i admit i dont know a lot bout bikes but this bike is simply gorgeous . pity they stopped producing this . i've got a plastic model of this bike since 4th grade but i guess ill have to be content with it . by the way great video
@thrallingFRglory Hi there. Thanks for your comment. I am sure that you can get a used bike like this in good condition. You know, we Triumph people take care of our motorcycles...
I'm picking up an 02 model on Tuesday, assuming the test ride goes well enough. The more I see of the bike and videos like this one, the more the next 4 days are really going to drag on and seem like forever. Looking forward to some wide open roads, or nice bendy ones like the old Pacific Highway between Sydney and Newcastle (Australia)
How nice, I am sure you are going to have a blast. I did the Iron Butt 1600K with mine last summer which just proves the versatility of the bike. Good luck with yours, mate!
@nmklpkjlftmch Hey mate im Aussie too, how do ya like the 955i daytona? is it quick and good brakes balance handling etc? Im thinking of getting one next week- ive riden the daytona 675 and street triple, i was found them a tad small, im 6.3 90kgs+ so i thought id buy a speed triple. But after coming across the 955i daytona looks bigger and more comfortable than a 675 and could do some longer trips, gingers creek run is only an hr away from me on the mid nth coast, and thoughts or suggestions??
@dreadly101 I'm loving it. Mind you, I've been riding a Honda 250 for a couple of years as a commuter bike, so it's a bit different... in a good way. Also about 6'3" and anywhere between 92 and 105kg depending on how lazy/injured I get, so definitely loving the 955cc. Did the old Pacific Highway from Sydney up to Mangrove Mountain and across to Wisemans Ferry and back. Was kind of over it by the end of that, but had a sore wrist before I started and it was a good 5 hours in the saddle.

Beautiful machine! I just picked up an '02, after having owned an '05 Speed Triple for about a year. These are the sweetest sounding engines you'll ever come across, and perfect torque throughout. Great video! You should add at the end that the 2002 model actually has 150 hp.
i had a 2006 955,now have a gsxr1000k8 but still miss the trumpy,it was a much smoother bike than the suzuki,the 955 daytona motor is a gem. i wish they'd make a
Great video mate! What year is your bike, looks like the 02 to me? Thats the year they made the bike look a bit sharper for me. Gotta get through the god forsaken new bike test here in the UK then im looking for a Triumph. Probably get a 600 1st. that would be the sensible thing to do. Anyway, great vid and bike mate.
Thanks! You are right, it is the -02 model. As far as I know, it was the only year with the traditional, two-sided swingarm. And yes, I agree - it looks sharp. As for the 600, I have only tried Triumph Speed Four. It was hilarious. But I am riding more on torque so the 955 suits me better. Good luck with your drivers license!
Well thank you, glad you liked it! I used an ATC-2K Action cam from Oregon Scientific. Looks like a small tube, real sturdy and water proof to 3 meters (God forbid!). I ducktaped it to the tank with soft plastic in between but as you can see, it wobbles a bit at speed. It was cheap but sound is a bit of a let-down and I am sure there are sharper cams around today.
As for the roads, I guess we are blessed in that department.

Nice vid! I own a 2005 955i and i'm so glad I bought it.
Could you tell me what kind of cam you use as I'd like to fit one to my bike and upload vids aswell.
You should post some more vids cos your roads look so much better to ride on than these in Blighty!
