  • yeah defo do a jools holland show

  • Well - GUGUG isn't so much great ukes as just great performers - lots of fun.

  • I'm with fijimon - I just don't get it. Yeah, Julia is cute and has a decent voice (most of the time) but her uke skills are pretty average - her videos go viral while several people here on YouTube who can play and sing rings around her languish with a few thousand views. Somebody like Tamaine who has it all in a bag and then some should be WAYYY more popular than she is! Others to check out (not cute like Tamaine but great ukes) are WS64, KenMiddletonUkulele, and GUGUG.

  • This seem very natural and easy for you. How long have you been playing?

  • If u are on Oahu pls come to see TaI play. She performs at the Sheraton Waikiki, Hano Hano Room, on Saturday nights from 7:30 to 10 and Hyatt Regency Waikiki on Friday nights 6 to 7. Also Royal Hawaiian and Hilton but only does one song in luau at those places.

  • HOW THE HELL ARE YOU NOT MORE POPULAR?!?! I mean "jaaaaaaa" is awesome and cool and all that, but you can shred a ukulele like paper! You rock! As a fellow uker, I totally admire you and think that you totally deserve to be more recognized. I go to college, so I'm gonna see how good word of mouth does. Good luck! (and happy new years!)

  • Aloha, this is BD, I help Taimane's. I agree w/ you I am always surprised that Taimane is not better known. I watched your vid on your channel and I can see u have a sharp mind. Anything u can do or suggest to help boost Taimane's viewership I would appreciate. Her skill is world class and everyone who sees her play, especially in person, are blown away. We need to get more people to see her, both live and, on video. Any suggestions? Also, pls send her vids to as many people as u can.

  • Get in touch with Jools Holland at the BBC UK. He loves talented muscians of all genres and does showcase new acts. If she got on his show it would really boost her viewership.

I've just been given my first ukulele for Christmas this year at the age of 40 by my fiance! I've stumbled upon Tamaine today by accident looking for Eleanor Rigby to play along to.

    I am totally blown away!!

Best wishes to you all for 2010 and hope to hear more of you

    xx

  • @Napolianboo more personal videos would definitely help. Youtubers like people who play good music AND peeping into their life a little bit. Also, the sound quality of the videos can be improved, would it be possible to get a professional sound recording of her performances?

  • @Napolianboo easy answer... play punk covers on uke, insta 1mill views :::;D ps my smiley is a winking spider

  • la mato!

  • Thank u braian123!!

  • have you tried fender guitars?

  • No because I play ukuleles not guitars.

    Aloha

  • I'm blown away! Cool medley arrangement.

  • Aloha TikiBands,

thank you for the compliment. Medleys are used a lot in my music. I like to mix things together and throw in some new things and then come back to the beginning.

    mahalo

  • great

  • mahalo!

  • I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion!

  • Mahalo. Medleys are fun to put together.

  • Napolianboo,we need a full length version of Hawaii Five O on Ukulele

  • Great work as always, Taimane! Hot red jacket looks like a tribute to Michael Jackson's "Beat It"!

Your camera person is doing a better and better job as well. Might need a tripod/monopod to keep camera a little steadier--that would be perfect.

  • I actually was thinking of Michael when I bought it.

  • Very sweet of you! MJ will be missed...

Hey, I am also an amateur uke builder, and noticed on the Hanalima site that you have a uke from them? Did you build one there, and do you play that uke at all? I have bought a tenor kit from them that I'm planning to build one of these days, and was wondering how yours turned out!

  • you rock!

  • Peace, Love, Rock n Roll, Ukulele....Taimane.

    mahalo

  • Wow, these high quality videos you have been uploading lately are really stunning in their detail.... almost as good as being there...well, not really. :-) Still, very nice detail and action videos of you doing your voodo that you do.

  • Yes, this photographer was nice enough to send us what he took. People are so nice sometimes.

  • simply amazing!

  • Thank u very, very much.

  • Brilliant!

  • Mahalo, Grumpy Coyote Tunes!

  • Girl, you rock! Love this tune and your style!!

  • Can't thank you enough for your support!
