you all named some great fighters Cashman? not sure he should even be mentioned with the others, Playfair was a bad ass, and Dave Brown was another monster in his time.
I'm not saying he never got whipped, but he was the best fighter I ever saw. As far as fighting now, maybe he's past his prime. But now days they grab and wrestle too much. Wayne could punch.
cashman was one of the most exciting fighters for sure.....i dunno about the best but im not gonna criticize someones opinion........id go with larry playfair.....in his prime he had a win streak that was more impressive than big george becasue playfair actually killed guys
Sorry dude, The Hammer was not that great of a fighter, he was just a maniac. Anytime Dave started eating punches the rest of the team jumped in. Not to say he wasn't tough, but Nick Fotiu for one owned him.

The best fighter in NHL history is Wayne Cashman. He'd stomp Laraques' butt.

Really? I just watched 3 fights where Cashman was the punching bag. Kelly, Schonfeld and Schultz, they all beat him bad.
And Cashman is like 70 now. I don't think he can even skate anymore. LoL

Big George is strong and has real good balance, but some of the old fighters could punch. They didn't seem to wrestle as much as they do today.

I'd say Laraque is ONE of the best fighters in nhl history. He's my favourite too, but there has been lots of great fighters before him as well :)

try Dave Shultz of the Broad Street Bullies. AND he doesnt wrestle like a little girl when he starts losing, like Laraque.
