  • ok this is driving me crazy!! I want to save a video to my computer. The video is only 35 seconds long and whenever I try to save it it says that it's 243.7 Mb!!! That doesn't make sense!!!! please help!!!! (oh, and that's not the Whole proyect) The whole project is more Mb

  • When I try to export Lightworks always freezes up. Reinstalling Codecs and Lightworks didn't work and I wasn't able to find anything too helpful in the forum...

  • Thank you for your helpful videos. I tried my self to render a section of my HD video (file size: 4GB). Basically I incresed the speed by 300% and removed the sound. My new video now was only 7.5 minutes long while the initial one was 25 minutes long. So I expected the file size of the new video to be the one third of the initial one. After the rendering the result was a file with an enormus size: 30GB!!!! Why did that happend? How can i make a video with a smaller size?

  • @smakis If you were using uncompressed MOV file types for the render, file sizes will be enormous. Try using a different format or use the animation compression codec for mov files (it retains high quality and low file sizes)

  • @dvstudiosproductions @dvstudiosproductions Thanks for your quick reply. The thing is that the only option i get in render is avi files uncompressed. Why do you think this is happening? In fact most of the lightworks functions especially in file formating are not working. I have downloaded the latest version (beta) and I really cannot understand why I get these problens :(((

  • @smakis download the Matrox VFX codecs and that will give you additional file types and rendering options

  • Thank you very much for these tutorial videos. I may be a noob but I feel like these were really helpful. thanks. :D

  • Hey I have a problem, can you please tell me what you render your videos as and what YouTube will take? I just tried to upload an AVI with a MPEG I-Frame HD (50) compression to YouTube and when it uploaded, it told me YouTube couldn't convert the video file and the upload failed. Please help!

  • Man. Just a thanks from France. Your tutorials are awesome!

  • Great series! Thanks, it helped me a lot!

I only have one problem left: When ever I export my video, it gets longer than it is supposed to be, so say I've 5 minutes of film material in my timeline, after exporting it becomes 8 minutes, where the last 3 minutes are just black screen...

i guess it's because of some material that I had added but then deleted and because of that, the timeline might have become longer...Can you help me with that?

  • I found this video very helpful.

I have been trying to figure out Lightworks because adobe premier has not been working.

I have tryed to render many times but it has not worked.

Thank you for this video. :)

  • Hi, I am having a re-occuring issue, because when I export my video (and I have tried all formats and none except AVI work because of some random stuff with the audio being messed up) the video is perfectly fine...but there is no audio at all. any ideas why?

  • when i export onto desktop the and all its edits and transitions are fine but it comes out double, like a split screen on a video game. how can i fix this or why is it happening?

  • i exported it like you said, but when i open it, it's two times on the screen (at the top& at the bottom) do you know about this problem? (sorry for my english .I'm german :D)

  • @Lucyfeli I have the same problem :(

  • -apologies for previous deleted comment-

  • Whenever I render a video and then watch it, there is the same video twice, on on top of the other... Any ideas why and how I can fix it?

  • Hey. Thanks for the video tutorials. How did you get all those containers as output choices? I only have AVI, MXF and Quicktime to choose from. :\

  • I haven't been able to render/ export a usable video file. I've tried just about every combination of codecs and settings, but the product is always jumpy. Perhaps my system is too slow.

  • Third try (For some reason YouTube didn't place the other two) Thanx for your reaction! Yes, I tried the other two formats also (Quicktime and the other), but Lightworks said that it had problems with initializing this (?). So I just could try AVI. I'm sorry, but I don't even know how to use another codec.

  • Hey, man. Your tutorials have been a great help. Thanx! Big problem though. When i want to render an edit, i only get sound. Video's are shot with Canon SX30is, which are MOV files on 720 and 29.97 fps. When I try to render it in Avi (720, 29.97) i only get sound, no picture, although i get uge files. And it doesn't matter which program i use to play it. In Media Player it says 'uploading codec' and it does, but... I have version 10.0.3. Any idea what i do wrong?

  • @DoubleUThings have you tried rendering with a different format or codec? GIve that a shot and let me know!

  • @DoubleUThings perhaps you could try a different avi codec or use a format like mov as a test

  • I have been sitting at my computer all day trying to figure this stuff out.. edits that should have taken minutes have taken days because of my lack of knowledge on the program. for example, how to render a still image as a video.. youd think you would click "render" but that doesnt seem to do anything right now...

  • What version of Lightworks you are using 10.0.3 or older version?

  • @vasilvalkov 10.0.1

  • @dvstudiosproductions now 10.0.4

  • Thanks for the great series, I'll definitely be referring back to it as I go through Lightworks!
