no. it's not. she's obviously come a long way but has a lot of work ahead of her. giving her material beyond her reach and hyperventilating over her on radio and in videos will not help. if her technical ability was adequate for this she would've learned it in a couple days, not a month. i hope she keeps taking lessons from an excellent teacher and does more work on songs at her skill level. she can do great things.
One doesn't have to be able to do a thing to know if someone else is doing it well. I can't paint like Van Gosh, but I know he's good. But I agree, that " cutting her up" isn't nice, They do it because others that don't know what's good are saying it's great when it's not.

Learning this a month before the video was shot it should be better then this. Not bashing anyone, but she is definately not the BEST 12 year old guitar player. Speed and effects have nothing to do with it, it is the clarity of the notes. Anyone who hasn't pushed themselves to learn guitar and just kinda picked it up should have fingering down in 15 minutes. I did at 12 atleast and I know now many 12 year olds that can play really good. Keep up the good work though.

okay...i've been playing guitar for approx 12 years. EVH was my main inspiration along with Jimmy Page. I must say that the fact that she can't tap right really makes me angry (only because it's one of the easiest moves.) Second, girl's shouldn't be allowed to play EVH. :) It's a tune written by a man for MEN! :)

age doesnt really matter... its all about how long you've been playing and your contribution to it. im 14 and i've been playing for 10 and a half years and im really contributed to it as a guitarist... i practice every day for 3-5 hours. sometimes the whole day lol

the fact is if people dont complain and she thinks that this is good enough then she wont get better. the people that are givin her a hard time are just suggesting on how to improve your playin. if u dont play guitar just stfu dont leave a comment, cause u dont know what is and what isnt hard. eruption isnt hard really pick up a guitar practice everyday for at least 3-5 hours and i bet u can play this better, just play on beat and practice on the clean channel.

age doesnt really matter... its all about how long you've been playing and your contribution to it. im 14 and i've been playing for 10 and a half years and im really contributed to it as a guitarist... i practice every day for 3-5 hours. sometimes the whole day lol

I disagree. Granted, she's a twelve year old in front of a large crowd, but her technique is (was?) sloppy, for lack of a beter word, and it could definitely due with improving. Yes, I was playing at this age. She ought to be better after 2 years of live performing.
