This shows, like you said, so clearly how much they need eachother and it's sad that the kiss in the actual episode is so... Lame compared to this.
The human form really is the doctor, just not a time lord. It actually would have been horrible if Rose was with the "original" doctor because she'd die and he wouldn't, and that would just be depressing. In my opinion this is the best ending they could have :D Even if they can't travel like they used to, it wouldn't be love if their whole relationship depended on that, right? Besides, Rose will figure out something interesting for them to do. Just my two cents :)
if she didnt kiss the "other" doctor, she would have ran for the Doctor, in which she would upset the balance of yada-yada-yada... its impossible for them to be together but i guess its the next best thing...
@TheDrum808 Well, the only thing that binds "the Doctors" is that they are the same person in the view that they are the same Time Lord and have the same memories as the previous regenerations. Other than that, their personality, preferences and attitudes differ from one another (as when the 9th dr regenerated to the 10th, and he said he didnt know who he was). its normal not to like a brand-new character when it differs greatly from an old one ;p
@MrsPanther09 Exactly. Just watched a preview for this year's xmas special. I was really willing to give it a chance, even after last year's special. But of course, it's fallen below my expectations...like most Doctor Who episodes do now.
I think I'm too much of a faithful viewer to give up watching, but after sitting through last year, AND this year of the new Doctor Who...it's obvious it's just going downhill.
The thing that frustrates me the very most about this is that she just stays! After all that trouble to get back to the Doctor, and she just settles for his stinkin' clone!
It just seemed unRose-like not to have more of a say in that.
@ALPisinfactaPenName And that when she decided to stay with clone-Doctor, she didn't say a proper goodbye to the timelord Doctor. All that effort to get back together, they should at least have said a proper goodbye.
@ALPisinfactaPenName well,it was him.It was him exactly in every detail. But the clone was human. He would age with her, that's why she stayed with the clone.
@StickyCharmander Yeah, I know. But she worked so hard to get back to him, not only to be with him, but to travel--that's sort of the whole basis of their relationship--and they can't do that anymore. I just don't believe that she would give up so easily. This is the girl who broke open the TARDIS just to save the Doctor, and now she's just gonna give it all up for a phony? :/
@ALPisinfactaPenName But,it's not a phony. It's the same Doctor in every way, just human.Though I do agree that after breaking open the Tardis and almost dying just to save him, maybe they could have made a bit more of an effort.
@budsanstuff34 I know. Rose looked to be his chance to start over, after losing so much. I wish could have taken that chance. He deserved some happiness after all that he had been through.
Seriously, why are David Tennant and Billie Piper not together??? I mean come on, I'd say that one is a no brainer....nobody can act that good. lol ;)
You know, this really kills me. Because the real Doctor would have wanted this too in some way. But he can never have her. The Human Doctor has the same feelings for her and this kiss. Oh.. it kills me so much
I keep on watching this over and over again...and having the same butterflies and hyperventilation ever time David Tennant grabs her and pulls her in...holy crap.
It's so happy and so sad, because she finally got what she wanted, but our doctor has to watch that happen, he has to look at someone else - him, but not him - doing what he's been wanting to do for so long, kissing rose, being with rose forever. I know a lot of fans don't like Rose and the Doctor but you can't deny they were in love with each other. And now she's going to get her happily ever after, but he never will. Maybe he'll find contentment, but he'll never get his Rose.
Billie Piper is obviously smiling because she knows she has the best job in the world. Or because she knows David knows he has the best job in the world. We'll never know, as they keep the shot above the waist. Maybe it's both.
Did anyone else hear Rose is making a cameo in Let's Kill Hitler, along with Martha and Donna to help him find Melody? I'd like to think it's true but how would Donna help when she's not supposed to remember him? If anyone can confirm or deny, it'd be much appreciated.
@TheElsewhere19 very highly doubt it. I wish it were true, but you know what the new series is like...not much ever gets mentioned from the specials and back :/
@Rose99991000 Well....Hell. I hate that. I read an article somewhere that they were making a cameo but like you said I highly doubt it too. If Rose, Donna and Martha come back at all it'll be in the 50th anniversary special probably. Hopefully:)
@Rose99991000 I was so mad! Not exactly what I pictured. Lol. You're right though. At least it's something after two years. And hey plus! The first person the TARDIS showed him after he said someone I like is Rose:)
@TheElsewhere19 'Give me guilt!' was pretty dead straight with what happened back a while ago, but I wish Moffat picked his lines a bit more carefully. We want to hear something good about Rose, not something that makes the Doctor look like he regrets knowing her :(
@Rose99991000 I know! Then again Moffat described Rose once as the doctors needy girlfriend so it doesn't surprise me that he would paint her in a negative light. I'm not a huge moffat anyway. Yes he's a good writer but he needs to keep his comments to himself especially considering how many people love Rose.
@TheElsewhere19 I think Moffat enjoys the more classical Doctor Who era, the one without any *true* romance between the Doctor and a companion (I highlighted *true*, because I don't consider the River Song/Doctor flirting moments very romantic. More like being cheeky. Hardly any feeling behind it). Anyway, in one of the series 1 commentaries, Steven actually mentions that he remembered classic Doctor Who for the monsters and the way it scared kids. Explains the lack of emotive drama in series 5+
@Rose99991000 True but the classics are over. T.V has changed. There needs to be romance to the show now for us romantics. I don't count the doctor/river either just amy/rory. The problem with Moffat is that he needs to realize that not just stick to what he wants or likes, head writer or not.
@TheElsewhere19 yes, we need that bit of drama and romance to make the show tick a few of the boxes for the viewers. Without it, it's basically just like every other sci-fi TV show. Doctor Who is practically the only thing sci-fi that I watch, and there was something I just loved about it. Not the monsters or aliens, that's more for the kids. But there was something appealing that RTD gave it that made it better for absolutely everyone, even people who weren't into sci-fi.
@MsLissy09 :) Hey the 50th anniversary is coming up and we may see Rose and Meta crisis again. And maybe even 9. I think it'd be interesting to have Amy and Rory meet the past two incarnations and a past love. Oh and Rose gets to meet 11 too.
@TheElsewhere19 Again, Amen! I would love that to happen! I want it to happen so baddddddddddd! I want Rose and Human Doctor to have a kid as well. Just saying.
@TheElsewhere19 The 50th anniversary will be also be 10 years since I saw Doctor Who on TV for the first time ever. I figured that out just yesterday :)
I started watching the classic series with 'The Unearthly Child' back when they were doing Doctor Who reruns in 2003, celebrating the 40th Doctor Who anniversary. I was only about 7 back then, so I really got to enjoy Doctor Who as a real kid would in the 1960's, and I still got to see the revived series as well two years after.
@Rose99991000 I'm looking forward to it if Moffat does right by the fans and brings old doctors back. Even Matt Smith has said in interviews he would love to see 10 come back, maybe even 9 and Karen Gillian said Rose was her favorite companion. So we'll see. I'll admit though, I haven't seen any of the old episodes yet.
@TheElsewhere19 Haha, I love Karen 10 times more than I used to now :P I doubt Matt will still be the actual Doctor in 2013, but hopefully he will come back too. As much as I prefer David's Doctor, Matt is still something :)
And it may be just me, but I've noticed that Murray Gold's music has been a lot more different than it was in David's era. And in my honest opinion, the music of Doctor Who plays a HUGE part for the show! But I think since series 5, the music hasn't been as good...
@Rose99991000 Really? I thought a producer said Matt had a contract through 2013? I could be wrong. I just think it would make sense to bring David back because so many people loved him and if you're going to bring the 10th doctor back, meta-crisis or not, they should really bring Rose back too. It's hard to like some of the new music, yeah. 5th series is okay but the 6th series music has been pretty good. I just wish they would release it. Did you see The Girl Who Waited tonight?
@TheElsewhere19 We get it just one week after the U.K. So I will see it soon. Apparently it wasn't that good or something. I was a bit disappointed for the last two eps....although I did spoil 'Let's Kill Hitler' for myself by looking it up on youtube, haha. It would be a wise move for the writers to add in all the old characters from the revived series into a 50th anniversary special, just to give the fans what they want!
@TheElsewhere19 And you're probably right about Matt, but 4 years just seems so long for him to be on the role (it's ok for David because no one can top his Doctor :P)
@Rose99991000 Personally he can stay on as long as he likes if Steven Moffat will let someone else write the overarching story. He wrote some of the best episodes during Eccleston and Tennant's runs, but his storylines for Matt Smith are dreaful.
@TheElsewhere19 I'm still waiting for closing time on iview. Hopefully its ok and I'm praying to god, the cybermen aren't made a mockery of, like what happened to the daleks in last year's ep.
@TheElsewhere19 Craig was wasn't bad, and neither was Matt. But Steven has officially ruined two of the famous Doctor Who monsters now, making them look too soft. The Dalek and Cybermen's days of owning the series finales are over!
Well, that's season 6 over. Hurry up to season 8 so we can get our 50th anniversary reunion special!!
@TheElsewhere19 Oh I know! At least we know River dies at some point, so the marriage can never be a big thing in the series. I don't mind River, but she's getting too much credit for nothing :/ I think everyone loves the eleventh Doctor so much because a lot of fans have actually started watching Doctor Who in 2010. The head-writer switchover was publicized heaps, making the series more known.
@Rose99991000 Good points. I don't mind her either but she's more obsessed with him than in love I think. Watching The Wedding of River Song over again, it's lead me to think that he isn't in love with her. He may love her but not actual 'OMG ILOVEYOUSOMUCH' type love. Lol. Her story line is getting rather old too.
@TheElsewhere19 yes, River doesn't portray a woman who is actually in love with the Doctor. She just admires him a lot. Rose on the other hand not only loved the Doctor, but treated him as an equal. Really, they both had mutual respect for each other....that, and many other things, is what made the Rose/Doctor pairing so fantastic!! ...And so touching :'(
And am I the only one who gets butterflies re-watching the good old episodes of series 1 and 2? ahh <3
@Rose99991000 No I get them too! We may see Rose and Meta-Crisis in the 50th too! I hope series 7 is the last we'll see of River for awhile. I like her as a stand alone character just not as the Doctor's 'wife.'
@TheElsewhere19 Well I know I have high expectations for next year's series now. This is Matt's 3rd series? So kind of close to series 4, David's 3rd year. I know that season was a pretty good one, wondering if Moffat will be able to match it.
I didn't really like when the ninth Doctor left, but I was very happy with the tenth just only one or two episodes in.
Two series with the eleventh and I'm still not satisfied :/
@TheElsewhere19 I guess we could do worse. Matt had some pretty big shoes to fill, so after David, he had the pretty tough job of having to keep the Doctor's character working. And it wasn't easy with Russell T leaving as well. The show depended on him.
@TheElsewhere19 Exactly, we didn't get attached to Chris as much as we did to David. We fell in love with him, hard and fast. Don't get me wrong, I think Matt's very good (I think all of them are good, in their own way), he's just different.
@soldiergirl84 And by the sounds of that prophecy at the end of The Wedding of River Song, we may be getting used to another Doctor after next series.
@Rose99991000 I agree with the music comment 100%. It is totally different and adds nothing to the emotion. I cried in many episodes during the Tennant years, plus always was eager for the next episode ("OMG! Now, what happens?"). I haven't watched an episode since "Let's Kill Hitler." I'm always disappointed and I feel nothing. The music is a big part of that.
@WolfpackRules Nooo are you serious? The music for Eleven is freaking amazing! There's this one piece of music that always gives me shivers or tears in my eyes when it starts up...
@SpiirytStarrchild Yeah. I'm serious. Never mind, though -- I don't watch it anymore. I gave it through Series 5 and half (plus one) of 6. Just doesn't interest me anymore. It's lost its appeal to me.
@Rose99991000 I agree! I think RTD was much better at writing relationship dialogue. I grew to care about and love the characters. Now? I don't care about them and I have quit watching -- I just don't enjoy it now.
@Rose99991000 He doesn't regret knowing her, the whole point was he regrets "messing her life up" as he said himself. Notice how he didn't object to seeing her image on the grounds he didn't like her, just that he didn't want to die with his last thought being that he'd screwed up the life of the woman he loved.
@Micromusecut i like to think so!! :-) which i why i love this extended scene where he kisses her back more intensely...like he's been waiting to do that for years! ;-)
@DobbysUnmatchedSocks Just so you know, they took DT's name off of the IMDb Cast List for 6x13... I was so excited because I thought he was going to be in it, but then I checked his filmography yesterday and realized he wasn't listed anymore... :(
As much as I would love a Rose/DoctoroneHeart and current cast scenario, you know it doesn't flow with the laws. They can only cross dimensions when something is tearing through which is always a =BIG BAD!
i love them

Doctor Who is practically the only thing sci-fi that I watch, and there was something I just loved about it. Not the monsters or aliens, that's more for the kids. But there was something appealing that RTD gave it that made it better for absolutely everyone, even people who weren't into sci-fi.

@Rose99991000 I know right. I do miss RTD but moffat fine too. He just needs to be careful what comments he makes is all.

@TheElsewhere19 @Rose99991000 Amen to everything you all said.

@MsLissy09 :) Hey the 50th anniversary is coming up and we may see Rose and Meta crisis again. And maybe even 9. I think it'd be interesting to have Amy and Rory meet the past two incarnations and a past love. Oh and Rose gets to meet 11 too.
TheElsewhere19 4 months ago
@TheElsewhere19 Again, Amen! I would love that to happen! I want it to happen so baddddddddddd! I want Rose and Human Doctor to have a kid as well. Just saying.
MsLissy09 4 months ago
@MsLissy09 Or two kids.....Or three, hell maybe four lol
TheElsewhere19 4 months ago
@TheElsewhere19 The 50th anniversary will be also be 10 years since I saw Doctor Who on TV for the first time ever. I figured that out just yesterday :)
I started watching the classic series with 'The Unearthly Child' back when they were doing Doctor Who reruns in 2003, celebrating the 40th Doctor Who anniversary. I was only about 7 back then, so I really got to enjoy Doctor Who as a real kid would in the 1960's, and I still got to see the revived series as well two years after.
Rose99991000 4 months ago
@Rose99991000 I'm looking forward to it if Moffat does right by the fans and brings old doctors back. Even Matt Smith has said in interviews he would love to see 10 come back, maybe even 9 and Karen Gillian said Rose was her favorite companion. So we'll see. I'll admit though, I haven't seen any of the old episodes yet.
TheElsewhere19 4 months ago
@TheElsewhere19 Haha, I love Karen 10 times more than I used to now :P I doubt Matt will still be the actual Doctor in 2013, but hopefully he will come back too. As much as I prefer David's Doctor, Matt is still something :)
And it may be just me, but I've noticed that Murray Gold's music has been a lot more different than it was in David's era. And in my honest opinion, the music of Doctor Who plays a HUGE part for the show! But I think since series 5, the music hasn't been as good...
Rose99991000 4 months ago 4
@Rose99991000 Really? I thought a producer said Matt had a contract through 2013? I could be wrong. I just think it would make sense to bring David back because so many people loved him and if you're going to bring the 10th doctor back, meta-crisis or not, they should really bring Rose back too. It's hard to like some of the new music, yeah. 5th series is okay but the 6th series music has been pretty good. I just wish they would release it. Did you see The Girl Who Waited tonight?
TheElsewhere19 4 months ago
@TheElsewhere19 We get it just one week after the U.K. So I will see it soon. Apparently it wasn't that good or something. I was a bit disappointed for the last two eps....although I did spoil 'Let's Kill Hitler' for myself by looking it up on youtube, haha. It would be a wise move for the writers to add in all the old characters from the revived series into a 50th anniversary special, just to give the fans what they want!
Rose99991000 4 months ago
@TheElsewhere19 And you're probably right about Matt, but 4 years just seems so long for him to be on the role (it's ok for David because no one can top his Doctor :P)
Rose99991000 4 months ago 5
@Rose99991000 Personally he can stay on as long as he likes if Steven Moffat will let someone else write the overarching story. He wrote some of the best episodes during Eccleston and Tennant's runs, but his storylines for Matt Smith are dreaful.

@TheElsewhere19 I'm still waiting for closing time on iview. Hopefully its ok and I'm praying to god, the cybermen aren't made a mockery of, like what happened to the daleks in last year's ep.

@Rose99991000 You'll LOVE it. Craig is great.
TheElsewhere19 3 months ago
@TheElsewhere19 Craig was wasn't bad, and neither was Matt. But Steven has officially ruined two of the famous Doctor Who monsters now, making them look too soft. The Dalek and Cybermen's days of owning the series finales are over!
Well, that's season 6 over. Hurry up to season 8 so we can get our 50th anniversary reunion special!!
Rose99991000 3 months ago 4
@Rose99991000 I know right! And if Moffet doesn't bring Rose and Meta-Crisis back I am going to scream. Despite marrying River Song, which I hate.
TheElsewhere19 3 months ago 6
@TheElsewhere19 Oh I know! At least we know River dies at some point, so the marriage can never be a big thing in the series. I don't mind River, but she's getting too much credit for nothing :/ I think everyone loves the eleventh Doctor so much because a lot of fans have actually started watching Doctor Who in 2010. The head-writer switchover was publicized heaps, making the series more known.
Rose99991000 3 months ago 8
@Rose99991000 Good points. I don't mind her either but she's more obsessed with him than in love I think. Watching The Wedding of River Song over again, it's lead me to think that he isn't in love with her. He may love her but not actual 'OMG ILOVEYOUSOMUCH' type love. Lol. Her story line is getting rather old too.
TheElsewhere19 3 months ago 7
@TheElsewhere19 yes, River doesn't portray a woman who is actually in love with the Doctor. She just admires him a lot. Rose on the other hand not only loved the Doctor, but treated him as an equal. Really, they both had mutual respect for each other....that, and many other things, is what made the Rose/Doctor pairing so fantastic!! ...And so touching :'(
And am I the only one who gets butterflies re-watching the good old episodes of series 1 and 2? ahh <3
Rose99991000 3 months ago 18
@Rose99991000 No I get them too! We may see Rose and Meta-Crisis in the 50th too! I hope series 7 is the last we'll see of River for awhile. I like her as a stand alone character just not as the Doctor's 'wife.'
TheElsewhere19 3 months ago 8
@TheElsewhere19 Well I know I have high expectations for next year's series now. This is Matt's 3rd series? So kind of close to series 4, David's 3rd year. I know that season was a pretty good one, wondering if Moffat will be able to match it.
I didn't really like when the ninth Doctor left, but I was very happy with the tenth just only one or two episodes in.
Two series with the eleventh and I'm still not satisfied :/
Rose99991000 2 months ago
@Rose99991000 I agree. Although I do love Matt. It took a little longer to like him though than the transition from 9 to 10.
TheElsewhere19 2 months ago 4
@TheElsewhere19 I guess we could do worse. Matt had some pretty big shoes to fill, so after David, he had the pretty tough job of having to keep the Doctor's character working. And it wasn't easy with Russell T leaving as well. The show depended on him.
Rose99991000 2 months ago
@TheElsewhere19 Exactly, we didn't get attached to Chris as much as we did to David. We fell in love with him, hard and fast. Don't get me wrong, I think Matt's very good (I think all of them are good, in their own way), he's just different.
soldiergirl84 2 months ago 5
@soldiergirl84 And by the sounds of that prophecy at the end of The Wedding of River Song, we may be getting used to another Doctor after next series.
TheElsewhere19 2 months ago
@Rose99991000 I agree with the music comment 100%. It is totally different and adds nothing to the emotion. I cried in many episodes during the Tennant years, plus always was eager for the next episode ("OMG! Now, what happens?"). I haven't watched an episode since "Let's Kill Hitler." I'm always disappointed and I feel nothing. The music is a big part of that.
WolfpackRules 4 months ago 3
@WolfpackRules Nooo are you serious? The music for Eleven is freaking amazing! There's this one piece of music that always gives me shivers or tears in my eyes when it starts up...
SpiirytStarrchild 4 months ago
@SpiirytStarrchild Yeah. I'm serious. Never mind, though -- I don't watch it anymore. I gave it through Series 5 and half (plus one) of 6. Just doesn't interest me anymore. It's lost its appeal to me.
WolfpackRules 4 months ago 2
@Rose99991000 I agree! I think RTD was much better at writing relationship dialogue. I grew to care about and love the characters. Now? I don't care about them and I have quit watching -- I just don't enjoy it now.
WolfpackRules 4 months ago 7
@Rose99991000 He doesn't regret knowing her, the whole point was he regrets "messing her life up" as he said himself. Notice how he didn't object to seeing her image on the grounds he didn't like her, just that he didn't want to die with his last thought being that he'd screwed up the life of the woman he loved.
PompamooseMagique 4 months ago
@PompamooseMagique yeah, basically what I meant. Just without the right kind of wording you used :P

As much as I would love a Rose/DoctoroneHeart and current cast scenario, you know it doesn't flow with the laws. They can only cross dimensions when something is tearing through which is always a =BIG BAD!
