And on another note, this is how it is played in Guitar World Magazine, and the blink-182 tablature book, endorsed BY BLINK-182. Kay. I don't care how Tom plays it live. This is how I play it.

its called an octave...your "tom chord"

and blink dosn't play in drop d. tom uses a capo on the second fret

but it sounds fine your way too

btw, I taught myself, so that's why I don't know octaves... and in the guitar book (for the whole album) I have, it says drop-d, same with guitar world magazine. But yes, I have seen Tom play it with the capo

its not in drop d

tom puts a capo on the high e, b, g and a strings and not the low e string so that when he plays the top 3 strings its an e powerchord

Thanks, but I gotta ask, are you saying only pitch perfect people should know how to play guitar? Also, you can't learn how to play by ear until you know the guitar. It's not a piano, and I feel most songs should be taken time to learn how to play and even if it's by ear, should then be written down so it can be constructed longer.
