You shoot it in head head twice because you may have only as i like to call it "skimmed the brain." This will only stun a zombie. If you see a golfball sized hole in their forehead there arn't getting back up.

@warlord7733 Nothing wrong with a 1911, awesome gun, but you need more than that. My Z.A. weapons: M1 .30 Carbine with five 15 shot mags mags, a Remington 870 12 gauge that holds 7+1 ( an additional 5 rounds on side saddle), a Springfield XD(M) .40 (16+1) with 5 mags, two .357 revolvers, and an assortment of different knives and machetes. You need to be able to fight off zombies at a distance as well as at super close range. I also have several hundred extra rounds for all aforementioned guns.
@centurion205 and do you have a horse to carry all that? how about spare parts such as trigger springs and sears, (the M1 spring breaks alot) and the tools and skill to work on these weapons? how about the skill to even hit a moving target at rang under the stress of your life being on the line?
@breakerace6 I've practiced carrying all that at once. I have a tactical vest that will carry my shotgun, my XD(M), my 2 revolvers, pouches for ammo & other gear as well as a 3 Liter camelback on it. I have a ModGear backpack that can hold extra ammo, 5 days worth of food, water, first aid kit, and some extra clothes. I do happen to have spare parts. I have gone out in the country side & was able to hike all day with all this gear. Yes, very tiring and had to keep steady pace, but it is doable.

Think medevial times with those big ass swords, clubs, maces, and spears. True it may be hard to find good quality replicas of those here in America, but I'm sure you chaps over there prob have an assortment of these weapons. Look into Max Brooks' Zombie Survival Guide to study up on killin zombies.
@breakerace6 Here's the thing though. That carbine was my grandfather's, and in the 60 years it's been in my family, it hasn't broken but once. I've practiced shooting at an outdoor range with all this gear strapped on. True I had to stop and aim with the carbine, but the shotgun and pistols are close range weapons anyway, all you need is a headshot. I'm no zombie expert but I have been training for this on and off for a few years now. If the zombies do break out, you and me should go hunting...
@centurion205 I doubt (no offense) that you will have that kind of accuarcy during a zombie outbreak. Think about it, you'd be scared out of your damn mind- doesn't matter if you've killed someone or your tough as nails, you'd be scared. A 'headshot' is really hard to get even without pressure, but with this much stress you will miss.

But after hunting hogs in the backwoods of Texas for the last 10 years, shooting while driving my truck, ATV's and also while running at them, I'm not too bad of a shot. I don't use little AR15 bullet for my kills. I like the good ol fashioned 00 buckshot and my shotgun. Just for grins, I've trained to shoot moving targets while on the move. I confess I'm no Buffalo Bill, but no shooting noob......

@KcTenniz I've grown up around guns for the last 15 years of my life. I can shoot rifle and pistol ok, but my personal favorate is the shotgun. It kicks like a mule, but the recieveing end is oh so sweet ! I've trained with my shotgun for the last 10 years. I'm no sniper, but anything that gets within 20 yards (50 feet) is gonna get wasted. You should try shooting at least once in your life. Hell, make a day of it. Rent some guns, and see what you like. It'll tell you what your best at shooting.

@KcTenniz My shotgun has been modified to hold 7 rounds + has a side saddle for 5 extra rounds. It's a wooden stock, so I can bash something in the face and not damage my gun. It's an awesome assault / defense weapon. True that it's shot is loud as hell, but if you got a dozen or so zombies coming at you, sounds area the last thing you should worry about. In addition to the shotgun, I'm profficient with my Springfield XD(M) pistol. Holds 16 of the 40 S&W rounds, very accurate and devestating.

modified to hold 7 rounds? 95% of shotguns out there come standard with 7 round tubes, so i dont know what that means....look up the new keltech ksg bullpup shotgun thats supposed to come out this spring its like it was designed for zombies, holds 14+1 in side by side tubes, about 30 inches OAL with stock, but bullpup so long barrel = more power & tighter spread .one of the many guns on my to my list that havent even come out yet. i have taken to zombie or apocaliptic survival very seriously
@ninja6kid When i bought the shotgun, it was only able to hold 4 rounds. I added a magazine extension, bought a longer barrel, as well as the side saddle. It actually came with a synthetic stock, but I intentially swapped out the wooden stock so that when I run out of rounds, I can use it to bash people or zombies in the face. 14+1 shotgun rounds? Thats a lot of weight. I'm not too crazy about KelTec. I've had a lot of bad experiences with their pistols so I tend to stay away from them.

guns Vs zombies is a bad idea. u will run out of ammo and they can't shoot you so it seems pointless... swords would be the best way to go; swords, machetes, maces, axes. one in each hand and keep a couple others on your back just in case they break or get lost in the fray. 3-4 mil thick leather armour covering your whole body. although it would be good to carry a medium range firearm for safe keeping. or if you are a fatty or a whimp who can't wield a melee weapon for long, i'd go for a shotgun

Healonator actually the most likely would be a mutated strain of rabies that instead of leaving the brain thus killing them it would stay and rabies has many similarities such as . A moaning/gurgling sound due to a closed asophogus and the disease is transfered through saliva and blood ( being bitten) so thats the most likely form.

zombies from i am legend are most likely what they would be like. there is no real reason for brain function to be limited unless theyve taken a bullet in the head and not gone down. if its been jumbled then maybe that would explain the stumbling and slow movement. or if the virus attacks the brain. otherwise, they would be faster and stronger. but safe to say, not smarter. but zombies arent real so this is theory and all bs anyhow. but you never know. attack of the mad clones?

@warlord7733 Nothing wrong with a 1911, awesome gun, but you need more than that. My Z.A. weapons: M1 .30 Carbine with five 15 shot mags mags, a Remington 870 12 gauge that holds 7+1 ( an additional 5 rounds on side saddle), a Springfield XD(M) .40 (16+1) with 5 mags, two .357 revolvers, and an assortment of different knives and machetes. You need to be able to fight off zombies at a distance as well as at super close range. I also have several hundred extra rounds for all aforementioned guns.

@breakerace6 I've practiced carrying all that at once. I have a tactical vest that will carry my shotgun, my XD(M), my 2 revolvers, pouches for ammo & other gear as well as a 3 Liter camelback on it. I have a ModGear backpack that can hold extra ammo, 5 days worth of food, water, first aid kit, and some extra clothes. I do happen to have spare parts. I have gone out in the country side & was able to hike all day with all this gear. Yes, very tiring and had to keep steady pace, but it is doable.

@miniman631 Well no disrespect to you or our friends across the pond, but yeah, ya'll are pretty screwed if the zombie outbreak does happen. But it's not just guns that are useful in killing zombies. Think medevial times with those big ass swords, clubs, maces, and spears. True it may be hard to find good quality replicas of those here in America, but I'm sure you chaps over there prob have an assortment of these weapons. Look into Max Brooks' Zombie Survival Guide to study up on killin zombies.

@breakerace6 Here's the thing though. That carbine was my grandfather's, and in the 60 years it's been in my family, it hasn't broken but once. I've practiced shooting at an outdoor range with all this gear strapped on. True I had to stop and aim with the carbine, but the shotgun and pistols are close range weapons anyway, all you need is a headshot. I'm no zombie expert but I have been training for this on and off for a few years now. If the zombies do break out, you and me should go hunting...

@centurion205 I doubt (no offense) that you will have that kind of accuarcy during a zombie outbreak. Think about it, you'd be scared out of your damn mind- doesn't matter if you've killed someone or your tough as nails, you'd be scared. A 'headshot' is really hard to get even without pressure, but with this much stress you will miss.

@KcTenniz I truely hope none of us will ever find out how good we are in a zombie outbreak world. But after hunting hogs in the backwoods of Texas for the last 10 years, shooting while driving my truck, ATV's and also while running at them, I'm not too bad of a shot. I don't use little AR15 bullet for my kills. I like the good ol fashioned 00 buckshot and my shotgun. Just for grins, I've trained to shoot moving targets while on the move. I confess I'm no Buffalo Bill, but no shooting noob......

@KcTenniz I've grown up around guns for the last 15 years of my life. I can shoot rifle and pistol ok, but my personal favorate is the shotgun. It kicks like a mule, but the recieveing end is oh so sweet ! I've trained with my shotgun for the last 10 years. I'm no sniper, but anything that gets within 20 yards (50 feet) is gonna get wasted. You should try shooting at least once in your life. Hell, make a day of it. Rent some guns, and see what you like. It'll tell you what your best at shooting.

@KcTenniz My shotgun has been modified to hold 7 rounds + has a side saddle for 5 extra rounds. It's a wooden stock, so I can bash something in the face and not damage my gun. It's an awesome assault / defense weapon. True that it's shot is loud as hell, but if you got a dozen or so zombies coming at you, sounds area the last thing you should worry about. In addition to the shotgun, I'm profficient with my Springfield XD(M) pistol. Holds 16 of the 40 S&W rounds, very accurate and devestating.

modified to hold 7 rounds? 95% of shotguns out there come standard with 7 round tubes, so i dont know what that means....look up the new keltech ksg bullpup shotgun thats supposed to come out this spring its like it was designed for zombies, holds 14+1 in side by side tubes, about 30 inches OAL with stock, but bullpup so long barrel = more power & tighter spread .one of the many guns on my to my list that havent even come out yet. i have taken to zombie or apocaliptic survival very seriously

@ninja6kid When i bought the shotgun, it was only able to hold 4 rounds. I added a magazine extension, bought a longer barrel, as well as the side saddle. It actually came with a synthetic stock, but I intentially swapped out the wooden stock so that when I run out of rounds, I can use it to bash people or zombies in the face. 14+1 shotgun rounds? Thats a lot of weight. I'm not too crazy about KelTec. I've had a lot of bad experiences with their pistols so I tend to stay away from them.

guns Vs zombies is a bad idea. u will run out of ammo and they can't shoot you so it seems pointless... swords would be the best way to go; swords, machetes, maces, axes. one in each hand and keep a couple others on your back just in case they break or get lost in the fray. 3-4 mil thick leather armour covering your whole body. although it would be good to carry a medium range firearm for safe keeping. or if you are a fatty or a whimp who can't wield a melee weapon for long, i'd go for a shotgun
