Pardon Me. But I have never played a saxophone before. and I want to buy a soprano only!!!! what would would be a good one in the 400-5004$ range?.....i need it to stay in pitch ...because i am a serious musician!!!!! and i will use it to record and play when i am good enough!!!! I play guitar so i am looking to learn a new instrument!!! also i was lokking at the Allora student model at musicians friend.com .......is that one bad? Thanks so much!!!
Thanks for the info. I never knew that. I see alot of videos on Youtube and alot of people seem to wear a set of headphones when they play their sax. I never knew "why". But, now I do. Thank you so much for sharing that my friend.
@sopranojoe11 It is so that I can hear the backing track, as opposed to playing it through speakers which would mean that the microphone records the backing track as well. This is multi-track recording. The backing track is on track one, then my sax is track 2, I can adjust the level of each track afterwards, or add reverb to the sax track 2. It messes it up (and sounds awful) if you record the backing track (track 1) onto track 2..... simple!!!
@sopranojoe11 So yo don't hear what you're playing when you're recording and then you'd be all surprised when you hear the recording. It's more fun that way.
I'm absolutely delighted! Your soprano fits the tune perfectly and the sound is wonderful. I wish my "noodling" was like this. Thank you again, Matthew.
Thanks Ulli, I think the sop is the closest thing I have to a trumpet. I play this song out once a week, so I am pretty used to it, so it seems like noodling to me now :-)
nice! make sure u check out my vids

My son plays alto and tenor. Is it hard to transition to soprano? Curious how much you paid for yours....Sounds really nice.

@experiment0003 he is probably just using his head as a gesture for "feeling it". He probably just really likes this grove.
@icespartan1171 All saxophones have the same fingerings (excluding altissimo) they only differ on the actual key of the instrument.

excellent sound, is what I seek. That sax and mouthpiece used? I have a Yamaha YSS475 and I want to take your metallic sound.
Thanks, Osvaldo

I always though some whole tone phrasing would sound great in the last eight bars or so when they switch key centers chromatically.
