It's a great car. The chrome grill looks fantastic on lighter colours. The car is definitely underpowered in an automatic config, however mated to the 6-speed manual it's a dream. It's no racecar, but it's rev happy and has plenty of power. My car seems to turn heads when it's all detailed. Great car, very happy with my purchase 1 year out!
The Accord (not the North American one) and the TSX are the same car. The TSX has more potent engines and more kit because it is sold as a luxury car, but they are essentially the same car.
The song is a canned version of My Sharona that was a hit in the late 1970's. I like the TSX and may purchase it over the Accord since the Accord's ride is a bit stiff and the cabin a bit noisey- not to mention the hard "supportive" seats.
The extra chrome on the grill looks better on a black TSX, imho. The contrast of the chrome accents against black really give a nice balanced look that says sporty yet sophisticated.
looks ok if it wasnt for the grill, totally turns me off like some old naked woman! lol And common 201hp, thats just awful! And I am young and want something like this in the next year, love honda but get rid of the grill puke!!! I hope honda reads all these and changes it in the next year! New Ford products are absolutely up to par with Toyota and Honda.Buick,Cadillac and Mercury all surpased Honda,Toyota in recent reliability tests.I believe it was consumer reports.Plus the 2010 Taurus and Fusion both blow the imports out of the water in almost every segment.Ford is the domestic company that's doing what it has to.
because honda has a PROVEN track record of reliability...not just a year! or so of it...honda builds cars that ..keyword here "LAST".....not cars that are reliable for one ..and have people go hog wild over them being ass reliable as a honda....you have to wait a few years to see if they are truly reliable..until then...honda is on top..
omg, the fusion has one of the best sound systems!! forget the humongous accord with its ugly dash. i'll take the camry over that, but i like the Mazda6 s, more fun and sexy. my dad can worry about the gas...
These TSX's are awesome. I test drove this and the Lexus IS and expected a big difference. To my surprise the TSX held its own. For $32K with Nav its a good deal. Now if Acura would only fix that grill....
I leased this car. Have owned this for 1 month now. I have had SO MANY compliments on how good looking it is!! I was in love with it, when I saw it. So BEAUTIFUL!! dont buy the v6 because = worse gas, heavy front end/worse handling, torque steer, and more expensive. If you have to have a 6 cylinder with subaru legacy 3.0R limited
Well the car has poor low-range go, but the power is delivered as you keep your foot pressed on the pedal at higher revs, and of course there's i-vtec, so there's no problems on the highways really. It does feel sluggish on the daily commute though.
Sluggish on the commute? How late for work are you? I remember my 1988 Prelude and how zippy it felt racing around like a bat outta hell. Now with my 2006 TSX which is about 2 seconds faster to 60...sluggish, lol.
This is a great car. Why is everybody so concerned with the power? I would understand if it was underpowered, but 200hp is actually a lot...I never have problems merging or accelerating at all. To me, sporty handling is much more important as its more practically used. I own a 2005 TSX and plan on keeping the thing until it dies....at which point I'll buy a new TSX.
Problem is alot of people are caught up in the name. This is nothing more than a euro Accord. My friend just leased a 2009, it looks nice untill you start touching the car. with all the hype I was expecting something with a more solid feel to it. the door handles felt really cheap, the doors sounds like tin and the dash texture resembles and feel like black styrofoam. Overall it just had a presence of cheap and not premium. This is not a luxry car. Kind of reminds me of the cavallac.
I agree, the outgoing TSX was too original and conservative on the outside, but I loved the interior and how everything was layed out simply and the quality feel to it, unlike the new model how everything is complicated-looking on the dash.
I usually do like acuras but i think i like the old style a little better. Is it just me or does it look like a chunk of the headlight, right by the grill is gone? I dont know it just kind of looks odd to me.

I have an 06 TSX fully loaded. I took my car in for service and got an 09 TSX loaner. Believe me I had mixed feelings for the look and everything. But after driving it and keeping it for almost a week, it grew on me, I didn't want to return it. Might consider getting it next.

201hp, fwd, and ugly for what 35k! Hell naw that's crazy. Just buy a used 2006-2007 G35. Found mine on autotrader. A G35 can be had with less than 30k miles from 20 to 25k. You'll get a v6, 300hp, and rwd. Acura BLEW IT. Last gen Acura's were hot! Now they all look like saturns.
I test drove one of these today! I liked it! However, in my opinion it isn't as sporty as it looks! I admit it's great for everday riding considering its luxury and technology, but it's not a race sprinter!

It isn't in the same price range when both are similarly equipped. My gf and I test drove both and a loaded TSX is 32K with tech package/navi, while a similarly equipped Maxima is 36K with navi.
It's not supposed to be that powerful,dude! If yhou want more power and more luxury, buy a TL. TSX is a cheaper version, with better fuel efficiency, that's why it's a bit cheaper and less powerful. I think nit looks fantastic....better than those Camrys..that may perform great, but look like a piece of shit.
the grill is a total joke, the europe version is much better from the front. i dont see why honda need ther accura brand in the states and canada. the honda name has a lot more history.

No one seems to understand the market of the TSX. It is basically a fully loaded car, leather, navi, the works. Try to customize a camry with similar features, on top of that, better quality interior the price be ridiculous. On top of that Acura has better service. Also, the car gets 28 on the freeway in real world. The TSX isn't luxury, just upscale. Kinda ugly though. -_-
with the increasing Gas price which will never go down, TSX's smaller engine will give better fuel economy. yes it lacks power bt more power=more fuel consumption. Acura has taken this in consideration and gave all luxury in interiors with a decent powerful fuel efficient engine...
HP reduced???? How about an upgraded to the 220+ range. And, why not AWD? Or at least an option, even though the car is very balanced. Got an 04' 6-speed by the way and love it. Except it's missing the BMW side mirror tilt down when reversing......
It actually outperforms the old car by a fair margin. Even though it has 4 less HP, it actually has much more area under the HP and torque curves. Even with its additional weight, it is quite a bit quicker. It also give Acura more room for a Type S model, or something similar, as most base TSX buyers don't care about how much HP a car has.
I know what you mean. The problem is that the Acura TSX is the European Accord. Whereas they will probably get a Accord Type R, we won't. So we're stuck with a slow TSX...
I own an 04 TSX and love it. I dropped by the dealer to take a peak at one of these and thought it was a TL. Not sure what the dimensions are, but it looks bigger. It's certainly more bulky and bloated. The faux-chrome grill blows. The front fascia is more aggressive than the previous model's, but power is down 4hp (more torque though) from the 06-08 versions. True, the interior is pretty dope, but the TSX should be quick and fun to drive - not just a slightly smaller version of the TL.
"Its bold, its brash", its a fucking stupid idea? Yeah, cause thats what everyone's asking for today, chrome on a japanese car. You die and go to hell design team. This sucks so much, I always liked the original TSX, just needed a little better engine. TSX HID's at night FTW.
I hated Acura's new design direction with the facelifted RL shown at the auto show, but I'm actually really liking the bold treatment on the TSX, RDX, and MDX so far. Hopefully the next TL doesn't get a butchered face like the RL.
Strangely, I like this entire Design. I was thinking of getting an Accord V6, but for just about the same price I can get this Euro-Accord with the same Honda reliability (actually better according to CR) and a much nicer Design.
I really don't care for the strange, half-boxy, half-curvy design in the new Accords. But this TSX is done up right. And the grill? I like it. And no, it does not remind me of Saturn.
Buyers would do well to think of this as an upscale Accord, not a sportster
Own an 04 TSX with 150K miles on it. Have not had a single rattle nor problem. Cant wait for this car to come out. I will definitely buy one. Love the design, features and the fact that it is one of the fewest cars on the market that is fully assembled in Japan.
I love Acura but please bring back the touch screen and get rid of the dial and some of the buttons.

Ok look, This is actually a very good looking car. Just the ACURA front grille spoils it.
The european equivalent, the Honda accord, looks very nice.
It also drives well, however i prefer the actual paint colours, and interior colours of this acura.
The engine is also better in ths acura.

201hp, fwd, and ugly for what 35k! Hell naw that's crazy. Just buy a used 2006-2007 G35. Found mine on autotrader. A G35 can be had with less than 30k miles from 20 to 25k. You'll get a v6, 300hp, and rwd. Acura BLEW IT. Last gen Acura's were hot! Now they all look like saturns.

As an owner of a 2004 TSX, which I absolutely love, I have to letters for the new 2009: P.U.
The styling is LLLAAAME...the new interior is a ball of confusion where the last generation was a model of simplicity. I'll take a pass...sorry Acura.

I test drove one of these today! I liked it! However, in my opinion it isn't as sporty as it looks! I admit it's great for everday riding considering its luxury and technology, but it's not a race sprinter!
Does anyone own a 2009 TSX? Any regrets? Or Recomendations?

It isn't in the same price range when both are similarly equipped. My gf and I test drove both and a loaded TSX is 32K with tech package/navi, while a similarly equipped Maxima is 36K with navi.

It's not supposed to be that powerful,dude! If yhou want more power and more luxury, buy a TL. TSX is a cheaper version, with better fuel efficiency, that's why it's a bit cheaper and less powerful. I think nit looks fantastic....better than those Camrys..that may perform great, but look like a piece of shit.

No one seems to understand the market of the TSX. It is basically a fully loaded car, leather, navi, the works. Try to customize a camry with similar features, on top of that, better quality interior the price be ridiculous. On top of that Acura has better service. Also, the car gets 28 on the freeway in real world. The TSX isn't luxury, just upscale. Kinda ugly though. -_-

with the increasing Gas price which will never go down, TSX's smaller engine will give better fuel economy. yes it lacks power bt more power=more fuel consumption. Acura has taken this in consideration and gave all luxury in interiors with a decent powerful fuel efficient engine...

HP reduced???? How about an upgraded to the 220+ range. And, why not AWD? Or at least an option, even though the car is very balanced. Got an 04' 6-speed by the way and love it. Except it's missing the BMW side mirror tilt down when reversing......

It actually outperforms the old car by a fair margin. Even though it has 4 less HP, it actually has much more area under the HP and torque curves. Even with its additional weight, it is quite a bit quicker. It also give Acura more room for a Type S model, or something similar, as most base TSX buyers don't care about how much HP a car has.

I own an 04 TSX and love it. I dropped by the dealer to take a peak at one of these and thought it was a TL. Not sure what the dimensions are, but it looks bigger. It's certainly more bulky and bloated. The faux-chrome grill blows. The front fascia is more aggressive than the previous model's, but power is down 4hp (more torque though) from the 06-08 versions. True, the interior is pretty dope, but the TSX should be quick and fun to drive - not just a slightly smaller version of the TL.

I hated Acura's new design direction with the facelifted RL shown at the auto show, but I'm actually really liking the bold treatment on the TSX, RDX, and MDX so far. Hopefully the next TL doesn't get a butchered face like the RL.

Strangely, I like this entire Design. I was thinking of getting an Accord V6, but for just about the same price I can get this Euro-Accord with the same Honda reliability (actually better according to CR) and a much nicer Design.
I really don't care for the strange, half-boxy, half-curvy design in the new Accords. But this TSX is done up right. And the grill? I like it. And no, it does not remind me of Saturn.
Buyers would do well to think of this as an upscale Accord, not a sportster

Own an 04 TSX with 150K miles on it. Have not had a single rattle nor problem. Cant wait for this car to come out. I will definitely buy one. Love the design, features and the fact that it is one of the fewest cars on the market that is fully assembled in Japan.
