  • i'm all the way in the back trying to dance this dance wearing a Darth revan costume, barely able to see

  • heh i feel ya, I was one of the stormtroopers crouching, i couldn't get on the floor at the beginning else it would've taken me 30 seconds to get off the ground :)

    Fun Times!

  • Pretty cool costumes! So much different! Pretty cool video!

  • I wanted to get in to watch, but the big angry Sheraton guards would have none of it. Oh well. Next year I'll have to participate instead of hanging out in the hallway! D*Con FTW!!

  • I was at this DragonCon dance. I am about 6 rows back from the guy dressed like Joker. I'm only visible for about falf a second, but you can see me.

This record-breaking wasn't easy to do. Each one of us had to rehearse the routine at least 3 times (I rehearsed 5 times). They had to get us into the ballroom in divided groups, and most of us were very hot and sweaty because it was a warm day outside.

  • thats awesome! AND they are all cosplaying which makes it like 100000x better! lolz awesomeness

DragonCon looks like a lot of fun!

  • I nearly fainted from exhaution from the dancing & sweating, but I stayed strong and was able to finish the whole performance! I did this for Michael!

  • I know that makes it even better! Silhouette, Joker, Jack Sparrow, Coraline, Sookie...lots that I'm forgetting. But yeah. Made of win!

  • OMFG I cant even get my school o shut up! Impresive!

  • that's really amazing and so funny.

  • this is amazing!

  • haha, I was just hanging outside the door when that was going on. still awesome though

  • i want to ask sth. why did u do it so earlier? on 24th october people from all over the world did this dance together. you might also join that event?? and 905 people is a good number for world record. i couldn't get the point why u did the same event earlier than its original time? please give an answer ..

we danced with world on 24th october, it was really awesome and it was meaningful.

  • This was planned BEFORE your event. In fact, this was being planned BEFORE Michael's untimely death. Also, this was a different world record. THis took place a Dragoncon in ONE room with many people congregated in one area for one time only.

  • ok thanks for your answer.

  • What a waste of white.

  • lol 2:30 3:01 its funny lol

  • FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER!!!! Omfg I want that costume!!! Kick ASS!

LOVE the Thriller dance btw, good job everyone in the video!! :P

  • FSM FTW

  • Most of them didn't even know the actual steps and it wasn't even the right part in the music. I guess it was a nice attempt though...

  • No, most of them did know the steps. It's not Broadway, you know. :)

We did it with the single, so we had to repeat steps throughout the six minutes. We didn't do the video. We followed Guinness guidelines.

And you're damn straight it was a "nice attempt". When you get 900 of your closest friends in one room, teaching most of them the dance in two hours, then you'll see how amazing it was.

  • y r those people dressed up like tht

  • And there was someone who came as a Firefly/Serenity 'hand of blue' who put on a silver sparkly glove for the event! And all the Jayne hats!

  • im faving this. :D

  • yay for the hunter in front. but wheres the guy in the Micheal Jackson outfit to lead the dance??

  • He was up on stage :) - this cameraperson didn't turn around and shoot the whole stage, but he's visible on our official video and a few other angles that are floating around youtube.

  • I enjoyed doing this with at dragon con. Even if we do or don't break the record everyone had a blast!

Thanks Michael J. ,Vincent Price, Kimber, organizers and team leaders for an awesome song, An awesome dance and a awesome good time!

I was in the back in the white shirt with the king's crown near cookie monster-you can also see me in the dragoncon cheering vid. Thanks! :D

  • very very very very good.thi si fantastic

  • Mexico City has the record, 13,945

  • Not official yet. And since most people in Mexico City attempt did not dance the whole song, Guinness might not count it.

  • I heard they danced to the wrong song XD

  • It's being contested now. They didn't follow the same guidelines that Willliam and Mary, Leicester, or we followed, and it's their own guidelines!

  • ROFL! Spaghetti Monster AND The Burger King (dressed as Elvis)! That was awesome!

  • I was in the back and you can't see me...thank god cause I was bad..lol...but this was the most fun I have ever had at the Con and totally want to do it next year!

  • Cheshire Cat at 3:15 here. :D

  • lagoonguy, did these people have thriller ribbons? You had to have a thriller ribbon to get in even with a con badge. The thriller ribbons had numbers on the back to count the people.

  • Had a blast doing this! Thanks for the experience!

  • That was so much fun! I was the Hunter front and center.

  • I'm in pink at 3:19. I had a blast.

  • I was to the left of the alien. I had a blast. I brought my 80 yr old mom with me, and she wants to come next year in costume.

  • My bf and I are somewhere in the right middle. Anway, it was great fun, and thanks to all the instructors who taught me this dance in an hour. Yay, I hope we get the world record.

  • For me, that was the highlight of Dragon*con. That was the most fun I had in years there! If we did it or not, it was still fun! So just saying, congrats and thank you to everyone who joined in and made Dragon*con 09 a blast!

  • I was trying to find the alien...couldn't locate him. Also, the giant glove was super!

I want to be in something like this. If it gets approved, do you guys get all of your names in the Guinness Book or are you known collectively as a group?

  • I think the original organizer and the group is put up there. Honestly, Guinness isn't very clear on it, but somewhere it will say DragonCon.

  • Brilliant! Wish I could have been there!

  • I was part of this too... Sooo awesome!!

  • some nerd made a hunter costume

  • Comment removed

  • I'm sure we had more than 900 there. I know plenty of unofficial participants (those who didn't want to pay for the dragoncon badge) snuck in

  • at the last count, there were 903 people!

We totally beat the record! ^_^

  • The problem with that is, if you didn't have a badge or a ribbon with a number count, you were not counted. So any extra dancers we had, who snuck in, were not counted... which sucks. But 903 is enough to beat William and Mary (242) and England (475). Just gotta wait for Guinness to confirm it.

  • well at the same time, there were people WITH badges that had the doors shut on them, so it was all kind of a clusterf***k --- i mean i was a trooper and 3 troopers right behind us had the doors shut on them, and they were at the practices. It's tough handling that many people, but we easily could've had more in the room.

  • Sorry, we had over 900 people in the room and it only fit 1,000. Fire marshals and all that. Pesky laws.

  • Possibly, but if they weren't on the log, they weren't counted.

  • Just because you are a dancing zombie doesn't mean you have to dance like a zombie...

  • This is great! I too can say that I participated in this! (I was the girl dressed as Coraline with the yellow jacket in the front.) I will so do this next year.

  • Cool, but what does Caroline have to do with zombies?

  • The same thing that the Alien, Elvis Burger King guy, the giant hand, the other Coraline there, and several others had to do with it.

It is just what our costumes were when we did the dance. :/

  • Awesome! I was so proud to have participated in this! Can't wait until next year when we can break it again!
