  • i have almost the same f 150 but mine has a darker paintjob its a maroon red on 38" buckshot mudders bad a** truck

  • @swantar66 i agree ..... since this video it went higher and got bigger tires too .

  • it reminds me of my uncles truck... cherry 85 f150 that he decided to mud till it breaks

  • is the F150 your truck rex or you just got the jeep

  • @303BoltAction its my buddies truck ...... im just rockin the jeep right now .

  • is it a 1989 f150?

  • @bucksunlimited100 i wish i knew ...... that guy has had so many trucks its hard to keep up with him .

  • @bucksunlimited100 it would only be up to an 86 thats a 80 to 86, from 87 to 91 they where a completely different front end (looks wise), then they changed again from 92 to 96, and again in 97 thats the year i got

  • @bucksunlimited100 It's an '80-'86. '89 had the super flat front clip

  • i mean 351**

  • 302 or 360?

  • @555skipknot666 360 is dodge man,the 351 is ford...but i guess you could put a 360 in it.

  • @TheFU01 i meant 351 not 360, dodge also makes the 318 right?

  • @TheFU01 You could put a 360 Ford in it, as long you you swapped transmission, driveshafts, transfercase, etc, etc.. Or you could try to make yourself an adapter to fit the engine/trans. together. If your going to that much work, might as well go with a 460 or diesel.

  • @moparmurderer

    @555skipnot666

Ford made a 360 and ran it from '68 to '76.

  • @moparmurderer Oops, my bad. I did not see that you said "Ford 360" so my little tidbit of information was probably useless to you. I misread and thought you said Dodge 360.

  • @blindskater200 No worries ; )

Personally, I always thought the 360's were dogs, give me a 390 any day. Or better yet, a 429!

  • @moparmurderer I've not yet driven a vehicle with a 429 but I was able to drive a '67 F100 with the 390 in it and even though it was mostly stock (as far as I know it only has a rebuild, if that) it was really strong! Those old FE engines are amazing motors and I had contemplated taking my 351w out of my truck to swap in a 390

  • @blindskater200 I was going to do the same with my 89, but then realized how much work it would be in order to do that.. Basically, you would be completely reworking the entire driveline, from front to rear. Seriously not worth it. Especially with all the aftermarket support out there for the 302 and 351 windsors. You can build a pretty mean smallblock Ford to make some very respectable power.

  • @moparmurderer Exactly why I didn't do it! Too much work, and with the money spent on it, you could have built a very nice 302 or 351

  • @blindskater200 I am looking into replacing a 300 inline 6 with a 4bt (4 cyl. turbo cummins) in a 95 f150 right now. The hard part is finding one in Nebraska, or for under $4k....

  • @moparmurderer Good luck! It's bound to be amazing once done

  • @blindskater200 Thanks brother ; )

  • @moparmurderer Why? What can a 4bt do that a 300 cant? Btw, what part of NE are you in?

  • @Redrocket90 Make the same/better hp/tq numbers, with twice the fuel mileage. Southeast NE. The 300 is a great engine, no doubt about it, but a turbocharged 4 cyl diesel would be a lot cooler to have between the front fenders.

  • @moparmurderer you could fit a 12v cummins under the hood of an f150 if you made a little room

  • @YourFavoriteReviewer Why would I have to make any room?.. My truck already has a straight 6 cylinder in it... That's not the problem, the problem is the rest of the truck. It's just not built to handle that much power, and would quickly start failing. Trans would go, then axles, then transfer case, then the frame... See where this is going?

  • @moparmurderer yea thats true...not worth the time or money to replace the whole truck because your motor broke it. if your truck was a 3/4 or 1 ton i would say deffinately go for a 12 or 24 valve though...but it aint so yea a 4bt would be a good choice i agree

  • @YourFavoriteReviewer People have gotten away with turned down 12 valves in an f150, but what's the fun in that? If it's not going to be making any more power than the 4bt, I would rather have the fuel economy of the 4 cyl. Plus I am 19, so there is no way I would ever turn DOWN a diesel engine... Up definitely :D

  • @moparmurderer haha i know right...if i dropped a 12v in my f150 i would have bald rear tires and a snapped axle in a week haha im just gonna end up buyin a full on 3/4 ton dodge with a cummins eventually. theres no way i would put a powerhouse like that on a 1/2 ton frame. my friend did but that things been torqued so hard he might as well rebuild it on a new frame. but yea deffinately get the fuel economy if nothin else

  • @YourFavoriteReviewer I don't really like Dodge pickups.. For a truck I wont drive anything but a Ford. I love the cummins diesel engines Dodge uses, but the rest of the truck is crap, IMO. If you get one, make sure it has as less electronics as possible, and a manual trans.

  • @moparmurderer yea i will deffinately get a standard in it. i cant say i hate dodge pickups...they have their ups and downs but every truck has its problems the way i see it. im not too picky ill drive any of the big 3 brands but ive never owned a chevy so i cant say that i know first hand how great they are or arent. dodge and ford...i can. ive actually got a little problem in my f150 right now. the 4wd only works if the hubs are locked. if they arent then the fronts wont turn themselves

  • @YourFavoriteReviewer Sounds to me like it is working perfectly... 4x4 won't work unless your hubs are locked in, dude....

  • @moparmurderer thats exactly what i was thinkin but my friends trucks 4x4 works without the hubs locked its just an open diff i guess that turns the tires and if you lock the hubs then obviously its a locked diff. im not disagreeing with you im just sayin i figured my truck would do the same...guess not

  • @YourFavoriteReviewer open/locked differential has nothing to do with it. Your truck has manual hubs, your friends trucks have automatic hubs. When they engage the 4x4 their hubs lock automatically, you have to physically turn the hubs to lock yours. IMO, the manual hubs are better. So there is nothing wrong with your truck, you just aren't familiar with how 4x4 works. Open/locked diffs decides whether 1 tire gets power, or both do. Think positraction.

  • @moparmurderer yea im not very experienced with diffs...engines yea diffs no. alright well that answers my problem

  • @YourFavoriteReviewer If you have any questions feel free to ask, I will answer anything that I can.

  • @moparmurderer alright...while im at it if i leave my hubs locked and im in 2 wheel is it bad for my front diff? or is it not a big deal

  • @YourFavoriteReviewer A lot of people will argue it both ways. If you're going to be driving on the highway over 50 mph, I would advise unlocking them. I also know people who leave their hubs locked in all winter long, so they don't have to get out of the truck to put it in 4x4. Just expect your gas mileage to drop, because now you will be pushing that front end around.

  • @moparmurderer yea its not that im too lazy to get out of the truck i just dont have time to sometimes but ill start unlockin em when i dont need the 4x4. i kinda figured because it seems like my acceleration is worse when i have em locked in

  • @YourFavoriteReviewer That is a good plan ;) Mine are unlocked until the minute I need 4x4, or unless I know I am going to need it soon (mudding, offroading, etc). I don't think it hurts to leave them locked, but why waste the extra fuel pushing the front around?

  • @moparmurderer yea theres no point in not unlocking em if you dont need em. kinda a pain in the ass for me since my driveway is a good mile long and usually muddy and snowy but i can get out to deal with em. dont need to push that around if im not using it

  • is it four wheel drive

  • @bluesnature1 yes

  • How can your TTB front axle safly handle those tires?

  • @1994WN i dont know .... im holding the camera lol

  • @1994WN Its not a TTB. Someone converted it to a solid axle front end. Watch closely at 0:20. There is just enough day light underneath the truck to see that it's a solid axle.

  • what a great looking ford, very clean

  • @bigchuck707 yea its pretty sweet .... he just put a new motor in it a couple months ago .... sounds even better now :-)>
