@Tunknatar not true if your doing this FOR ANY lipo battery of any shape or size there will be a 10% trickle charge so 1000mah = 100mah trickle charge. Over charging battery's is surprisingly easy. but really even so never leave a lipo battery unattended, even if you know you'll only be gone for 5min or even just in a different room. lipo battery's are awesome but used incorrectly, potentially deadly.

No. they probably had to work to get them to explode. Plus, they would get extremely hot, (lipos are never suppose to get hot while charging) and they would "balloon" up to almost 2 twice there size before exploding. You have to make a serious mistake to make a lipo explode.
