This new E Class is a fabulous car. It is also beautiful looking. Deliberately understated elegance. I always love that with the E Class. In the later 1950s I took a ride in a 180D Taxi in Dublin.

This Mercedes E Class is extremely special. I have no doubt it is the best car in it's segment. Bangle is a genius designer with the 5 series BMW. He has now left BMW unfortunately. there is always room for Mercedes E Class and BMW 5 series in the world. They are both wonderful cars. I like Mercedes E Class best and in black.

i read in motortrend that theres a self braking system that sees if the gap between the car and the car ahead is closing and if the driver doesnt brake the car brakes slightly and puts and alarm on the dash board and if the driver still doesnt brake it puts the brakes on all the way...sounds pretty cool

They have gone to so much trouble and expense. The new team at the top are trying very hard. In reliability surveys they have shot up considerably. This car would definitely get my money !!

lexus copied the dual headlampe design with the

2nd gen gs in 1998

*** the 1st gen consisted of a single head lamp design.

The latest e class kept the original dual headlamps and took the more pointed and chiseled look from the c class, which is there own.

dear Josh, it's a bit semplistic to point the fact w210 was the first model with dual headlamps: if we go in the past, different other models had dual hlamps: moreover, W210 headlamps were oval and where shaped compietely different style from Lexus models. Say"Merc was the original just because was the firs with dual headlamp" is like to say all car models are not original because the're copying first Ford model "T" with 4 wheels... happy new year.

One has to look at it from a distance to be able to judge the full design. Some of the videos and magazine pictures are terrible, the camera lense is almost right on the front bumper. Some of them don't know what photographic means!!

The designer was forced to do just gradual changes. I saw an interview. Anything too extreme and Mercedes would lose a lot of traditional E Class customers. In a dark colour it looks lovely and with understated elegance.
