OMG, I have been looking for this song for over 20plus years...I'm in tears! Thank you for posting this. Wow, I had some great Junior High School memories....
This is a true classix... just brought me back to the early 1980's,, great time,,,great music to REALLY dance to NOT like today's music... and best of all GREAT MEMORIES,,, rollerskating at USA Roller Skating, Jackson heights, Qns.. break dancing... Rock Steady Crew/ Dynamic Rockers and graffiti.... thank you for this song.:)
If you like this song you will also like The Quick - Zulu, David Joseph - You Can't Hide Your Love, Junior - Mama Used to Say, Central Line - Walking into Sunshine, Toney Lee - Reach Up. I know this because I am a 1980-1984 NYC DJ. jellybean and I played together a lot in dem days.
A warm blast from the past.. That I can listen to over and over again.. Thank you for sharing this classic : ) so many child hood memories come alive .
@24Adrian24 am 46years old,I don't know which year you were born, but in the 80's ""GIVE ME '' was one of the hottest funk played in clubs, although they were British group,it was a hit, some British hits you can't buy them on itunes, and its in vinyl if you want to purchases it,I have it in recorded cassette, thats old school.
@2009Denisem Now I understand ....Mz."D" this was a pleasant surprise.....went into the archives for this one...I remember this for sure! Give me what you can't get back!!!! OWWWW!!! Whoot! Whoot! Indeed!!!!
@24Adrian24 Thank you for upload this rare and exceptional find!!!!
Great song! I wished the radio stations would place this song more often. Bring back memories of originality in R&B music. No samples, No AUTO-TUNE...
If someone don't like this tune and critisating it then there must be something really wrong with him/her. This music only deserves deserves good comment and thumps up!!
@loveflares I'd bet good horse money that many of them weren't born when this song hit the record racks (Sept./Oct. 1982). I was just starting my junior year in HS, and WBLS was all on top of this one, just as Frankie Crocker was about to give the Material Girl her first push on radio.
@CookyMonzta Yes i agree you, i also wasn't into this era( I wish i did) but i really love this kind of musics and respect all of them, i saw many negative comments on this music so i had to tell them what i said.
I don't know why people listen to a music that they don't like and give comments like that here :0 Do you know Sandy Kerr - Thug rock song? It's so similar music to this one but i don't know which released firstly lol
I first this while I was stationed in New Jersey in 1982. I heard it on NY radio station called 92 KTU The HOTT ONE! With Roscoe. I brought it back to Cali with me and bumped it and people went nutz for it. Back in the day before music went digital, music would hit east coast radio stations before they made it out west.
Damn!!!!! They dont make em like this anymore! ive been searching fot this song for almost 10 years. Too may rap songs were spawned from this jam, check out "The Love Movement Album" , Tribe Called Quest's last album. They used this song for 3 tracks on that album alone. Not bad at all. Thanks for posting this song!!!
The whole album is ggggreat guys! Other top tracks from the album are Teacher (also great naughty lyrics) and Music. In fact there isn't a duffer on the whole album. I only have in on vinyl I'm afraid.
