  • great video thanks

  • takes too long to get to the point

  • I wrote some software to do this in TurboC about 12 years ago and it didn't use any trigonometry. BTW, I found the website and their software to do this requires you have MatLab, Hmmm...

  • ...and why are we wearing orange vests?

  • 2:13 is Jim Carrey.

  • 11 people got blind by the laser

  • How does the math works? Because i use it, but i had wrong object.

Can you explain it to me?

  • where i procces the image what to do??

  • thums up if you skipped the trig part

  • What's with the vests?!

  • good video

  • 4:42 - Lol - Sorry, I know this sounds imature.

  • 350 MegaHz FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFf

  • You still live with your mum ??? :o

  • no i dont, i like working by understanding thing properly from the bottom up, same as anyone else.

  • fucking answer to at least 1 comment...

the lights have to be turned off or not?

  • Shave your Mam's head then cook here alive...

You chopped your Mam's head off...

Just joking this is Great, really :)

  • That's funny, I've had this exact idea in my mind for a while now, seems like I wasn't the only one.

  • You can break the video into frames, export frames individually , trace them in illustrator, and use UV-LOFT in 3DsMax to create a much smoother mesh.

  • in highschool he hcked the computer network, now he's gone and shot his mom with a laser

  • what's the web address....? ? looks like everyone else wants to know too.

  • how do you get r?

  • 350 mhz, wow slow processor. no wonder it took 20 mins.

  • LAME

  • @arcdraf Oh and like you could do better. >.>

  • @ddrmaxman iiii cant but i dont care

  • @arcdraf therefore you look dumb after that other statement. . . :/

  • @ddrmaxman notreallythantmeans i have a sinceof humor

  • @arcdraf uh huh. so by sense of humor, you mean spam?

  • @ddrmaxman na do something with your life duces dude

  • @arcdraf I already do. It's why I make a pretty good income.

  • is this video translated ? the voices doesn't fit to the way their mouths move .anyway nice project..BTW i have also used the geometric principals to make an IR radar

  • Want to im,prove this designs quality, resolution and any other number of physical parameters.?!

Remove the wineglass and replace with a "Galvonometer". (Think i spelt that right)

Basically, a "Galvo" is a mirror that rotates a certain amount of degrees, backwards and forwards at a ridiculously high speed. What is projected looks exactly like a vertical line, it is however, just the 1 beam, scanning backwards and forwards at high speed. please look into this, i've run out of charachters!

  • retards

  • ur mom is hot lolololol

  • i don't think you can add that to a game xD too many vertecies

  • @ffKingcreole yes you can you just have to clean it up or use a tool

  • What software did you use?

  • For a higher resolution scan, I recommend using industrial strength welding lasers.

This will also have add desirable smoke effects to the model.

  • were can i get the software thanks

  • nice project and lovely lady...

  • 350MHz processor? When was this made!?

  • aoirl 19 2008

  • seriously, who cares?

  • @xcalibur1979

    I am still using a 300MHz laptop;-)

  • Here you guys never left a weblink to get the software.

  • Comment removed

  • what software do u use ?

  • I don't know the software's name, but there's a program (german name is: DAVID 3D Scanner), that works exactly in the same way. You just need a camera (more than 1.3mp), a special background you can print, that strange laser-liner, an object and, sure, the program (it's free).

  • This laser is a Class 1 laser, the same type found in nightclubs, events, key fobs etc. If you search for "Class 1 laser" on google, wikipedia is first and explains in detail there.

    "Class I

Inherently safe; no possibility of eye damage. This can be either because of a low output power (in which case eye damage is impossible even after hours of exposure), or due to an enclosure preventing user access to the laser beam during normal operation, such as in CD players or laser printers"

  • what kind of software do you use in order to make the 3d ???

  • mensturalfluids v1.0

    google it.

  • i have it googled but i cant find any link..

  • ROTFL! :)

  • I've been working on this project myself - I would program it yourself. Any basic language that supports basic math algorithms and can export a file should work. I recommend exporting to an OBJ format as it is easy to generate and most 3D software including Blender, Maya, C4D, and 3DSM can read it.

  • Ohhh Excelent you are Gennious man, thats magic.

    Congratulations, very interesting

  • Hope that wasnt a powerful green you had there...

Instead of reflecting off a wine glass why not just use linear gratings or line generating lenses?

  • Wine glass is cheaper.

  • Next time I think you should shine the laser in your mom's eyeball a little longer.

Maybe instead of relying on contacts, you should invest in some laser safety glasses that block out the wavelengths that the laser produces.

  • They didn't want a scan of safety glasses! Are you mental?

  • maybe she is not that stupid and she didnt forget to close her eyes ;)

  • You know part of the problem with America is our great apathy towards science and reason. They said that the contacts she was wearing would block the laser radiation. I don't really think they would, maybe someone could post some info on how exactly that works, and I will apologize. As far as I know the only thing that will block the laser rad. would be expensive protective glasses tuned to the wavelength of the laser.

"That's universally stupid, man." -(Cereal Killer)

  • Actually if you would've listened, they said the contacts were opaque, as in blocking all visible light, and more...

  • if you say so

    i didnt catch that part

  • Since a laser is just light, anything opaque will do the trick, as the laser in this case is emitting in the visual spectrum. A class 1 laser also won't hurt your eyes as it is very low power. If the laser emits in the IR or UV spectrums, that should also be fine, but this laser won't as it is classed as extremely safe. If it was emitting in the X-Ray or Gamma areas of the spectrum, there would be cause for concern as these go through most objects. But it doesn't, so we son;t need to worry.

  • This is cool! Just wonder where to find the softweare for 3D reconstruction? Free download?

    Thanks!

  • @neurowu just code it yourself, isnt that what this show is all about? :)

  • @rouncer81 Why write it from scratch when there's MeshLab?

  • @radicalgarbage02 i dunno if your good you can. if your like a genius like these guys could do it prob.

  • @rouncer81 Something tells me you don't know what you're talking about.

  • @radicalgarbage02 doesnt matter, like it doesnt matter im coming out with my own map editor "i coded myself" woah how do you do that?!?!?

  • @rouncer81 Good for you, but you know damn well that it's not as complicated as making 3d scanning software. Especially if it's a map editor for a game you "coded yourself". You make it seem like such an accomplishment to program something on your own. You probably just copy paste things you don't understand from online tutorials right?

  • Well done and great explanation. I'm definately including this in my thesis on new technologies in archaeology.

  • is realy cool
