She sounds really autotuney and chipmunky too because of how Garageband pitches unless you have melodyne D: But basically you make a new .band project file with the BPM and key of the song you want to make or cover, and drop in her samples one by one, shorten them, and pitch them, to make her sing. It's tedious xD

@TheHanyouKitten Miku sounds better, and smoother, and etc., but that's not because Mac vs PC, that's because UTAU (primarily Windows freeware) vs Vocaloid (Windows only $120 software). A consonant-vowel recorded UTAU can't compare to professional software with a wider range of vocal ability.

That and this was made all on Windows..... running on a Macbook :U Oh the irony.

Apples are the symbol on the back of a mac computer, which last I heard, was the only computer that can -legally- run the Mac OS -natively-. I am also a huge Apple fan, I've always done all my UTAU work on Boot Camp on a Macbook. I suppose if I wanted to match I could have slapped the Gateway box logo on Miku but that wouldn't have made just as much sense to people as an "X" on Nana.

@emavj97 First, google Mikuinstaller (and choose the first result). Then, scroll down and click the button titled "MikuInstaller-20080803.dmg"; you'll download Mikuinstaller (which is free). After you've downloaded and installed the program, insert the Vocaloid install disc, look for the setup.exe (or something like that) and Mikuinstaller should automatically activate and run the installer as if you were on Windows. Hope this helps.

Like Macne Nana Petit... she's a voicebank of .aiff files instead of .wav (UTAU's normal file). You use her in Garageband with the Melodyne plugin... I just... don't have the plugin D: And I think Zuii's Macloid programmer did it a different way but I don't know how they managed it... OR you could get Windows in bootcamp or on a virtual machine. That's all the advice I have.

Zuii's programmer actually created some sort of plugin by replacing an existing garageband instrument with Zuii's voicebank. Macne Nana is actually somewhat of a Mac version of Vocaloid, although she's a plugin for existing Mac software.

The joke here is Miku = Vocaloid and Vocaloid is PC only, and Nana = "Macloid"

People just import her voice into UTAU for use on PC :3 She's not really an UTAU, even though I and most others user her as one.

It's called Macne Nana, Macne Nana Petit, or Macne Coco.

Petit Nana is a folder of sounds like in an UTAU voicebank that you just put into garageband and edit with. Full Nana is for Reason, which is a pretty pricey sound editing software I think xD; But in there she has her own interface, not just a bunch of sounds. Coco is for both as far as I know. But no, they're not free.

Google "macne nana act 2" and click on the second page that comes up :3 It shows screenshots.

XP can be tricky to get to Japanese since often it doesn't come installed, unlike Windows 7 (and vista I think) ...and I have no idea where to download the Asian Languages...

So you -can- use UTAU, just not Defoko and ONLY romaji (both voicebanks and UST files)

Avoid hiragana and you should be fine... although most USTs are in hiragana (sango312 has really good romaji ones though)
