Ha Ha I laugh harder now because now in it's natural state when shampooed , and gelled I have the curl with the S. I guess I did not need the gerri curl or the relaxer after all. @hollyroses...I'm not surprised when i hear that..I know chicks that get relaxers and go to the salon every week to get a wash and set, they don't even know how to do their relaxed hair. They would rather put a hat or scarft on when it's not looking right instead of washing and styling it themselves. It's a shame.

some1 wants 2 get a perm, thats their perogative, whats SICKENING is that I hear the excuse "I dont know how 2 do my natural hair" UR 22 & DONT KNOW HOW 2 DO THE HAIR THATS BEEN GROWIN OUT OF UR HEAD UR WHOLE LIFE!? When I was old enough 2 do my own hair I said no 2 perms it just didnt seem right. As a culture its really sad that so many women would rather alter their hair texture & idc what any1 says if some1 refuses 2 do their natural hair its gotta b bc they dont find it attractive

@hollyroses agree about all u said up until you said someone finds it unattractive. I think natural hair is gorgeous and so do a lot of ladies. Whether or not to rock pin straight hair or natural is simply a preference.

lol I find it BEAUTIFUL! But I think preference is based on what u think looks good on u, what a person finds attractive. My preferences whether it b clothes, hair, jewelry is bc I find it attractive. I dont like 2 wear drk green bc I think its ugly. It would b contradictory 2 say "drk green is a beautiful color but I dont wanna wear it". Cause anything u find beautiful u would want, esp if it comes naturally 2 u

@MrDarthJerk No it would not be contradictory for you to say that. There is a difference between thinking something looks good on you and finding it beautiful. Haven't you ever seen a nice top or dress that was cute but you wouldn't wear it because it wasn't really your style? The same thing with natural hair.

@hollyroses any room for rare exceptions? lol. i refuse to do it because after being six years natural i had to give up and just stop trying. i'm not talented like that and i was loosing my beautiful naps due to wrong styling. i still am natural but i do have to have help styling my hair. had the same issues even when i was relaxed and trying to style it...i'm one of those who really can't and can say so because i have tried...but no perms for me.

I agree with you. There is nothing wrong with wearing weaves just watch how much you wear them. Also grow your own hair long. Ha Ha I laugh harder now because now in it's natural state when shampooed , and gelled I have the curl with the S. I guess I did not need the gerri curl or the relaxer after all. So in this game called life it's every woman for herself. As for everyone else, well ahem your on your own. It's survival of the prettiest. May the best Curl win. So wake up, I did. ha ha.

I guess he was right because now that it is getting longer I have tiny defined kinky spiral curls that love moisture. It's so funny because when I was in high school another african-american dude said (when my hair was in a gerri curl) that my hair had the s without the curl.

and i don't see the problem with this commercial. it's no different from the commercials with the relaxed hair women handing a box of relaxer to someone with unruly and unrelaxed hair. and them swinging their newly bouncy hair around. so if the purpose is to promote the beauty of natural hair, then the commercial has done it's job.

the natural styles in this video are absolutely stunning. and as far as bashing is concerned, everyone has done their fair share. naturals have been bashed, jheri curl wearers have been bashed, and even relaxed wearers have been bashed for having roots and needing a touch up. someone is always going to have something negative to say no matter what. so live for yourself and for no one else because you can't please people. you will surely die , or go bald, trying.
