@damiandrifts no way man. just take that $7-8k that it would cost to drop a 2jz in a mk2 and put it in the 5m. U will have a very solid engine after that much cash. Everyone resorts to the 2jz just because they think its the easy way to power. All supra engines have great potential. a built 5m would be all the engine a mk2 supra would need. plus nobody builds them anymore and its unique when u see one.

@boricua1142005 why would u swap? a 7mgte has the same potential as 1jz, 2jz. There are 1300+hp 7m's too guys. 400hp in a mk3 is about perfect. Anything past that then u will start having traction problems.

the 7m's that are making 1000+ horsepower are specially modified and would set you back a healthy sum of money to get to that, though it is a good engine. the 1JZ was an improvement on the 7m

@TheKneekap if they arent as reliable then why is the stock block record for a 7m 750hp. In my eyes if was far from an improvement. going from a long stroke 3l to a high revving 2.5l. If u want ANY engine to make 1000+hp it will be heavily modified.If ur one of those guys that think 2jz's can handle 1000hp on stock block then ur fooled. The only improvement they made to the 1jz is that the head flows like crazy. 7m's are slept on because of the BHG ordeal. a built 7m's torque is unbelievable

@mkIIIsupras Actually, I personally know a tuner who bought a 2JZ just to see how far it would go on the stock block. He got 3 pulls at 1040whp on a MKIV Supra. On the 4th pull the #4 rod let go. Same guy who tuned my Supra. Forcefed in Abbotsford B.C.
