  • wait a second! Okay so I want to become a dentist does this mean that I will be doing this kind of stuff?! Or is this just a speciallty job like an oral surgeon?? Because I hate this.. : /

  • Now LIsten to my Parodies about dental school!!! Search Jeff Litman, Dental school Parody UMDNJ!!

  • Couldn't show this to my students due to no mask! This is dental school?

  • Extractions should be less painful then a cavity fixing.Especially when dentist dont want to give you anestetics. In Serbia dentists are morons, they always prefer to massacre yourself while they are cleaning cavity instead of giving you anestetics and solving problem in short time.

  • i hope this was a real patient who needed an actual extraction ;/

  • It's not easy to get a deploma for dentistry!!!!!

  • @Champ675 : It ain't cheap either.

  • piece of fucken cake... you should put one for a wisdom...

  • u have fillings?

  • awesome..

  • dam

  • worst technique...no operator position,,,no hand support...nothing...dont follow this video

  • wow that was awsome i had 3 teeth pulled yesterday

  • Which is the best dental school?

  • Ah, a good learning opprtunity for you under achievers in dental school!

  • I had nitrous oxide and Septocaine for my last root canal, it was the first of 7 procedures that was "pleasant"

  • Hell yes for SEPTOCAINE!!!!

  • that looks so horribly painful. im a dental assistant and i always get alil nervy when they perform extractions.

  • It wasn't painful at all. novocaine and nitrous put me in a good place.

  • @jerseyyy21

yes, yes,as for me, maybe i'm still a 2nd year dental student but i guess it is pretty hard to erase my nervous feeling everytime i open up my fren's mouth(in case we do some practicum) and then try to examine it with simple dental tools, imagine, if it comes to extracting teeth. :D , i have to work harder.

  • @jerseyyy21 I shadowed an OMFS and a Neurosurgeon who specialized in spinal surgery and I have to say that I agree with you. I got more nervy watching a wisdom tooth extraction than I did watching the neurosurgeon expose the freaking spinal cord (mind you this was AFTER he dug through the spinal column).

  • Het dear being a dentist is nice thing because i m also a dentist...... take care...

  • No mask???

  • Hey dental sctudents and dentists!!! Check out my dental songs on yourube. Search for "thats just dental school" and Student dentist"

  • This is why I love temple. The seniors teach the juniors how to extract 1-2 times and then we go by ourselves to extract.

  • and i would say that we do quite well given Temple's "dive right in" philosophy. you may come watch me do a few extractions if you need the experience, ben ;)

  • :) LOL

Just different teaching philosophies, that's all! I am always willing to learn a few new techniques.

  • Do they still teach you to Fig. 8 the tooth before attempting to extract it?

  • sweet mother of god, hahah

  • This is Dr.Hershman at Oral Surgery dept at NYU college of dentistry.....lol how long ago was this taken???????????

  • This video was taken in 2008

  • @diezel69x Thanks for taking care of my tooth! I floss now!

  • what is the name of that dentist?

  • This is great im currently a pre-dent student i cant wait...lol

  • and I'm a 1st year proper student. :)

I'm having fun in our dental materials class. hehe....It's quite hard in the lecture class but the laboratory work is so exciting.

  • i am still currently in high school and i am wondering how high does your GPA have to be to get into dental school?

  • an average of about 3.5 or so in college

  • because of these hard economic times do you think that you can transfer into a dental school with 2 years of community college. Or do you have to go to a 4 year university.

  • ohh nooo... absolutely not.. it is very competitive to get into a dental school.. its already ahrd enough from going to a 4 year school... go to google and type how to become a dentist and it will show you how many years of school you have to do and steps and requirements

  • @islespatrick Definitely not. Almost every student entering dental school has at least a Bachelor's degree, and many schools will not accept pre-requisite courses that were taken at a community college.

  • Although there is no set boundary for a certain GPA, but an ideal candidate has a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and a science GPA of 3.3 with a score of 19 on DAT. Your goal should be to not end up with any numbers lower than these.

    I wish you luck !!!

  • One person knows to wear a mask during oral surgery.
