!! XP

  • My friend and I saw this at Tekko and were absolutely blown away by the level of awesome. Totally deserved best in show :3!!

    Freakin' 5/5, brah.

    xDDD

  • I know this has been repeated already but truly NOTHING BUT THE MOST WIN EVER!!! YOU WIN ALL OF THE INTERNETS!!! That was my public service message...

  • This video was made of 100% pure win.

  • OMG, this is awesome! XDDD

  • Wow, this is fantastic!!!!

  • You must make more AMVs! plzzzzz

  • I have made other AMVs, although none on quite this scale. At the moment this is also the only one I've put on YouTube. My other videos can be found by visiting the site (animemusicvideos...) mentioned in the info section to the right. :)

  • Awesome! I love this video! :3

  • This. Is. Genius!

  • YOU ... ARE.... A ....GOD.....

wow... awesome... now i gotta watch this anime.... 200 hours... holy crap... ummm did you get laid for this project? because you should

  • Actually, that would be goddess. I am woman, hear me rawr. ^_^

  • Oh, Im sorry your holyness forgive me...

    *Bows to the greater Being*

  • Dude, how long did this take, cuz this is AWESOME!!!

Also, the most AC-related puns in a song EVER.

  • Thanks for all the kudos, everyone! To address the overall question of how long it took me to make this, that would be more than 200 hours. To put it in perspective, though, about 30 seconds worth of video took me more than 100 hours to make and overall this thing is just over 4 minutes long. Visit this video's full description (link is in the Info section on right) for the nitty gritty. :)

  • This is quite possibly the most amazing Advent Children amv I have ever seen. You sir, win the internet.

  • This must of at least took 201 hours of editing ;)

  • Great video

  • lol this was hilarious

  • 5 out of 5 really well done

i only have 1 gripe....could be in HD???

  • AC's not in HD (not yet, anyways). Best quality available online can be downloaded via the link in the info section.

  • Every week at my club "Fantasy Guild" I share a youtube clip of the week...and I think I just found my clip for next week. This is BLEEPing awesome!

  • Yeah I remember seeing this at the con! I couldn't believe it! Right in my own town!! You did a very good job! Were you present for the showing of this AMV?

  • The only time I ever saw my AMV on the big screen was when it was shown at Anime Boston 2008. :)

  • ahhhhahahaaa! Wow, man; the awards given for this are well deserved. Awesome idea! :]

  • omg, this was just freakin hilarious! i have never thought about it that way. cloud, i can totally understand about your sword. wow, just amazing.

  • 5/5 great video, very well done, love it

  • LOL 2:48 theres the sword on his mouth!! nice and very "original"

  • I love it! Kyaaaa! Reno-kun was amazing! Good job!

  • that's waaay creative

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOL xD AWESOME!!!!! xD

  • Awesome! O___O

  • I think I'm gonna need a bigger sword.

    XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

    Pure genius!

  • That was absolute GENIUS. Albert Einstein bows to your power!!!

  • I laughed pretty hard when i saw this

  • 'We came, we saw, we KICKED ITS ASS!' - really seems like something Reno would say xD

That's just a masterpiece XD I am officially calling myself your worshipper. 5/5!

  • AMAZING. You guys are obviously talented. Keep up the good work!

  • You GUYS? I'm just one girl! LOL

  • Whoops.. sorry! I don't check people's youtube profiles. Either way though, nicely done video.

  • It's ok, most people assume I'm a guy, but that was the first time I've been called more than one! :D Glad you liked the AMV. I'm hoping to make another AC spoof-ish video this year...but we'll see.

  • what a girl! :D

  • Hahaha ;D Awesome

  • Oh gawd. This video is so amazing 8D

I managed to catch this in the AMV room at Tekko '08. My friends and I sat down and started to sing and laugh our asses off while people around us either stared or sang along XD

I voted for Comedy and Overall and I'm glad to see you won in both >3

  • Thanks for enjoying yourselves (and the votes!). I wish I could have been there to see it, it's a lot of fun with a crowd around. :D

  • That was so amazing! loved the news flashes! 5/5 + fav! laugh a minute :)

Can i ask where you got the advent children clips from?

  • Glad you liked it! It's nice to know it's still entertaining folks after being out for awhile. :D

I'm not sure what you mean by the AC clips. All the FF7 video/images in the AMV (except for Sephiroth's NY Post cover and Cloud's phone ad) were taken from either AC itself or the Dirge of Cerberus FMVs.

  • kay thanks anyway! :)

  • I love it!

    5/5 + Favorited!

  • all of us backstage were singing along and dancing to this during the masq

and during the contest, my sis and i were singing and dancing in our chairs

    i loved this amv

    too funny!!

  • Was that at AB? I've heard a lot of dancing goes on when something fun is shown during the masquerade. Maybe some year they'll pan the audience/backstage when everyone is really getting into an AMV. That would be hilarious. :D

  • yeah it was at anime boston we were all dancing. it was during the intermission while the judges were making the descision to the skits.

  • ... I am not worthy... (yes, this means "great job")

  • lol i just diled the number and i got an atimatic message telling me to call another number.

  • rotflol. the fake magazine covers are great

  • *Just called that number and said "Hello is ghostbusters there" WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP CALLING ME MY NAME IS NOT BUSTER ITS ERMA!! ERMA!!! (seriously that just happened)

  • I wonder how many people called that number (i know i did)

  • In retrospect, I somewhat regret using an actual number. The numbers stand for something, but most people don't pay close enough attention or bother to figure out what, so I suspect that - as one of the most obscure in-jokes in this entire AMV - it is actually TOO obscure to even be found amusing. And even if someone figures out what the numbers mean, they probably still won't get it the way I intended. Oh well.

    Hope that was a toll-free call. :)

  • lol true anyways..awesome vid hope to see more of these in the future GL in your work ^^

  • I saw it at AX 08' it was awesome there!

  • That man was...kick ass awesome!

  • Another one here who saw it at Youmacon, and was just blown away. Well done!

  • I thought I'd misread that first Youmacon post down there when "Top AMVs" panel was mentioned, but I guess I didn't since other people are confirming that's the panel 'Bustin was shown at. LOL Thanks for letting me know, guys, it's great to hear that people are enjoying this video.

Anyone know what other AMVs were on that list? I haven't seen anything posted at the Youmacon forums, yet.

  • Thanks to MPHtails for the video listing. It looks like there was quite a variety of videos shown. :)

  • this made the top ten at youmacon!

way to rock my socks off!

  • They played this at the Top AMVs panel at Youmacon Friday, and this was the one video we all remembered after the con was over. Instant classic.

  • Really? Youmacon, huh? Thanks for letting me know!! I usually find out secondhand that it's been shown at a con...and usually by someone who posts a comment here, so I really appreciate any and all feedback "from the field." (Otherwise I have no idea what my AMV is up to, out there, and I kind of like to know).

I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

  • its probably been said to death, but the mouth covering at 2:47 just draws more attention to the lip flap...love this vid, i voted for you at anime boston 08!

  • ^_^ Thanks!

    Few things here:

    1. I meant to draw attention to it (see #3 below).

    2. Almost no one comments on it, but those who do either think it's perfect or incredibly stupid.

    3. It's neither perfect or stupid in my book, b/c I failed to notice Yazoo was speaking in that scene until zero hour and this was just my kneejerk reaction. A big part of my goal with 'Bustin was undermining or making fun of AC AMV stereotypes, and since the lip flap issue is one of those, that's how 2:47 ties in.

  • OMG HECK YES.

  • Pure brilliance! So glad I stumbled upon this :D x

  • Amazing vid! Funny, and well-done and it made sense (for a given value of sense...) Definitely one of the best.

  • Oh my god, this was absolutely brilliant.

  • Wow! Great vid. I'd love to get my hands on the video editing program this was made with!

  • Most of the "effects" in this video are just straightforward editing techniques taken to an extreme level, and in that respect most video editing programs can duplicate them (not WMM, thoguh). Try it yourself. :) The editor I used was Premiere Pro. After Effects was used only for the masking on the cell phone scene.

  • Any AMV creators who would like to enter N00B Con's AMV contest for a chance to win prizes contact me on my page.

  • ha cool amv and wow it was at germany you must be proud

  • Yeah, although I still don't know how it jumped the pond and wound up in Europe. It's a little tricky to be proud of something you bear no responsibility for. :)

  • :) yea it i know what you mean, but you're responsible for the amv do you do have that and it would be cool to see how it got to germany in the first place

  • Most likely someone downloaded it, but the video (as I understand it) also is part of an offline database that includes the high-quality video sent to Tekkoshocon, so that's also a possibility. There are a few different versions of this AMV out there with subtle differences in content, so I'm always curious as to which - exactly - was shown. It's kind of funny, I can track down the video's origins by evaluating what version it is (I never planned this, it just turned out that way). :)

  • thats cool, but i hope they give you credit if they play it so far away. i mean you deserve it

  • Well that's the problem when I don't even know it's being shown somewhere - I have no idea HOW it's being shown. I'd really only take issue with that if someone else was taking credit for making my video, but - given the fact that you can find it on the Web fairly easily under my name - that's not likely to happen *KNOCKS ON WOOD*.

  • I laughed so hard to this at Tekko xD

  • It would have been hilarious if you could have had them busting Aeris' ghost...

  • I know it was at Anime Boston this year, and it rocked! Getting to see it was amazing! Its inspiring me to make my own for AB09, even though Im only doing mine on windows movie maker.

  • That's great! I spent many years in awe of the AMV competition at AB - I thought it would be absolutely awesome to be part of that sort of event. 'Bustin was pretty much made exclusively with that goal in mind. Getting into the finals and seeing it at the con, plus winning an award, was quite mind boggling, but I guess it just goes to show that if you work really hard at something, it can pay off. :) Good luck with your video!

  • Thank you much! I really want to see mine on the screen at Ab '09 It would make me feel like I can acomplish something!

  • oh man. this was great. has anyone noticed cloud pinching barret's cheek on 3:16 before dropping him down?

  • nice amv

    I love 2:07-2:20 LOLz

BTW: What software did you use???

  • I used Premiere Pro and After Effects for the video editing. All the graphics and things were done in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop (in that order - this is not a Photoshop-intensive AMV). :)

  • 1 of the best AMVs ever. i never get bored of this. Great job m8

  • bitchin

  • 10000/10000 awesome!

  • I saw this AMV at Animagic in Germany, this was definitely may favourite out of all! XD I'm so glad I found it again ^__^

  • Whoa...it was in Germany?? LOL It's always surprising when I learn it's been shown somewhere I had no idea it was. My AMV gets around a heck of a lot more than I do, that's for sure. :)

  • Yeah! It was in Germany! I'm guessing then that you didn't enter it yourself...? haha, it sure is popular then XD

  • The only competitions/cons I've sent 'Bustin to are the five listed here. I know it's been shown (with and without my knowledge) at other events, though, and probably will again in the future. (I really wish people would ask permission to screen it, or at the very least let me know it will be/was screened. It's very hard to keep track of, otherwise.)

Was 'Bustin part of the AMV competition at Animagic or just part of a general AMV showing? If it's the former, then that's a big problem.

  • Oh, it was just at the AMV showing. As far as I know, there are no AMV competitions at Animagic. Yeah, it would be annoying to have your AMV shown without you knowing. If I see it again, I'll tell ya ^___^

  • Phew, ok, that's good. :)

  • OMG!! Unbelievable , love it 100/100

    The idea was amazing

  • Dogs and cats living together! MASS HYSTERIA!

  • Bloody Funny!

  • *Clap*Clap*Clap*Clap* Wow dunno where to start. but that was absolute 100% class m8. very well done. great editing!!!

  • Wow! very very nice job on this amv so creative its unbelievable. =P

  • wow lol tehe

  • omg!!!! sooooo EPIC!!!!!!!!!

  • Man this AMV was too much I luaghed at AX so hard!

  • this video is made of epic win

i loved how when it first played & Sephiroth appeared & my friends & i were thinking how this was comedy & then the ghost busters music starting

we couldnt stop laughing throughout the whole thing

most of all it seemed different then other comedy amvs & it was very cool to see a comedy amv take a new approach
