  • This is a great song and a great version !! Well done lads

  • Jimmy McCarthy

  • jimmy mac carthy is the man with Christy , jimmy wrote the song.

  • fantastic song . no matter who covered it class tune

  • Christy FEELS the music, and that is a great gift

  • what a lovely song and a fab performance we are so lucky to have talent like that

  • Double Ace. Perfect in every feature. A note: I've seen some forums in which people think the use of the word 'geek' is clumsy and jarring. They 'forgive' the songwriter, though. Aren't we all thankful? ;) Actually, the word is from the Dutch 'gek', used to denote a carnival player, usually the ones who are a little extreme. The use here is superb.

  • What a perfect rendering of a gorgeous song, and to have Jimmy MacCarthy and Christy Moore together..............................thank you.

  • i could listen to this video 24 hrs a day & 365 days a week It is my favourite song of all time Frank d

  • Songs dont get much better than this one!

  • Perfect performance... Never heard Jimmy McCarthy singing before, much less his own song... Outstanding.

  • I think they share a moment here...writer and performer....beautiful. to see your creation brought to life by the best...how good must they both feel?

  • A great song butchered.

  • @MikkkkyB lol wat u talkn bout thats the song writer with christy is his song LOL LOL !!!

  • @MikkkkyB You are joking...right?

  • @seanog75 no. no joke; Christy should've sang the whole thing himself; he's a bloody legend! The others are clingons

  • @MikkkkyB Yes Christy is a legend but this is the man who wrote the song and i think he sings it beautifully yet i think that this is the perfect combination of two voices

  • @joshuajn1 thanks Josh; I know he wrote it but let's just say: Give Christy sole domination! :-) Tis a damn shame he gave up singing for his heart; Lord knows.....our hearts need his voice!

  • @MikkkkyB It's the DVD Christy released singing with the men and women who wrote the songs he made famous...I know Jimmy dosent sound his best here but he's a class act really...some of his stuff is amazing...just look at how proud christy is to be singing with him ;)

  • @MikkkkyB if you stood before those three men and said that christy would be the first to knock your head off

  • @crokiecola actually I think Christy is a bit more humble than that. anyway I don't care really; its personal preference. I love Christy's voice over all the great Irish tenors even. Heaps of people write songs for people with great voices (Robbie Williams, Roy Orbison....and the list goes on and on and on and on)

  • @MikkkkyB he didnt write it for christy he didnt write it for anyone, there is an asumption that song writers write for people, generally not true.

  • @MikkkkyB putting robbie williams in the same sentence as roy orbison is a terrible crime.

  • @Frankieireland "Terrible crime!?" And what are u FrankieIreland? The Thought Police? Feeling a wee bit Orwellian are we? Since when is it a "crime" to state 1's subjective opinion....subjective! "The Big O" has 1 of the greatest voices ever but, while R Williams will never rank closely 2 that, he still has a decent voice. It that not an objective truth? I am simply stating a range or spectrum like "from Orbison to Williams." Anyway I"m probably distracting u from ur daily reading of Mien Kampf.

  • You came into my head tonight Dad, must;ve been all of two days since last I thought of you, sorry. JD and i chatted a lot about you tonight, both the JD's now. I still ponder your death and your life eternally, and always will......Christ i knew i'd miss you, just had no idea how much!!! x

  • @naders71 always reminds me of my Dad too , i totally know how ur feeling xxx

  • @anapanu Yeah, i guess it's a case of 'walk in our shoes' to know what we're really talking about!!! x

  • @naders71 I know how you're feeling my dad passed away 7 months ago and I miss him so so much. He was my best friend as well as my Dad. The pain of missing a loved one is so intense.

  • what can you say Jimmy, Christy and Declan .. and one of the great classics

  • some classic

  • that`s music !

  • Music at its best.

  • Wow! Jimmy MacDCarthy, himself. God bless you!

  • Why would someone dislike this video?

  • Jimmy....just fantastic! I wish there was more videos in which you sing. Always the others singing your songs.... I love to see you doing it and this is the only one where you appear...pitty:

But you are the best, I lve your singing, your songs and yourself.

  • You don't get much better then this, Really is the perfect song
