  • Too be honest, Who the fuck uses a compute routside

  • got ask you brov , is your neighbours or neighborhood safe TRUST ,

  • glossy screens shouldn't even exist and it's annoying that they do, it's the worst thing man has invented for displays, get matte always for color accuracy and no glare. seriously, what's the point in having the most accurate display panels on the market if you're going to fuck it up by making them glossy, fuck you apple!

  • im not buying a macbook pro, but i have a question. we all know that the glossy one has glass, but does the matte one use the same material or is it just a completely different kind?

  • The glossy screen can be use as mirror when you are watching porn to avoid your mom...

  • i prefer the glossy cause you can see your face in it and that comes in handy for me !! XD

  • Macbook screens are horrible.

  • @kjelltp Sorry but YOU are horrible...How can you say that ...Best laptop and desktop screens EVER

  • I like the matte screen on my 15 inch 2011 mac book pro.

  • Very good video! I'd go for a matte screen but unfortunately it's very rare at resellers. Doing stock photography post production so I'm gonna buy an extra desktop display(cinema or dell)

  • i like to game on my laptop outside in the summer time which is almost impossible with glossy.. so matt all the way

  • I have a 21.5 iMac so don't have a choice when it comes to glossy or antiglare. I do like the glossy display of my iMac as i really like the picture detail of it, as with an antiglare display i think that colours look washed out. The only time my screen glares is when the sun is shining in my window or if i'm watching a movie and the scenes are shot in low light.

  • stick with your title! stop switching back to your goofy face. anyways i like matte

  • Why do you have an American flag in your room?

  • O my goodness I love switchfoot!!!

The matte screen doesn't have any protection, but on the other one it has glass. Idk.

  • glossy for me

  • Fuck all you haters on here who are talking shit about the flag!!!

  • we want close up pictures of both!

  • how much does the 3m matte costs ? thanks

  • This review was ruined by that shite flag hanging on the wall behind you.

  • i like glossy it looks better much shinier and the bad part is it leaves some finger prints :/ but thats why you use a cleaning cloth :)

  • Which screen type will better resist spooge if I accidentally happen to get it on the screen?

  • I DO LOVE SCREENS.

  • so obviously you are looking to get a macbook pro... you can get a free macbook pro if you are thinking of buying one, FJ is a website that uses the comission paid to them by advertisers to pay for your chosen gift! The shipping is also free of charge!

this is the link you will need:

    apple(.)freebiejeebies(.)co(.)uk/266551 (remove brackets)

  • A matte display is harder to clean right?

  • But glossy is more beautiful.

  • I like the large American flag in the background.

    Just kidding. It's shite.

  • @Benjomatic Why so Mad?

  • @jakervs Why? Because I've GOT TO BABY!!!!

  • "doing the computer with"

  • which is beat for watchin' porn!??

  • @SAMAHAWK251 glossy ;)

  • @SAMAHAWK251 I would say matte screen because you dont see your reflection while masturbating, suddenly realizing how sad your life is.

  • @SAMAHAWK251 Its easier to clean your jizz off from glossy display xD

  • @SAMAHAWK251 Probably gloss...You know why... :P

  • Just get an anti-glare film. Its only $20. You dont pay apples big prices and if you dont like it you can always remove it. Problem solved.

  • You are Handsome!!!!!!!!!!

  • glossy looks a lot better, i dont know which one is better to work on though....

  • maybe next you can demonstrate which screen withstands projectile impacts better

  • hey

i want to request u for a vid about top 5 or 10 audio recorder software, i mean gettin from internet, not like u know buying recorder

  • hey

i want to request u for a vid about top 5 or 10 audio recorder software, i mean gettin from internet, not like u know buying recorder

  • its not about look its for using the macbook outside

  • thanks for the video,

  • i'm am starting college next year in graphic design, i was looking at the 15" Macbook pro but don't know with screen i should get? any help ?

  • @frankymasino

Hey man, I've been in the same exact predicament myself. I would suggest going with the anti-glare display especially since you're doing graphic design because the colors will be far more accurate. The glossy display saturates colors more and the reflections will become a distraction when you're trying to do design-intensive work. Just my two cents. If you're still unsure, go to an Apple Store and compare both screens for yourself. Hope this helps make your decision easier!

  • @MattBertramMovies thanks man it sure did! but just to make sure il be going to the apple store thanks for the reply.

  • Wow man, you're so cute !!! Greetings from Mexico

I'llget my new macbbok pro with a 2.3Ghz Prcesso as 8 GB RAM next week and iwll upload my unboxng version and performance review

    david....

  • who the hell works outside now :)

  • what was the max resolution of the mack book pro 17 inch, back in 2009

  • Thanks for the video. I was leaning towards glossy and now I'm convinced it would best suit my preferences. If a situation arises where the glare becomes a problem I can always pop on an accessory AG screen. If I was to buy the laptop with the AG already installed, there's no way I can do the reverse to display a glossy-like image.

  • Thanks for the video, you've helped me make up my mind - matte all the way, cheers

  • the your video are very interesting...thank you

  • What song did you use at the end?

  • Very nice and clear comparison. Thank You!

  • Mat for outside glossy for inside. If youre working in the sun, then you WANT mat.

  • @imbonkerz100 in english, (U.K.) spelled that way

  • I almost crapped myself when the music kicked in - its much louder than your voice!

  • i know this is an old video, but do you know anything about pixels when covering the glossy screen with a matte film and getting a custom ordered mbp with anti glare screen? is it essentially the same matte finish with the film over a glossy screen and ordering a matte screen mbp from apple?

    cheers!

  • nice intro

  • Comment removed

  • glossy cuz thats the one i have :p

  • i love the glossy display better it is sooooo much richer in color

  • My macbook pro has a matte screen, pictures and videos look so much better. and the fingerprints or non existence.

  • @tazerboy93swe why?

  • @UroborosComplex 1. hate the way that i can´t play any games i like

    2. hate that i have to pay for things that in my mind should be included

    3. it´s to graphic demanding

  • what does he do for a living

    ?

  • enjoyed the dnb at the end of this video! haha

    what tune?

  • which would you recommend, im getting a MBP for college and I intend to use my laptop wherever I go. Should I get the Matte, or the Glossy? I am getting the hi-res regardless.

  • @TheJordan888888

I have had both luckely in Germany you can send it back without restocking fee within 14 days.

The glossy is so awfull, i already have a xps m1530 with glossy display.Just to much gloss on the macbook its driving me insane. If you life in a basement id get the glossy otherwise take matte.

  • hi there, you said that the GLOSSY screen doesn't hurt your eyes and it produces no eye strain. From my 10 minutes research, I've found out that people say that glossy screens produce eye strain and hurt your eyes and it is the MATTE one that doesn't give eye strain and doesn't hurt your eyes. So which is it ?

    Thanks in advance

  • 4:10 switchfoot is the best band ever!!

  • where can i find the wallpeper from the macBook Pro 17" ?? it´s nice!

  • @Kampfdackel1994 randomwalls(dot)com/images/Incredible.jpg

  • @xmediaproduction from the macBook Pro, not from the cinema display..:)

  • @Kampfdackel1994 You cant find it its an apple mac offical wall paper you cant find it on the internet unless your looking at a mac apple laptop

  • @ak47killr I have a macBook, with snow leopard, but i cant find the wallpaper! -.-

  • @Kampfdackel1994 In the wallpaper settings go to the Nature Folder and it's in the 4th row

  • Great Video!

    Great Intro!

    Great Wallpeper (Cinema Display)!

    Good Job!!

  • I personally think the glossy display looks much nicer!

  • You know you house probably looks very advertising to burglars. There's a bloody 27" cinema display in the window!

  • @Legofan78 only needs to worry about it if he lives in liverpool lol. anywhere else i dont think its THAT much of a worry.

  • @Legofan78 Believe it or not, some people actually live in safe neighborhoods.

  • nice review man

  • same wallpaper :D

  • I dont know what to buy, im a professional programmer and designer, what's better for me? Matte or Glossy?

  • You can't afford Macbook? Check out offer at macbook7 . com Go and get yours

    Liked it

  • Help i need a new mac as my current one is failing now I am doing photography and I dont now what type I should get cos I tend to do work out side in the sun light but i dont under stand what glossy dose can some one help me.

  • do you actually see a difference in the picture quality or just the colors?

  • I just got a MBP 2.4 i5 with a matte HD screen. I couldn't stand to have glare but was considering glossy because of the $130 extra for a matte upgrade. But I am really happy, the HD in the matte is awesome! Everything is clear and bright, it's absolutely perfect. I play a decent amount of games and it seriously looks amazing. Plus the silver bezel looks really unique.

  • "i'm not being biased, i'm not judging - I do prefer BOTH"... well that settles that then...

  • Such bad english. Its not possible to prefer both. mitch625, I'm sure you meant to say you prefer neither!!

    You like both!

Just a little english lesson for you.

  • @reddekuil No, he prefers both.

  • @DmytroRyzhkov

    Definition of the word; prefer

    pre·fer/priˈfər/Verb

    1. Like (one thing or person) better than another or others; tend to choose: "I prefer Venice to Rome".

So yes, like I said before, he PREFERS neither screen. He LIKES both of them for different reasons!!

    I thank you!

  • @reddekuil NO, you misunderstand. He is saying that he prefers both to the other screens on the market.

  • @kiemul136 The Dell Ulra Sharp screens are a lot better then those two the apple screens are not the best screens out there.

  • @TheMrDisser I agree, though I still prefer the Macbooks.

  • @kiemul136 You must be insane but before I insult you further I have to say you probably have never seen a Dell Ultra Sharp live. The Macbooks screen is even more terrible than the Cinema Display. Apples screens are just bright but the image quality is terrible as well as the response time as well as the color space.

  • @TheMrDisser NO, I'm not saying I prefer the Macbook's screen to the Dell Ultra Sharp's screen; I mean there's no denying which is better. I just prefer Macbooks (design, feel, operating system etc).

P.S. This is a non bias assessment: my primary computer is a Dell!

  • @c7uk

    my thoughts excatly lol

  • Glossy.... matts are ugly. XD

  • @key00992233 true

  • have you ever saw black men running down the street with MBP may be yours- never use laptop outdoor- so fuk matte- instead buy matte screen protector around for $30

  • Great review, I think I'm going to go for the glossy, because I don't feel the need to pay $50 extra. I also do like the aesthetics of the actual screen itself.

I'm getting a screen protector anyway, so I might as well get a Power Support anti-glare film.

Oh, and just curious here, but your accent hails you as Australian, and yet you have an American flag up on your wall... Why is that so?

  • @BreakneckWalrus lol his accent isnt ausi...its english...

  • I want to buy a Macbook Pro but I can't decide between glossy and matte. I know you said matte is better for Final Cut, but i'm a student and i'm not getting paid for video stuff yet, and i just started college. Should I get a glossy and just upgrade in a few years?

  • Thanks, helped reaffirm the fact I will go glossy!

  • Move your computers from the window!

  • @WhatPixelYouOn Why? I have a matt screen, and I don't have to worry about reflections ;)

  • @JamieZarr lol that's not what I meant, they're on show for the eyes of thieves! I'd not dare put them near a window... :(

  • @WhatPixelYouOn oh, ok then...

  • if you still want the black besel and dont want to pay 53 bucks for a matte screen just get a matte screen protector

  • if you still want the black besel and dont want to pay 53 bucks for a matte screen just get a matte screen protector

  • no point paying like £50 extra for matte screen when you can just get a anti glare screen shield for about £10 which you can just take off when ever you want :D

  • no point paying like £50 extra for matte screen when you can just get a anti glare screen shield for about £10 which you can just take off when ever your want :D

  • lol mate you act like your are an expert!

The Cinema display is a LED backlit IPS panel ... way better colour gamut.

If you want it matt ... just get some suction cups n pull the glass off ... presto!

Matt or gloss will suck outdoors .... matt only deflects and distorts so the reflection isn't as crisp and defined.

Using a spectrometer is the best way to improve your colour correction.

  • the solution: dont work outside. if your outside u shouldnt be using a computer anyway, enjoy the outdoors while we still have it....

  • common misconception: matte is not better for use outside. Outside, NEITHER displays are really comfortable to use. Matte colors are not more "accurate" either. When Apple had all matte laptops, people wanted glossy to "use outside." And now they're saying vice versa. This just shows how people don't know what they're talking about and are just sheep following the flock.

  • it pains me to see ur macbook pro on the ground.

  • @jjangchoo rofl

  • The matte screen on the Macbook Pro is a TN panel, which will produce far less accurate colour than that of the Cinema Display.

Whether it's matte or not is immaterial, that's not the primary factor for colour accuracy.

  • Comment removed

  • Why would colour be more accurate on matte screens?

Apple's cinema display got a DeltaE ariund 1 wich seems pretty excellent for out of the box colours.

i'd be interested in your awnser, i am in highschool working on graphics to prepare an art school, so i'm not really pro but i like to have nice images and correct colours out of my screen, and i'd like to buy the cinema display. can clearcall matt papers can solve the colours accuracy problems?

    cheers

  • I've always used the matte screen.

  • with which program you make animation for initials? thanks...

  • I'm trying to decide between these as well, but figure the High-Res Glossy would be fine for me as 99% of the time my laptop stays at home. Also, if ever needed I can always buy a Matte Screen Protector for my MBP for cheap and get the same effect, right?

  • I have the matte screen on an older model MacBook Pro (non unibody), but the new unibody MacBook Pro looks a lot better with the glass display because everything matches compared to the matte display on the unibody MacBook Pro, making the screen look smaller than it already is, not match with the rest of the laptop and the rubber bezel around the screen making it weird to look at. I'm fine with the glossy on iPhone and may choose glossy for future purchase on a MacBook Pro.

  • The thing I want to see is when playing a video on the matte screen and on the glossy screen. please make a video on that. playing a hd quality movie on the glossy and on the matte anti-glare screen

  • dude you're a PRO! :) Bose, apple cinema display and macbook pro!!!

haha, i've just bought the antiglare screen a week ago, i think it's awesome!

  • @MacedoniaPd >.< dude... bose is many things. Pro is not one of them.

  • @404anonnotfound what do you mean?

  • @MacedoniaPd google "Bose" and "bad" the link at head-fi pretty much sums it up.

Bose stuff isn't accurate to the original sound and distorts the signal sometimes through overwhelming bass. Because its not an accurate sound reproduction, you wouldn't want to use it for sound monitoring, therefore, not professional.

    Its overpriced too. XD

  • Even if I hated the glossy, I wouldn't get the matte, because it looks weird without the black glass.

  • There is glare on the matte. Pause at 1:28

  • @peroman15 matte still gives glare but a little bit of it

  • good information but if you speaking slowdown some more

  • Good take on the subject... Now my question is, if I get the glossy MBP and I later add an off-the-shelf matte filter, will the colors be more correct with the filter? And has anyone reviewed those filters such that I could learn which is best to buy?

  • thanks! Now it's pretty clear.

  • thanks for the vid. Really explains it well.

  • thanks man u show some common sense. Many ppl lack common sense bitching about which one is better glossy or matte. Buy a Matte laptop with Glossy cinema at home. DERP

  • Very helpful, thanks man

  • Glossy display are better colors and bright, for indoor is perfect.

Matte display for outdoors, for people needed work with light of sun.

  • informative and well produced as always. Thanks for the info

  • really nice presentation;

what's the name of the song which sounds in the final of the video?

  • First informative video I have seen on this. Thanks for that. I am choosing matte, I like portability and will use my macbook outside a lot.

  • I also use Final Cut Pro...well actually im learning in school as of right now....but i also love to watch movies and i dont have a glossy external display....what you think i should do?

  • i have a matte screen and the viewing angles are reduced too. So if you like watching films n stuff then i would go with the glossy. It is down to personal preference. If your going to use it outside get the matte if your not then the glossy is perfect. This is a wide issue spreading over the whole entire computer world, whether notebook, netbook or desktop. There are ways of using out side. like shade but it does still lack in colour.

  • do you even know what color accuracy means?

  • I use my mac for an average of 8 hours a day. I turn down brightness to comfort my eyes. Having used both matte and glossy screens, I feel, matte screen copes better in low brightness setting of the screen. While using glossy display, I find myself having to turn up brightness to compensate for the reflection. So, if you - like me - usually turn down brightness while working, matte is certainly it.

  • I do prefer both....epic fail

  • @loopba haha

  • I´m buying macbook pro..so...glossy or matte?I will take my macbook pro outside..

  • @TheMacuser123 buy Matte MBP and when ur at home buy a Glossy Cinema Display or hook it up to ur TV

  • Great review, thanks for this! As for the people with their "fag" and "dumbass" comments.. Wish you guys would take a freakin' boxing class instead of running onto youtube to insult people. This is merely one man's review, and you look like complete morons cussing him out for it. Save your energy for murderers & rapists rather than a guy with an opinion on SCREENS.

  • @CreationAddict And thats why a purchased a monitor calibrator.... Either way, the matte screens provide more accurate colour than the glossy screens

  • @mitch625 i will be using it mostly inside and watching movies but also using Final Cut Pro....soo im sorta stuck in the middle...what you think? IM currently in school learning Final so im not a professional yet.

  • @CreationAddict What he means is, with the Matte screen, the colour you see is what you print

  • A person outside of the US that actually has an American Flag... Thanks for not being part of the stereotype Brits that hate the US because of an American they met that was a Douche, not all of us are like that... Don't judge all of America because of a few idiots. Now if you hate America because we go to war for oil.. that's another story ;]

  • Screw the screens! I'd prefer you, Darryl... .lol You are cute as hell. But yeah, I think the matte is better.

  • brilliant review man, but i've done photography based work using both th matte and glossy displays and th glossy seemed more accurate to me, especially using photoshop. just my opinion and what i saw, maybe your opinion on that would be nice :)

  • Thanks for the video review. I used to have PowerBook G4 with a matte screen. Last fall I got a new MacBook Pro with a glossy screen. I loved the way the colors looked on the glossy screen but the glare and the inaccurate representation of colors were a problem for me since I am a graphic designer. I'm going to get the new core i7 MBP this week, but this time I'm going to go with a matte screen. My external monitor is glossy, so I have the best of both worlds like you pointed out. Thanks!

  • @augoisms GLOOSY=FOR BLIND RETARDED PEOPLE WHO WANT A EXPENSIVE MIRROR

  • @No3225 Gloosy.. DUMBASS. And it's not "A EXPENSIVE".. It's an EXPENSIVE. You clearly are a dumbass.

  • @TheLuckAndLove

    sure fag sure

    now be quiet retard

  • Why do I see bubbles in the matte one?

  • well, i love my screen.

  • Little less conversation, a little more action please...
