Jimi Hendrix got on stage and performed this with War at Ronnie Scotts club a day before he died. Jimi was fantastic as usual and its the best version of Mother Earth i've ever heard!
Saw them in Fairbanks at the Gold Dome and they did about a half hour jam on this tune! Got really heavy and I climbed the dome on the outside (There was someone climbing the walls on the inside, wasn't working to good!) and laid back on it and just felt it! What a trip...
@firstladymeg -- Thanks but envy is not necessary. Try to picture the guy inside the Dome climbing the walls, in a dome!!!? The spray on insulation gave way rather shortly and he would fall to the floor, running back to the wall!! That was what drove me outside. The Gold Dome is now an air museum! After all the 'flying' that went on in that place in the 60's and 70's to now house airplanes!
@lowriderbandfan None of those great crossover Rock/R & B bands could make it commercially despite being great. The old Jeff Beck Group couldn't make it. Terry Reid couldn't make it. War had hits but only made it so big. But the shit's smoking and after all these years you see how great they all really were.
Eric sounds amazing but you can tell this was his period of ROCK BOTTOM with his drinking and drug problems. It's very painful to watch. so glad he found his way out.
Thanx The problem was with my Linux box, some weirdness where a program takes over the sound and won't give it back without a reboot.
This is a great clip of both Eric and the band War. Wonderful blues.
Is the video available somewhere? I work in the field. no Internet. I really count on downloads to take my music with me. YouTube has value only because all the people have taken the time to contribute. No copyright infringement intended, but a lot of the stuff you can't get elsewhere
@montraux1976 Yeah this one keeps echoing in my mind alot lately ... thats why im watching it again :D ... thank you for sharing this. I wish i had this whole concert.

WAR, one of the best bands that should have been in the R&RHOF a long time ago and didn't get their propers in 2009.
Peace.
