@Johns32mith... You must not truly have applied yourself at Landstar! My wife is doing well there. I book her loads for her and, while there are some screwed up agents in the system, they are better than most companies. You just learn who to use and who not to.

I thought good things of Landstar but not recently. I have noticed many of times, that they have been taking a big percentage of loads from their broker side division. As a matter of fact, I haul load for a shipper that is just now brokering their loads with landstar. The load the shipper gives us usually go for 1200 and these landstar people are giving it to people for 1000. Wow, 200 bucks for talking on the phone. These people are crooks.

I was bring home over 9 grand a month. But if you are not happy at landstar, go find another place to criticize, and I have been every were, Landstar has the best system out there. No dispatchers, no one telling you were to go, when to go, you run at you're own pace,You go online and chose you're loads, there is a lot of cheep stuff, and there is a lot of good stuff..

I don't know about going broke, I have been with them a Month, and my net bring home has been 7900, and I don't even work hard, and this is my second time with them, I was with them in 07, I was bring home over 9 grand a month. Landstar its a scam.

You don't even get the fuel surcharge promise by them.They advertise the money per load and miles and when comes to fuel they will diduct fuel surcharge from the gross of that load.

Lets say that load pays $2.00 a mile then you deduct $0.46 cpm fuel so will remain $1.54 cpm than they will take you 35% out of $1.54 cpm and you will get $1.00 mile than you pay the other fees and the diference at the pump and for you maybe $0.40cpm.

@johns32mith can you explain to me how other expenses make from 1$ to o.40 per mile?2 bucks is very high.now i make 1.25 per mile and after cost of fuel i have 65 -70 cents to my pocket.but i dont like miles so what a trick with landstar because i am thinkig to work for them.so if they pay 2 dollars after all expenses net incom is just.40?how?hard to imagine..

If you go to Tampa,FL you will not finds loads to bring beack,so you will pay again for empty miles and they are planty,somewere in range of 250-450,another hook at landstar.

Reality is you will make no money with landstar,I'm an owner operator with landstar or so called BCO bullshit.The only persons making money on landstar are the agents and those in high office.Not to lie,their is a so called well establised owner operator for some time like 25 years veterans or so and they get the goodies allways.All they have to do for them is make that magic phone call since they know their family friend agent and they might have planty other trucks.Good loads on open board??

Oh I would love to see that money you say agents of landstar get. As it isn't coming into this agency. And I for the most part go with the BCO's.

Granted some of the loads that I post are booked before you call. But I am not the only agent or company looking at that load.
