@dirtydodger Hi, just to let you know most of breeds has that as part of official competitions, and Pit Bull + alkies’ are actually body prept for such struggle + they love it!!! my one does, he would pick up his leash and try to hook it to my car!!!

Worrior breed. They're doing what they love to do, workin hard for their owners :) We have an eight year old blue pit, Samson, but he's not athletic like these pitbuls. He's more on the stuby thicker side as far as body structures go. Still, awsome dogs when owned by the best of people :)
Weight pulling is not neglect. It's a dog sport just like dock jumping. They love to pull and their owners know their limit and if they don't think they can pull it they won't let them pull.

If you give them a physically and mentally demanding activity, they are going to direct their excess energy into positive behavior, and it will prevent them from expressing any lingering negative genetics. These dogs are naturally gifted athletes and that talent should not be wasted.

so they actually enjoy this? I know dogs enjoy their *jobs* or working until fatigue so that's what you have to watch for. But the tug of war, y are they tied up for that to get more leverage on their opponent?
@Ceraphinas they're tied up because it's an aggressive sport... much like football, in the heat of the moment, players get aggravated and exhibit forms of aggression by sometimes pushing and shoving opponents after the whistle. pit bull's exhibit these forms of aggression too, during competition, so extra measures are taken to ensure their safety. And yes... pit bull's aim to please, and enjoy making their owners happy. So they do thoroughly enjoy sports.
working dogs around other dogs and people is one of the best socialization and temperment stabilization methods that can be done ....good job....keep it up
I suggest you read up on dog breeds: working dogs: rescue, police, shepherd, tracking, not sure about biting a tires, and pulling cars in competitions that doesnt prove nothing. Actually the American Pit bull Terrier is not amongst the working breeds, but the terrier ones, like the name itself reveals.
@TheRachel33 the pitbull was used to dig in and be able to keep ahold of something in their mouth.... this training is only working what the breed is suppose to be doing... and they r built to do so... theyre legs are built so that they can dig in and pull back instead of spead and flexiblity... theyre muscles on theyre legs are so big that they dont get the FULL range of motion...these competitions are good for them

Not every pit bull is mean, but there are a few unfortunate cases when they are. Also, pit bulls are naturally curious, high energy dogs, as they are terriers,and require a strong willed owner.
Pits are a lovely, loyal, intelligent breed, who only live to please their owner, its when they fall into the wrong hands of sick people who choose to make them aggressive by mishandling and not socializing them from puppy hood, then they become aggressive, and do not know how to handle themselves when put in a bad situation, obviously, wouldn't you if you were treated like that?

I have met other breeds who are aggressive, like, labs, retrievers, and other breeds who don't have a rep, like pit bulls, who do, which really some people don't even know what they are talking about when they discriminate against the breed.

That's proper security training - I don't plan on putting any dog of mine through it, but those that do come out with a far better sense of control in security situations. Most dogs that spend their time barking and getting aggressive at the wrong times do so out of nervousness, but a properly trained security dog is confident of what it should do and is under the complete control of the owner. Examples would be military and police dogs.
It does my heart good to see a breed that is judged not just on superficial terms of appearance, but on being able to do real-life work. While I border on worshiping dogs, I believe that people are breeding dogs towards an ideal unsuited for any existence outside of their relationship with humanity. This makes for weaker breeds, like pugs and lap dogs, many of which are also known for their stupidity. Is it morally right to breed dogs for dependency, including physical and often mental weakness?

I think this is awesome, pushing a dog to his potential without brutality or maiming of other dogs. Ive seen with my dog that with heavy physical demand theyre happy. To those who dont like this video are cat-lovers or probably have there dog kept in the house all day. Maybe then or with a fucking bow on there head theyd be happier right ? NO !!!! I love dogs and I think these dogs are happy... I hope the dog fighting thing go's away for good and gets replaced by these types of sports.

so they actually enjoy this? I know dogs enjoy their *jobs* or working until fatigue so that's what you have to watch for. But the tug of war, y are they tied up for that to get more leverage on their opponent?

@Ceraphinas they're tied up because it's an aggressive sport... much like football, in the heat of the moment, players get aggravated and exhibit forms of aggression by sometimes pushing and shoving opponents after the whistle. pit bull's exhibit these forms of aggression too, during competition, so extra measures are taken to ensure their safety. And yes... pit bull's aim to please, and enjoy making their owners happy. So they do thoroughly enjoy sports.

I suggest you read up on dog breeds: working dogs: rescue, police, shepherd, tracking, not sure about biting a tires, and pulling cars in competitions that doesnt prove nothing. Actually the American Pit bull Terrier is not amongst the working breeds, but the terrier ones, like the name itself reveals.

@TheRachel33 the pitbull was used to dig in and be able to keep ahold of something in their mouth.... this training is only working what the breed is suppose to be doing... and they r built to do so... theyre legs are built so that they can dig in and pull back instead of spead and flexiblity... theyre muscles on theyre legs are so big that they dont get the FULL range of motion...these competitions are good for them

Not every pit bull is mean, but there are a few unfortunate cases when they are. Also, pit bulls are naturally curious, high energy dogs, as they are terriers,and require a strong willed owner.

That's proper security training - I don't plan on putting any dog of mine through it, but those that do come out with a far better sense of control in security situations. Most dogs that spend their time barking and getting aggressive at the wrong times do so out of nervousness, but a properly trained security dog is confident of what it should do and is under the complete control of the owner. Examples would be military and police dogs.

It does my heart good to see a breed that is judged not just on superficial terms of appearance, but on being able to do real-life work. While I border on worshiping dogs, I believe that people are breeding dogs towards an ideal unsuited for any existence outside of their relationship with humanity. This makes for weaker breeds, like pugs and lap dogs, many of which are also known for their stupidity. Is it morally right to breed dogs for dependency, including physical and often mental weakness?

I think this is awesome, pushing a dog to his potential without brutality or maiming of other dogs. Ive seen with my dog that with heavy physical demand theyre happy. To those who dont like this video are cat-lovers or probably have there dog kept in the house all day. Maybe then or with a fucking bow on there head theyd be happier right ? NO !!!! I love dogs and I think these dogs are happy... I hope the dog fighting thing go's away for good and gets replaced by these types of sports.
