Excellent job on this review! I just wanted to add that I believe Nintendo can repeatedly sell the same story over and over because they add a new setting, new Pokemon, and new characters. Thus instead of seeming overused, it instead seems new with a sense of "predictability". Pokemon is certainly a 9/10 anime that any anime fan must see.
I quite watching the cartoon of Pokemon as it get's confusing,
and really hard to follow, I still think that the original cartoons where still good to watch, expect for maybe the banned episodes, the new pokemon movies are still fun to watch, however, I'm more into the pokemon video games, then cartoons, and I still look forward to Heart Gold, and Soul Silver, I have been dying to have my pokemon walk with me, and to travel old and new lands.
Exactly! And all they have to do is delve into it. Sure, the dialogue and story are simple, but the game itself is actually very engaging and, as you said, strategic.
and i hope that you continue with reviewing and to never be afraid of other fanbases. (seperates the greats from the crap). thank you for listening to my constructive critisizm.
awesome review but you didnt enclude a segment of pokemon that has attracted a large segment of the pokemon audience to pokemon, the pokemon trading card game.
The Diamond and Pearl battle system is a little changed from the Red Fire/Leaf Green and Ruby/Sapphire. Of course, there is also the whole era of new moves and such, it's tricky at first.
The big change is how moves are classified as Physical, Special or Other now--in past games, ALL Psychic moves were special, ALL Fighting moves were physical, etc. Now it's possible to have A Fighting move that's special, a Psychic move that's physical, etc.
In the pre-DP games, a Pokemon with high Special Defense and low Defense wasn't as vulnerable to Psychic moves because they were all Special; now a Physical Psychic attack could crush it. Or, a Fire Poke could have weak Special Attack and..
..a high Attack and still take advantage of a Psychic move (if it's physical); in the past games, he couldn't do much with any Psychic move because it was all special.
This change made some Pokemon much stronger/more useful than before and made others less useful, destroyed old combos and made new ones possible, and made movepools more versatile. It's effectively changed the battle system majorly. One small change, one major impact.
Believe it or not I'm not a hardcore battler or anything ^_^'
Of course, these changes are just things us gamers need to adapt to, hardcore or not o_o that's what shows who's good and who isn't. The trick is learning how to play a game as if it was fresh, while keeping old info in mind as you play.
You sound very knowledgeable about the whole thing, btw. Good stuff, good stuff.
manga is divided into a rating system like anime and video games too.. A = all ages. T = teen. T+ = older teens and M = mature. after reading the pokemon manga on onemanga pokemon definatly falls into the T category, it may possibly even fall into the T+ category because there is more physical violence in the pokemon manga than in naruto
Now I really, really need to look into that freakin' manga. I've only heard a little about it, but I am more intrigued now than I've ever been x3 did you find it on a particular site?
i agree. the anime is more of a kiddie style, where as the movies are more like bleach, naruto, one piece and DBZ aimed at teens. if anyone who accused pokemon for being for kids would watch the original japanese version of the first, eigth and tenth movies in particulary it would change their views completely
The movies were excellently done for anime-loving audiences. You probably just completely summarized my review with that statement. Thanks for your comment on my vid; hope it was even slightly entertaining.
yeah. i just got into reading the pokemon manga on onemanga. it is far from childish, i even dare to say it might be aimed at older teens. there is always bloody sceens and screens where characters get impaled (arbok actually got its head chopped off) there are mature themes(almost every battle is a life/death struggle and a more mature story line) and theres even some sexual inuendo..never though id see it on pokemon(blue flashing sabrina as a trick)
XD I need to get my hands on that manga, then. I've never seen anything of the sort, despite the crazy nature of the internet as we know it. Where do you buy your manga? o.o
i buy it at barnes and nobel, theres no other place around here lol. BTW, you probably figured this out but im kpbpsw2, my other account was deleted because my naruto video "infringed" someones copyright
Don't take this the wrong way, But you look like pedro. Pedro's awesome.
Anyway. Now or days, I never watch the anime. But I used to watch it ALOT when I was little. The thing that got me watching it was that I liked watching which pokemon Ash would meet or catch next.
As for today. I don't like pokemon much at all anymore, Diamond and Pearl seemed to me like it was lacking something. The show has gotten more kiddier, As much as fans of the show deny it, After Ash got to Hoenn something about the show went downhill. I hate misty but it maybe her that's the reason.
Also. WTF on them changing Team Rockets theme. Team rocker WAS the only reason to watch pokemon to me for a while ( After I got bored of the series) And they destroy them. Tisk tisk. Anyway That's my take on pokemon. Lost interest in it after Diamond and Pearl for some reason, I think it's the 3D aspect that got me.
Team Rocket used to be cool, but they changed Team Rocket so much after the first two seasons. On top of that, this new idea of Pokemon is just horrible. The game, in my opinion, is keeping it alive.
4 to 18 :/ um no dude... thats stupid its targeted atsay 3 or 4 to 11 or 12 year olds man, teh cartoon anyways the game is targeted at all gamers who liek rpg and free roam adventure, but pokemon series cartoon used to be in my child hood i still play the game at 17 years old.
30 year olds can play pokemon, its rated E, that should be enough proof that its not just for children. if it were just for children it would be rated EC(early childhood.) the anime is targeted at ages 7 and up..most fans being teenagers. i seriously doubt a child would watch the first movie in uncut and
It probably started in somewhere near the end of Johto and then Hoenn it just went downhill. To be quite honest, however, it still really isn't that bad.
actually johto(the last region misty was in) was the most boring, it had the most meaningless filler episodes. with the addition of a female character who does contests(may and dawn) the number of fillers are cut down and replaced with contest episodes. imo, diamond and pearl of the anime is the best saga sence kanto, we have 50+ episodes and so far none of them are terrible, this is the season with the best character development and twists too.
Agreed with just about everything you said. DBZ though literally flooded over Pokemon's rating in Australia and stayed like that right to the end of it's life. Pokemon luckily survived though it's always the next DBZ when talking about cartoons here. They even only showed 5th season once on free to air due to them favouring DBZ over it.=(
No repeats.=(
Other than that Pokemon is very successful and I agree completely.=)
Hey Erik remember me.
Hint 1: I play Xbox360 with you and Isaac with other cousins too
Hint 2: my gamertag starts with an "s"
Hint 3: I know you like cookies
Hint 3: Spaghetti with out sauce ( I was there when Matthew said that)
Hint 4: I asked you a question that was, "DC or Marvel?"
And the biggest hint,
Hint 5: I'm Samuel's best friend!

Oh by the way, nice job on your video, you kept it short, and clean, as this type of topic, can get very long, and hard to get to the point.

Absolutely, my friend. You bring up several good points to consider for my following videos.
And yes, never fear the other fanbases!
GoldMageAce 2 years ago
is constructive critisizm allowed?
(big pokemon fan though)
1.the anime shouldn't be a big consern
(it sucks other than the first season)
2.this is biased as in you are a fan preserving your fanbase so you will not ever admit the major flaws in which you will not bring up.
3. the games came out first so you should focus 90% of the review on.
4. the manga kicks ass until you get to the ruby (obviously he is gay) and saphirre (the roles should be reversed) saga.
