  • may i ask how it is used to incapacitate a tank?

  • @lilblitz It was a high velocity 20 mm in real life, and it did its job by breaking armor, send shards of metal into the tank, and after getting through, causing damage to machinery, and casualties among the crew. Mind you that this was 70 + yrs ago when tanks were very thinly armored <25mm These guns were used in the years before the Bazooka etc. were issued, and after for other work.

  • @beardo52 Thanks for that,so not really any practical application today.

  • @lilblitz Not against modern NATO tanks, but the older cold war tanks this rifle could still cause some damage to the less protected exterior equipment, but there are many better weapons for that these days. But if its all you had, and were willing to get close enough (scary thought) you could do in sights, or cripple the main gun if you could get a good hit on the tube, which is fairly thin towards the end. Today only good for light armor like BTR, LAV, stryker, etc.

  • she can feel that

  • And who ever converted a lahti into a 50 should be smacked yes smacked like a bitch its a crying shame

  • @atoasttothefallen2 Depends why it was done. about half of the 1,000 guns were drilled up into the chamber, and into the receiver roof from the trunnion .a 3/4 " hole which was plugged, and welded, then another pug was welded over it. not visible from the outside, but preventing the rifle from being restored as the receiver was not strong enough to stand the pressure. The .50BMG conversion will allow the gun to work again, as that is all the thing would then stand.

  • If your going to fire a weapon that obviously your under quilified to get your facts straight it is a 20mm lahti not a 50 I carried a m82 50 for 2yrs and have owned one for 5yrs now

  • That is not a .50 cal, the Lahti L-39 is chambered in 20mm

  • @otiswh but i think this one is rechambered to .50 cal as most import to the states from this gun. :(

  • @NarowAR07 All of the original 1,000 rifles were in shootable condition, and still in their 20x138B cailber. it wasn't until they were here that conversions were done. These were done to restore a drilled gun to operation, (about half of them were de-watted by drilling a big hole in the receiver) so this was the only thing one could do to get them firing again. Others were converted because of ammo availability, or to resurrect an un papered gun after the 1968 registration amnesty.

  • @beardo52 yes i agree you are correct.

  • that is definitely a lahti 20mm. but you are correct it could have been restored as a 50 caliber

  • looks like a lahti anti tank rifle probably rebarrelled and rechambered for 50bmg. we had one where i used to work at.

  • thumbs up if you thought it was an old lady shooting.....

  • This is actually a 20mm, not a 50 cal.

  • you were shooting a .50 cal at your neighbours? Thats not very nice, you must really hate them!

  • No fucking way that's a .50 Cal. Waaay too big.

  • HOLY HELL LOOK AT THE LOADING RECOIL!

  • she got a lil' wet from it ;-)

  • this rifle from finland...

  • плечо после такого зудеть долго будет)

  • British .60 cal anti tank weapon WWII... How did u get one of those?

  • @SchlipDawg you are thinking of the Boys a.t. rifle which is a .55 cal. and is bolt action, as well as half the size of the rifle in the clip. As to getting one, If you are a citizen the U.S. and there is one available in your home State that is for sale then you may be in luck. otherwise you'll need the services of a destructive device dealer to get one for you. Next, you have to be 21, and be able to pass muster in the transfer process, and have a boat load of cash.

  • @SchlipDawg thats a Lahti L-39... its finnish

  • arnt 50' s bigger?

  • @keep6cans than what?

  • @beardo52 than 15mm

  • @keep6cans If I'm reading your comment correctly, 15mm is larger than the 12.7 mm of the .50BMG. The rifle in the video is a 20mm rifle that has been converted to fire the .50BMG. (12.7x99) 20mm is between .78-and .79 cal.

  • @beardo52 cheers bro

  • I believe that's a .60 cal*

  • GET OFF MY DAMNED LAWN! *BOOM*

  • hey this is ww2 anti tank gun

  • how can this gun be anti-tank does it have explosive rounds or something?

I tought that anti-tanks would like rpg or bazooka something like that xD or another tank with armor piercing canon ^^.

  • @MrManuel91 This type of rifle was brought into use prior to the development of the shaped charge weapons you mentioned. This particular gun has been converted from 20mm to .50 cal. as a 20 mm it used a solid steel shot munition for anti tank work.

  • Yes that is a Finnish 20mm anit-tank rifle, it was used during the Winter War of 1939-1940 to take out Soviet tanks. Notice the skis on the bi-pop? That is for easy transport through the snow.

  • so if you shot that at a person, would the round explode on impact or just go right through?

  • @hedonismrocks Depends on what type of ammo being used. if a.p., its jacketed steel with an incendiary in the nose. and while it will go off when it hits something, its not really explosive. the steel core goes right on through.

  • @beardo52 Thanks for that.

  • look the halo sniper sniper rifle...

  • Aren't military grade weapons like this off limits to the general public ? These are weapons used in military engagements and should only be seen either on a battlefield or military base during shooting excercises.

  • @Bradgilliswhammyman The United States codes would disagree. Private ownership of firearms of all kinds has been the right of the american Citizen from the beginning. So, as long as any citizen of the required age can pass muster on the paperwork, they can legally possess whatever type of firearm they wish. (assuming they can afford to pay for it.)

  • did anyone else notice what the woman said after the first shot?

  • did you get your neighbor?

  • @Minamoto77 He didnt have the neighbor permit on his hunting license.

  • Jesus Christ its on skiis!

  • @100redeye Winter's coming....

  • Now attach a scope & do a 360 no-scope drop shot while jumping out a 2nd floor window. jk :P

  • Only in America...

  • anti-wife gun where is my beer

  • @MrKolt2112 Yawn, for a troll you are poor at best. If you must indulge in baiting, stick to the type your mother keeps catching you at.

  • @beardo52 lol priceless.....your in your 50s arent you ?....thought i wouldnt see mother jokes commin from someone your stature....sign of a desperate man..keep it commin troll as i dont go back over seas for another few weeks...you hang out on this page and a few others 24/7 = troll...more plz...

  • 1st clicking sound "wtf thats small" 5 seconds later "HOLY S***"

  • 'Shooting a 50 cal behind my house at my neighbor's.' LMFAO.

  • nice

  • why on earth would you ever need to own that kind of weapon system??

  • @QuickNick180 incase you were ever attacked by a tank, duh :P

  • @enigmatic563 I hate when that happens.....

  • @enigmatic563 Ahhh of course, im such an idiot. lol

  • @QuickNick180

    they are americans xD.....

  • @QuickNick180 What has need to do with it?

  • @Gostwriterindisguise well i suppose nothing when its your "right" right??

  • THats an old Anti tank rifle. I'd recognize the skis anywhere!

On a side note: I MUST HAVE ONE.

  • @Wildcat425B Since you are a U.S. Citizen, you need only wait till you're 21 before you too can own such a fine piece of history. Once you wade through the paperwork, then you can take home your prize, effulgent with pride in your freedom.

  • Chuck Norris wears 2 of these as 6 shooters.

  • L-39 lahti 20mm not .50 cal. major difference.

  • @richiefrickenrich

That magazine in the video is a clear giveaway that it's been converted to .50 cal. The 20mm magazine is larger with a more pronounced curve.

  • I want one!

  • now shoot it from the hip

  • Is this a sniper?(i think it is) but how it is anti tank ? sorry i am new to this types of weapon

  • @Hmoood96 Its very old, (70) it was primarily used against Soviet tanks of the late 30's, later it was used against bunkers, people, and aircraft, and anything else they figured it would work on.

  • @Hmoood96 The 50 calibe bullet when leaving the rifle has enough power to snap a tank's treads, destroy any machine gun that might be on top of it, and I believe even dent the barrel, all of which will disable the tank in some way, if not altogether. If the sniper can manage shoot inside the forward gunner's position some of the older tanks had, it could kill some of the crew inside. They now often call them Anti-Materiel Rifles due their destructive capabilities on just about anything they hit.

  • 20mm > 50 cal

  • @PhantomSambo Unless its been converted.

  • Try the 20mm version. Looks identical, except larger. :O

  • I say god damn!!

  • serious that a 20mm laty its a swedish anti tank rifle

  • @nickbaldus Sweden had Bofors build the M-40 a.t. rifle, Finland had VKT (State rifle factory) build the Lahti. Two very different rifles.

  • @nickbaldus Actually its Finnish, and it's spelled Lahti. just for future reference :)

  • @nickbaldus It's Lahti and it's Finnish. You got the cartridge right though. On the second thought, they might've modified it to shoot .50cal rounds since the original 20mm's are quite hard to come by.

If you want to read further you can check its wikipedia article under the name "Lahti L-39".

  • @nickbaldus It is from Finland not Sweden.

  • @nickbaldus That gun is Lahti L-39 and it has nothing to do with Sweden because its a Finnish anti-tank rifle.

  • @nickbaldus The weapon is also called the "norsupyssy" which means 'elephant gun' in Finnish. For an AT weapon it wasn't paricularly good at defeating armour, but you can tell that to the Russian snipers it was, in fact, used against.

  • @nickbaldus dude its finnish.

  • @nickbaldus fail,u swedish gay

  • This gun you can buy at a russian cabela's and what is it ment for? hunting ducks. And maybe planes...

  • It's normally 20mm was it sub-called?

  • @KiwiLovin7 A full permanent conversion to 50BMG. A not uncommon conversion for this rifle. Also for the Boys a.t. rifle.

  • this is a 20 mm

  • lol im cod 5 you hold it like its made from paper

  • @xXJustinBernardXx Its not in cod 5, you must have mistaken it for something else.

  • @beardo52 wasn't This In The WW2? or in COD 5 .... gosh im forgotten the whole weapon lol

  • @xXJustinBernardXx The gun is from 1939, built, and used by Finland against the villainous tanks of the Soviet Union.

  • @beardo52 i remember that i saw a footage of this weapon in some ww2 scene ... you were right but in the footage it was German Tanks not Soviet could it be stolen...?

  • @xXJustinBernardXx The Fins sided with the reich against the Soviets early on, for the help they would get in driving the Soviets back. Later, they took the Allied side, against the Reich. Some rifles were lost to the Soviets, and perhaps they used them against the Reich. but there were many different models of anti tank rifles. This one is a Lahti L-39, used 20mm ammo, this one was converted to .50 cal.

  • La la la la lati!

  • She her pussy probably felt the overpressure of the gun.

  • Robocop used this to kill that chicken robot in the ending XD

  • @doyme22 Couuldn't be,, I saw robot chicken on Adult Swim last night....;)

  • I think that's more than a 50 cal. 20 mm is it I think

  • true definition of boss

  • That is a 20mm cannon it was just on red jackets show(sons of guns)

  • @gmtech001 This is not a cannon.

    It's a semi-auto anti-tank rifle.

  • It's a 50 cal Anti-EVERYTHING get it right...

  • @abro3000 even glass

  • dear santa.......

  • That's a Lahti L-39, made by Finland, its an anti tank artillery rifle, used against Russian tanks.

  • Yes, this gun was used in first Soviet-Finland war 1939, against light tank. When USSR start use T-34 & KV-2 in 1941 it's become fully useless against modern tanks. But Finland continue use this as anti-sniper rifle

  • You shot the gun at your neighbor?

  • why on earth would you have a gun like that whilst living on a farm, WEIRD.

  • @ReefHaddigan123 agreed....been trying to have that question answered myself..give it a few days youll get the trolls jumpin on your question

  • Chuck Norris called. He wants to know if he can have his BB Gun back.

  • That ain't no gun. That's artillery.

  • a .50 Cal AT Rifle. Not sure that possible need a higher caliber

  • To do list:

    1. Go ask to borrow that gun

    2. Find Sarah Palin

  • @BaBybLEnDer69 Sarah would probably get the draw on you and take you out.

  • @SoCalDualSport Probably, she would just take the gun away, and get out the hickory switch.

  • @SoCalDualSport she would be to dumb to find the trigger

  • Take that thing to Wall Street and do something useful.

  • Why do people need a gun like this in everyday life? Because it fucking kicks ass, bitch.

  • holy rats ass beardo..do you live on this page ?

  • I'm so glad we (the U.S.) has crazy people like that! At least they're ready for whatever happens.. :)

  • @bloodlust177 they are perfectly legal aslong as you dont live in a shitty state like california where you need an ffl to own one of these but most of the usa these are legal alot are in 50 cal as any higher is a destructive device where you have to go through the NFA and pay the extortion tax

  • im starting to hate all these stupid chuck norris jokes, get over it already -.-'

  • @TheUndutchified same here dude no one cared about him until bruce lee died

  • Haha sorry I startled you honey. :) 0:08

  • that cannon can be sold? asshole laws

  • That's a 20mil Finnish Lahti. Not actually a .50 cal, it's a .80 cal.

  • i dont think its anti tank.. i think its anti personal and light tanks and under.. not like the abrams tank the usa has...

  • There's fully-auto variations of this weapon....ouch..

  • That is a 20mm lathe

  • Troll get a life

  • she orgasmed twice

  • @xCh34pShOtx lol dude XD

  • 500 meters to the right... hey carl how you doing? Carl? CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!

  • Holy shit !!!!!! nice rifle

  • troll

  • Why is it called "anti-tank gun" ? Can the bullet really pass thru a tank armor ? its hard to believe ...

  • @MrBilbo13 only a WW1 tank

  • @savage495 It was built long after WW I, and although a number of tanks in the early parts of WW II were holdovers, or older designs, that is not strictly true.

  • @MrBilbo13 start to belive then -.-

  • isnt that 20mm not 50 cal? if so thats closer to 79 cal, freakin huge

  • @dtiydr Was never meant to, the gun is 70 yrs old, the tanks it was meant for had armor of between 6mm and 20 mm depending on the model. It was built by Finland as an infantry weapon for use against Soviet tanks of the time,1939. (see: BT-5,BT-7, and T-26.) The L-39 was built in the caliber 20x138mm. the 5+ oz. alloy steel shot gave 40,000 Ft.Lb @ 2,800 fps.

  • @beardo52 Aha, starting to wonder there for a minute but 70 years old? Dam, insane that it had the capabillity to go through 20 mm.

  • @dtiydr It will go through a bit more than 20 mm 40,000Ft.Lbs is alot of energy.

  • @beardo52 Yea, that is the truth.

  • @beardo52 yeah but this one is not a lahti....its a 50 cal conversion that i have seen done on many original lahtis in order to own one more...leagally....

  • @zooders A conversion does not make it something else, its still a Lahti. Its a common enough conversion as several hundred were drilled, and this conversion is the most it will then stand. Some have been converted to drop them from the destructive device list,so there is no form 4 paperwork to do (but only if the conversion is permanent) Some were done to legitimize guns not papered during the 1968 amnesty, I know the story, I've owned one for 35 yrs.

  • @0willsy01 Germany's use of armor was more important than the vehicles they used. the employment of radios in every vehicle gave them a distinct advantage over most of the others who used radios only in cammand tanks. Very sound tactics, very capable leadership. In the beginning anyway. They had some good ideas with the Panther, and tigers, but Germany's industrial base had been so erroded by then that it couldn't produce the quality of machines they might have wished. (slave labor didnt help)

  • wikipedia....ftw...right troll ?

  • @0willsy01 The L-39 was meant to fight soviet tanks of the 1930's which were very thinly armored. See BT-5, BT-7, and T-26. Finland was aligned with Germany against the Soviets for the part of the War where these rifles were used against tanks.

German tanks were not that great, PZK I had 7-13mm armor, PZK II(early) had 10-14mm. Latest model, F had 20-35mm.

PZK III 5-15mm Early, increased to30mm in the mid models. Only in the later III's did Germany catch a clue.

The IVA had 5-15mm IVH 80mm

  • @beardo52 You're absolutely right. When the Brits showed up in North Africa with the Sherman the Germans had nothing to put against it. Obviously by the time the allies landed on the continent things had changed.

  • An anti tank rifle gunner would shoot bullets into the engine, He would also try to hit the ammo box of the tank which would make the tank blow itself up. tanks have weak armor between the wheels and at the rear.

  • Comment removed

  • I want that BB GUN

  • holy shit! try to fire it like...burst mode ya know

  • Gun noob here.

So this thing can literally punch through tank armor? To hit the guys inside? I would have thought there would be more recoil on something this powerful.

  • @ponybcurtis To hit the engine I suppose.

Not all the recoil is directed into the shoulder, and if there's enough velocity on the round it'll punch a tank.

  • @MrThomPS3 Thanks for the answer.
