One of my favorites that Ringo has done that I haven't heard praises of is " Old Brown Shoe ." It's possibly my favorite Beatles drum track. Of course, there are many others.
Truly, George Harrison’s music conveys a talent and depth not often seen in today’s musicians.
@TheDylanobillyobryan George is playing a Fritz Brothers "Roy Buchanan" signature model, EMG pickups (tele neck and bridge, strat middle), which was sent to him in the summer of '88.

All post Beatles records were mixed bags. However, Paul McCartney was the most consistent--even his most wretched albums contain a brilliant pop song or two...and he could rock out with the best of them. George Harrison never really topped All Things Must Pass as John Lennon never really topped John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band. Try listening to Dark Horse or Somewhere in New York City all the way through--they are excruciating albums.
@guinnesstrail Agreed with all counts other than Plastic Ono band. IMO Imagine was much better. To my ears Band on the Run is the only ex-Beatle album that is great from start to finish.
@guinnesstrail maccartney did nothing after ram.maybe band on the run.ebony and ivory, silly love songs, give me a break.lennon and harrison had stopped trying to be pop stars and played their own music.
I'd imagine most of his recorded leads were done in isolation from any vocal recordings. I've always thought he required a little more concentration for his solo guitar work - watch him playing in any of the Let it Be footage...So my guess, is that it was easier to concentrate on the vocals, and just play rhythm. That...and as 9Iamthe walrus said - maybe a little lazy! Gotta love him tho!
the quiet Beatle had the most important things to say, was the most spiritual, greatest guitarist of the Beatles and perhaps one of the greatest ever influencing people like Clapton. He may have been overshadowed with all the talent in the Beatles, but alone he proved he really was great
@QueenBeatlesWings Very well said, also in my opinion George had by far the greatest solo career, even helping out greatly on John's Imagine album - George played great guitar on that album on the majority of songs e.g. Oh My Love. I love George's albums in the 70's and 80's greatly, every one of them is fantastic and he has so many unknown great songs for example The Answers At The End, Unknown Delight, Baltimore Oriole (Which is a cover) and Learning How To Love You. George truly was a genius
@TheNicholas0202 i agree! george is the only beatle REALLY to almost equal the quality of his beatles output (ALMOST, i said). but he had the furthest to grow, if you think about it, & he was somewhat stifled by l&m's prodigious contributions to the band's material. he certainly BARELY started to hit his stride as a soloist (slide, in particular) by the time the lads folded. it's funny though that his 60's axmanship casted the longest shadow, as well it should...
GEORGE THE LEGEND! I SAW HIS SOLO SET AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL (POLITICAL SHOW COSMIC YOGI FLYERS OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT) BRILLIANT SHOW (THE GREAT JOE WALSH FROM THE JAMES GANG ALSO ON BILL). SAD FOR HARRISON GANG/CLAN/FAMILY. HOPE TO SEE YOU IN HEAVEN.

Why is not playing the guitar parts and solos that he wrote ?? Whos the guitarist playing it ??
slash129 3 days ago
@slash129 Andy Fairweather-low plays the solo.
George wrote the song. It is a masterpiece and it is enough.
It's understandable he wants to relax during the concert.
Cheers!!

@slash129 Marc Mann and Andy Fairweather playing live with George at that time period.
The camerawork im my opinion could have been better in respect to Andy Fairweather Low and Marc Mann.
These guys were lights out and the cameras didn`t catch them enough. Especially when Andy got to play Georges psychadelic Stratocaster
and also when Marc Mann was playing slide and almost all the lead parts.(talking about the Concert for George)
