the mastering sounds gr8. one of the problems i have is when my sub bass clashes with the drums drowning out the sound a bit- got any tips? i always try & make the bass quite loud but should i be doing this? thanks, good track btw!

Hi man ;D,

i totally messed up the mastering on this one man, wasn't too happy about it! About the sub bass, what i tend to do is low-pass the sub to 100hz which gives more room for the kick/snare. Ideally sub bass should sit at around 70hz which is a bit of an ass to get right. Another thing i do is sidechain the sub a *little* on the kick lane so the sub volume is lowered whenever a kick plays. Send me a msg if you want to know more ;) Keep it EZ!!

holy fuck!! damn dude, sick as fuck. i kinda like how you mixed the drums a little lower and the reese seems a little more prominent. i also really like the vocals. has a nice teebee sort of sound to it.

sadly i haven't made any progress on hivemind, i've had roughly 3 hours of homework a night from high school and i don't have too much time to get any stuff done. i'm thinking about mastering the demo i have to kind of polish it up, but i think maybe over thanksgiving i'll finish it up.

I know what you mean about the 'phattness', i really don't understand compression on synths sadly :(. I think im getting there abit with the drums -compression-wise, but i heardly ever use comp on the synths cos i still havent got my head around it. Maybe routing the reese + bass together in the same compression? I dunno dudeo!
