What I learned over the coming months after this, that the only thing that pissed me off more than the terrorist threats, was the conspiracy theorists
I will never forget that day.The smell was the worst after it was over. It was a rancid but sweet, sickening smell. All I could think of was that I was smelling the bodies of 1000's of people burning. The silence was deafening. Normally America is such a loud place - Americans take comfort in and love that constant loudness. We took the kids to the park because we didn't know what else to do. The silence at the park was completely frightening. Even the children were silent. Just horrible.
Before 9/11, planes that were hijacked weren't used to crash into buildings. They were held for ransom, and once they landed, the hostage takers would be arrested or killed.

I'm now nearly twenty years old and the images I saw that day has never left my mind. My heart goes out to all the victims and their families.

the 60 years NORAD has been around, that on June 20,2001, Dick Cheney took control of that agency and was in charge of giving or denying a plane shoot down order on 9/11. Learn something before you talk...at the time, the mission of NORAD wasn't civil air defense, or management of the civilian air ways. Its still not the mission of NORAD, but of NORTHCOM. And at the time, there was no reason to not have military jets scrambled immediately. Once the second tower had been hit, it was obviously a terror attack, but its impossible to get all jets grounded immediately. There are too many. And the military didn't let anything fly awhile after.

I remeber being jealous that i could get out earlier. But when I got home my parents were quiet and wouldn't do anything but watch the news. Learn something before you talk...at the time, the mission of NORAD wasn't civil air defense, or management of the civilian air ways. Its still not the mission of NORAD, but of NORTHCOM. And at the time, there was no reason to not have military jets scrambled immediately. Once the second tower had been hit, it was obviously a terror attack, but its impossible to get all jets grounded immediately. There are too many. And the military didn't let anything fly awhile after.

I was just 5 when the Twin Towers incident happened. It was not until 2007 that I discovered what actually happened. The media likes to keep quiet and forget 9/11 nowadays, only obliquely referencing it than head-on showing it.

NO ONE has ever adequately given an explanation as to WHY these four aircraft - capable of carrying THREE times the number of passengers that they can were SO lightly loaded. I've only ever heard ONE time on a radio show, a host bring up "block" reservations of people who then don't show. It's VERY strange. Even in those days, you'd think it VERY odd to dispatch a 767 with only 60 something people onboard. Any info/ideas? Anyone?

I can't believe this happend. Me and my parents were driving to my grandparents when we heard about 9/11. Since we lived in New Jersey at the time we could actually see smoke in the air and hear the North Tower collapse. It was horrible.

It would mean that the West has done absolutely nothing against the true perputrators of the biggest terrorrist act on American soil. the wtc was a huge asbestos filled "white elephant" whose legal demolition was far to costly,the towers were demolished by elements within the U.S gov / military with the full co-operation of the media & owner (who made a fortune) and the imeediate blame placed on al qaeda (CIA invented) and planes added to provide the "shock" needed to ensure the public support for the non-existant and never ending "war on terror"
