Fly-by-wire for stability. Ailerons, elevators, and rudders are hydraulics for flight controls. No need to use both hands. Like a payloader. SAMs (Surface to Air Missiles) these days does not detonate upon impact. They explode at close proximity and release massive shrapnels to damage an aircraft.
@MathiasMichell dude, it was the throttle to gain speed to climb and do a looping to evade the. Note that it shows his left hand, and the left hand is usually on the throttle and the right on the stick. You can see then when he's manouvering he's using the right hand. You don't much about fighter aircraft, do you??

@pedrod9basket didnt notice that, but the hadle to speed up usually is not like that, if u check it has a lot of buttom that usually belongs to missiles and machineguns, the speedup hadle is like a flat handle with nothing else, and it just slice forward, and not like a centered handle.
@MathiasMichell those buttons are usually for speed brake, afterburner and, in rare cases, even for flaps. It looks like it's a two-seat version of the Dassault Rafale, which is 4th generation. It's usual to see buttons in the throttle on 4th generation fighters. And about being in the left hand, I'm pretty sure; I climbed myself inside a F-16 and it was clear that the joystick was on right hand (as it is usually the more agile hand)

@MathiasMichell if that would happen, the airplane would completley lose the control or you would enter in a stall, and a cockpit you don't have that space to do that. There are three choices: or the pilot is physically and mentally efective pulls it all with one hand; the pilot doesn't have such physical and mental force and blacks out by G-force or loses the control; or he don't even pass the test to be a fighter pilot, it's not everyone who gets in a fighter aircraft

Have you ever played a racing sim in a simulator (physical one).... You get one little portion of the actual forces and it feels so much different....
Can you imagine what the difference would be from a flight sim... The fact that you aren't getting any forces on your body already makes a huge difference in realism... Real air combat is seconds intense... Half second more... boom... dead... So don't get cocky... They sacrifice realism for gameplay...
I haven't played the game... It's probably an arcade feel game... Not saying it's good or not... I personally love both Grand Turismo and ace combat... (if you get what I say)...
I just try to tell that real simulation... is almost impossible... And to get near it... you must have "some" extra money...
@TrickyNekro lol I have an idea but it's really impossible, first because a fighter cockpit is super tight, then atmospheric pressure is always changing and constantly blowing off your ears, the controls are much more simplified than a real fighter, but if the had all this anyone could ever play the game (literally, I know the controls of a F-16A Fighting Falcon xD), but the game is pretty nice, especially in Multiplayer (I think it's only for me, I'm a CFS3 ace xD) but it's worth to buy it :)
@TrickyNekro lol, my record 7 bombers with a spitfire mkIa then landed safely, you can try to beat it, it's a bit hard at all, but you need to look close to their escort to not kill you when you're landing. but yeah, it's always good to play an old-school ;)

When i got bought the game, i knew that it was gonna be somewhat arcade, but dude! When i managed to turn the plane in mid air, and fly through streets where we are talking about centimeters from crashing, i understood that this hasn't got one piece of realism in it:P And at least in my opinion, i think that all aircraft games should have a little bit of realism in it ^^
if you want something close to simulation you should play over g fighters, and just another game that i liked way back when i was a child was sega dreamcast's aerowings

the various dog fights and the missions in HAWX are a thing of past,,,however the various kinds of missions like escort , air interdiction and strike missions in the game are really educational from the point of view of war stratedy and docttrine of various..it is a must play game for all military pilots in the world..entertaining and educational....
I have massive doubts about this having any sort of educational value other than possibly teaching people to identify airplanes and basic things like what those blinking lights on the plane's windshield mean.
HAWKX nor Ace Combat have neither absolutely nothing to do with realism, let alone real aerial combat, which is anything but what you see in(most) games and movies...
@ekuthenewbie if it was realistic it would be booooarrring. trust me, i've played fighter games on the PC that are about as realistic as call of duty. it was sooo boaring. you couldent hit shit , it was sloooow pace and a few bullets from an AA gun and ur spiraling into the ground.

In your case, however, I'd say you just need to learn some patience - real pilots often has as many as 350 flight hours and tens of thousands of theory, survival, gunnery and other basic soldier skills before they were sent to battle, and modern pilots have even more.
BTW I dont think call of duty series, any of them, is any realistic at all. For a soldier, real war is mostly just waiting for the storm
@ekuthenewbie you dident directly say that realism = fun, but you some what im plyed the problem with this game is the lack of realism and how acrade style this game is. as for call of duty, when i said relistic i ment, the guns, recoil, how a bullet acts, and the kill streak rewards, like a stealth bomber flying in dropping 20 bombs
To me the problem is not the lack of realism but games claiming to be simulators when they dont even try, in every genre People get completely wrong ideas on how stuff actually works, what happened in history, and miss important things. Of course fun comes first, but I can also enjoy the more realistic way. It usually also leaves much more room for tactics and real skills not just reflexes.
If you have ever shot a real gun, you know it cant be ever modelled right in a game

@ekuthenewbie Lock On Modern Air Combat and F16 Falcons are realistic . They simulated Beyond Visual Range engagement. Actually "YO YO". The aero dynamic is very realistic. They've simulated the FMC System. However, I believe it's only good enough for basic landing, take off and engagement (I believe) But the CHINESE AIR FORCE USES IT! It take a lot of time for a real pilot to be trained with procedures, control and things. As well, there are G effects!

Please re-read my comments once again. I have never claimed the opposite when it comes to X-Plane, FSX, Falcon or LOMAC. I think where they cannot moderl avionics or flight models reasonably close enough to reality, its not because the game cant do it, but lack of sources, will, or money to do it.
@ekuthenewbie Well, most pilot actually find F-16 falcon and PMDG addon for FSX are very real. But hard to use a joystick like using a flying yoke! That's why add-on for Flight simulator are so expensive. The simulator almost everything (expect like weather radar and few unimportant stuff very hard to sim) Do you agree?
@ekuthenewbie And I read X-Plane use a different way to model the dynamic system. They use actual air flow data and put a plane into witness on druing the game. I don't know how to explain clearly. But I am saying the dynamic is very real in X-plane because it simulate the actual air-flow and aero design of the plane. But dont seem to have a good avionics on X-Plane.got a special version that got FAA approval to train real pilots too. Because there are fans to that stuff!
@ekuthenewbie I think certain add-on for FSX is close enough to reality. But I reckon most FSX planes are screwed up as you siad (lack of money, sources, will and stuff)! Those expensive PMDG addon will require a very good computer due to complex real world like avionics (Even my i7 processor lags a bit 17frame rate average!)
@ekuthenewbie yeah, it's not really a realistic flight simulator. It kind of reminds me of older arcade flight sims like Chuck Yeager's Air Combat, or USNF. A wide variety of planes, fun gameplay and just enough realism to make it feel right.
Don't get me wrong, I love realistic flight sims like Falcon 4.0, but games like this have their place.

It depends. I like more HAWX because it looks more fun but if you want something to learn to fly don't take any of those two, take Flight simulator instead.

All combat planes, fighters, bombers and assault, have had that cabability since the 70s... Some even had during the 50s. Its called RWR or Radar Warning Receiver. It is a complicated system that can, own its own though not usually from single pulse, determine sweeping radar's direction, type(and therefore usually source, be it plane, ship, land based search radar), distance and therefore position. Typically, radars see a plane further than it can detect a radar, but still outside weapons range
Lol they don't even make F-14's anymore they were replaced by better and cheaper aircraft like the f-15 and f-18. my father used ot work on f-14s back in the 80's on a aircraft carriers they are pretty large beefy jets

the various dog fights and the missions in HAWX are a thing of past,,,however the various kinds of missions like escort , air interdiction and strike missions in the game are really educational from the point of view of war stratedy and docttrine of various..it is a must play game for all military pilots in the world..entertaining and educational....

The PC version I played was unforgivable crap.
I have massive doubts about this having any sort of educational value other than possibly teaching people to identify airplanes and basic things like what those blinking lights on the plane's windshield mean.

@ekuthenewbie if it was realistic it would be booooarrring. trust me, i've played fighter games on the PC that are about as realistic as call of duty. it was sooo boaring. you couldent hit shit , it was sloooow pace and a few bullets from an AA gun and ur spiraling into the ground.

@CemetaryGatesML Did I say realism equals fun? No, after a certain extend, it does not.
In your case, however, I'd say you just need to learn some patience - real pilots often has as many as 350 flight hours and tens of thousands of theory, survival, gunnery and other basic soldier skills before they were sent to battle, and modern pilots have even more.
BTW I dont think call of duty series, any of them, is any realistic at all. For a soldier, real war is mostly just waiting for the storm

@ekuthenewbie you dident directly say that realism = fun, but you some what im plyed the problem with this game is the lack of realism and how acrade style this game is. as for call of duty, when i said relistic i ment, the guns, recoil, how a bullet acts, and the kill streak rewards, like a stealth bomber flying in dropping 20 bombs

To me the problem is not the lack of realism but games claiming to be simulators when they dont even try, in every genre People get completely wrong ideas on how stuff actually works, what happened in history, and miss important things. Of course fun comes first, but I can also enjoy the more realistic way. It usually also leaves much more room for tactics and real skills not just reflexes.
If you have ever shot a real gun, you know it cant be ever modelled right in a game

@ekuthenewbie i understand were ur coming from, but all i was saying is these games need to drop realism to = fun. these people should read up on the game first, cuz the first thing the say about HAWX is that is an arcade style game, if they expect a simulator well..... ya. as for shooting a real gun. i will say some games get it wrong but call od duty got it pritty good. i've shot a m16, m4 and m21. their was a bit more recoil the i expected, but then again im no pro marine or anything.

@ekuthenewbie Lock On Modern Air Combat and F16 Falcons are realistic . They simulated Beyond Visual Range engagement. Actually "YO YO". The aero dynamic is very realistic. They've simulated the FMC System. However, I believe it's only good enough for basic landing, take off and engagement (I believe) But the CHINESE AIR FORCE USES IT! It take a lot of time for a real pilot to be trained with procedures, control and things. As well, there are G effects!

@ekuthenewbie I do agree. I dont think call of duty is nothing like real combat because aiming is lot harding than it looks. I mean a Fat guy can run fast and shoot good in the game. But in real world he can't.

@ekuthenewbie However, I do think Flight Simulator can simulate flights well (NOT THIS SHIT GAME)even a 1970 747 uses avionics to adjust all their movements!Remember computers are faster today.Why wouldn't a modern pc simulate these movement if they can adjust it?But only apply to an expensive software like X-Plane (FAA approval) and FSX ADDONS.Real pilots actually find them very realistic.But in an emergency,even a real pilot find it difficult to move their hand because G force (Like stalling)

Please re-read my comments once again. I have never claimed the opposite when it comes to X-Plane, FSX, Falcon or LOMAC. I think where they cannot moderl avionics or flight models reasonably close enough to reality, its not because the game cant do it, but lack of sources, will, or money to do it.

@ekuthenewbie Well, most pilot actually find F-16 falcon and PMDG addon for FSX are very real. But hard to use a joystick like using a flying yoke! That's why add-on for Flight simulator are so expensive. The simulator almost everything (expect like weather radar and few unimportant stuff very hard to sim) Do you agree?

@ekuthenewbie And I read X-Plane use a different way to model the dynamic system. They use actual air flow data and put a plane into witness on druing the game. I don't know how to explain clearly. But I am saying the dynamic is very real in X-plane because it simulate the actual air-flow and aero design of the plane. But dont seem to have a good avionics on X-Plane.got a special version that got FAA approval to train real pilots too. Because there are fans to that stuff!

@ekuthenewbie I think certain add-on for FSX is close enough to reality. But I reckon most FSX planes are screwed up as you siad (lack of money, sources, will and stuff)! Those expensive PMDG addon will require a very good computer due to complex real world like avionics (Even my i7 processor lags a bit 17frame rate average!)

@ekuthenewbie yeah, it's not really a realistic flight simulator. It kind of reminds me of older arcade flight sims like Chuck Yeager's Air Combat, or USNF. A wide variety of planes, fun gameplay and just enough realism to make it feel right.
Don't get me wrong, I love realistic flight sims like Falcon 4.0, but games like this have their place.

When you speak about films, it's a little bit more daring, remember Tom Cruise's film called Topgun??(I think it's with Tom Cruise) Well, in that film the aircraft was maneouvered by an ace who fought in 2003 in the Gulf

It depends. I like more HAWX because it looks more fun but if you want something to learn to fly don't take any of those two, take Flight simulator instead.

sovietengland... ur an idiot!!!! F22 raptors are way different than F35s... there are 3 classes of F35 too. the F35A, F35B, and F35C!!! F35 is Vtol plane!!! F22 has stealth technology and has supersonic boost and capable on carring more missles IN the fuselage!!!! so dont be stupid.. by lyk this it shows im a better researcher than u are... dim wit!! but F35 too have the dat system.... da planes are alerted b4 the missle cud be lanched coz they are being tracked so there WILL be a warning!!

All combat planes, fighters, bombers and assault, have had that cabability since the 70s... Some even had during the 50s. Its called RWR or Radar Warning Receiver. It is a complicated system that can, own its own though not usually from single pulse, determine sweeping radar's direction, type(and therefore usually source, be it plane, ship, land based search radar), distance and therefore position. Typically, radars see a plane further than it can detect a radar, but still outside weapons range

Lol they don't even make F-14's anymore they were replaced by better and cheaper aircraft like the f-15 and f-18. my father used ot work on f-14s back in the 80's on a aircraft carriers they are pretty large beefy jets
