With some luck, research, and advice I was able to make some serious money. Like you, I've wanted an M3 since High School so I bought this one when I found myself in the financial position to do so. I worked hard and I got lucky. That's all there is to it.

In a perfect world I would go with a supercharged setup but I want to wait to see how the cars out there now with FI setups handle the power increase over the long run.

When it gets cold out my TPMS system gets a little bitchy but mechanically and electronically this car is solid. Overally, probably one of the most fun cars I've ever driven and the best car I've owned so far.

@sp3ar2envi He's using a manual transmission. You can tell because there are no paddles on the steering wheel which would indicate a double clutch transmission. While you can shift through the gear knob on the center console in a double clutch transmission, the paddles should primarily be used for that.

I know the M3 in the US has a cheaer market price than it does in several European countries. When I looked at the conversion price in some markets the M3 can be well over $100,000 USD which is insane.

I've missed second gear a few times but that's my fault, not the transmissions and it only happened when I'm really throwing it into second gear. I've stopped doing that and now shift smoothly. Not only is it faster that way but you'll never miss.

@efthimios I'm also talking about total cost of the car. Before sales tax, registration, and financing the car was closer to $67K. The dealership I worked with gave me the navigation package for free. Pre-owned is always an option if you want to save money but I would never buy one if I didn't know the previous owner. The last thing I want is to spend money on a car I know nothing about (how it was maintained, treated, and driven). You don't want someone elses problem.

@xray707 If you are paying 10k in interest over 5 years on a 70k car, you probably are not in good financial footing to begin with. In this market you can get m3's within 1k of invoice, and you should be putting at least 20% down. The e90 m3 I ordered I'm paying 1.6k in interest over 3 years (1.9% financing, after 20% down) and I got to around 700 of invoice, well under 70k for loaded car. Still not an investment, but its my dream car. And I'm at a point in my life I can afford it.

@ThugProductions To an extent. I've found that this car pulls pretty good under most conditions. The motor might be a little bit on the peaky side but it picks up the slack with awesome throttle response.

@cpstang24 Yeah I shifted early a few times. Still was not totally comfortable with the car when I filmed this on Friday. The hardest thing about 1st and 2nd gear is it revs so fast you have to be quick on the shift and I don't want to bounce it off the rev limiter. Nonetheless, still a disgusting car. Later on Saturday night I layed down like 300 feet of rubber by stop and shop. The Pilot Sports aren't too good in the cold if you know what I mean and I just had to warm them up for safety...

hahahahahahahah! that was incredibly funny to watch. your car is insane- i wasn't in it, but it sounds like a freaking bad ass beast. lucky you, jared. traffic on I-84 is always a disaster when there's some sort of inclement weather, and i dont miss it at all.

@swizz85 Yeah, I hate I84 as well and I have to spend a lot of time on it. The car def sounds good and now that I can drive it to its limit I can really have some fun with it. It's docile and tame when you want it to be and then you can make it act like a complete animal if you want to.
