it seems to me like square is trying to match western games companies instead of sticking to the Japanese style that made it famous. so far they've not impressed me. ff 13 and nier were both really dissapointing. maybe if I can forget FME is a square enix game, it'll turn out to be good...

Well, there's goes my hope for tactical mech combat. Looks like square enix is going commercial with this one, defecating all over faithful strategy fans in the process. Thanks Square Enix. Quite frankly, I'm not sure. The footage I saw has me a lil worried, but I'm probbably ganna take the risk. I realy think it would've been wise if they did a collector's edition that would include maybe another game of olden days, or a few, that us gamers got riped off on not being able to play. I was so happy to hear that Front Mission was coming to PS3. However, Front Mission Evolved is nothing like I expected. My hope was for another turn-based strategy RPG played more like a chess match - like Front Mission 4 (Final Fantasy Tactics, etc.). Instead, they have appeared to design an inferior version of the computer based game Mech Warrior. This is such a disappointment. Needless to say I won't be buying it until it hits the $10 shelf. I predict this game to be a dud.

I posted it because I am extremely disappointed. You don't make a name for yourself producing one genre of games and then go and change it midstream. That is a dishonest tactic just to try and sell games using their name. I will be skeptical of any games they produce from now on. What's next? Final Fantasy???

you dont get it. FM's SECOND game was a sidescroller platform. The direction of the game could of gone anywhere from the start. So Whatever you just said is invalid.

As for Final Fantasy. They did, that hence mystic quest, tactics, Adventure (SD1), Legends 1-3 (saga 1-3), Dissidia, FFXI online, Crystal chronicles series. Shit the list goes on.

Most of us knew FM as a turn-based strategy - not a 3rd person shooter (on foot or in a Wanzer, its the same). If I want that, I'll go play Call of Duty. Also, producing the game that they have, they'll need to top the Mech Warrior series made by MicroSoft for the PC. But, the gameplay I've seen in these videos highly suggests they've come up very short in that area. Yeah, the breakaway scenes are superior, but that's about it. As for FF, I mentioned FF Tactics.

Haa naa man. I like the mechwarrior series but Mechwarrior 4 looks like a pre alpha test for Evolved. Not to mention the controls in mech is only, set speed 5, move forward in one direction turn body and shoot, recharge lasers. Evolved has a way more smoother and faster pace than current mechwarrior games.

I can understand if you dont want to play a 3rd person game, but the point of a robot game is to take a barrage of hits like a tank. Cod is a one hit death...

i was soo hyped when i heard they were making a new FM, but i see this BS 1st person shooter crap and hate the idea, if i wanted armored core i would have got it!

FM3 was my favorite. dev's need to realise not everyone wants to run about like an fps spaz but sit and think about the game. that's why games like disgaea 3 will be more intelligent and more of a challenge than MW2 ADHD demographic.

Speaking of. The trend of the series is. Tactics (FM1st) then spin off then(FM GH) then Tactics (FM2) then Spin off (FM Alternative),(FM3)(FM4) FMonline) (FM5).

The series if is 2 games over due to a spin off.

While most have dismissed this for not being the turn based gameplay, I feel like that style was kind of beaten to death by the numerous games that appeared prior to this. ive been playing the series since FM3 (could never find FM1-2) and loved how it was a overview mech RTS, honestly if i wanted to play a 3rd person shooter mech game, id play AC simply becuz i wouldnt have to dick around on the ground as a human, and theres more to do instead of talk talk talk mission talk move mission check email talk mission repeat till beaten the game (yes, same can be said about AC)

FM isnt restricted to one genre. Look up FM Alternative(PS1), Online(PS2/PC) and Gun Hazard(SNES).

This is going to be WAY better than Armored core. Why? Because in there will be NO jumping fags. Jumping ACs are so lame. Also NPC always have infinite boost.

Front mission Evolved = FAIR ground combat. Also you can replenish ammo in FO. In AC you have to go through stages and kill 15-20 normal bots just to run out of ammo at the boss AC. FUCK that. I always rage at AC missions. ALWAYS. and i own AC 1-nexus literally. I hate AC, but i love mech
