Brilliant! At first I was considering giving this a miss because of the length but it had me on the edge of my seat all the way through, @hany6432 has some great points about the film, but what I like is the constant interpretations and judgements you're made to feel about certain people. I really liked this, thanks :)
This is very good! It's a good interpretation of a situation you might find yourself in if you don't take care. There is a lot of bad and ugly in the world and it's do easy to get involved and trapped in it. She is this sweet innocent bride that's smitten by this handsome foreigner and shes basically fallen hard for someone she knows very very little about. Shes let her safety and innocence completely open to be hurt and ruined by this horrible man, which has left her alone and in danger on the
2. The place is promiscuous (kissing / transvestite / couple in car), being there suggests he was "meeting some1"
3. The couple in the car had the same color one door mercedes, he was anticipated to be in it, but he was having sex somewhere else, (hence the phone call in the car?)
4 the truck guy was trying to protect her, what he said about the people "outside" was true.
5. dropping her short of the car - he will leave her again
With who is she dancing? Is not his husband because her husband has a watch ... I really like this short movie.. it's like i'm in it ..somehow, i get all the fellings!! but it left me really depressed (and i also don't understand everything that the man of the truck says..
I think I get it but not sure in the end the guy carries her half way to the car knowing he can't commit he leaves her half way standing wondering when he he will commit is this about commitment ?
Wow, I really don't get this. The guy's an asshole... Is that it? What's going on at the end scene? Is there something to this that I'm missing, besides it being horribly depressing?
What a wanker! From the Very 1st Minute! He doesn't even know I Spy! Great Farther He'll be! And then the violent reaction when she turns the Radio off! And practically telling her to get lost for a while so he can go & ???.
And at the end of it, apart from the Fact that he left her ALL Bloody Night(!), he only carries her for a short while, & not all the way to the Car. It's as if he expects her to live in his world! The only bit I didn't get was the creep in the Truck. Was he goin2 Rape her?
amazing. the whole scenario only makes the mistake of her marriage all the more collossal. im left with a sickening feeling, full of confusion. i feel like she would. just as i did throughout, constantly terrified.
ohmygoodness, my stomach was in full lurch mode from the start. I just wanted to hug the bride :( I felt like it was happening to me as I was watching this.
i think this movie leaves a lot of people dissatisfied because there isn't any closure in the end; it leaves the viewer empty and feeling like they wasted their time.
...but then, that may have been what the director intended...
happiness became to the despair and illusions became a nightmare. and naivety may be the worst gift when we meet the reality. I disagree with comments "nothing happens here".
I think this could of benefited from an extra 5 minutes at the start and 10 at the end in Respect to the clarity of the story. But from what i see by the reactions at key points in the script. Bigamist may be the least of her worries.
many people here are giving this film a bad name. they obviously did not understand the movie. and callig this film anti-men is just nonsense. like one user said here before she is a puppet without a master and has a very childish, maybe even limited point of view, falling for the wrong guy ending up that miserably. and the dance scene just proves that. through the unexplained story the viewer gets an inside view of the woman's personality and is lured around the presented world. piece of art
imho, this is one fine piece of cinematic art, you can watch several times io. to explore alternative perspectives from different angles: there are several points of view with each character's backstory or priorities and everyone's reality or imagination makes crime / intrigues / cold feet / doubt / fear / panic / nightmare / shock / paranoia / (after) death, actually possible, hence: a great mystery !!
there are indeed different points of view.. and Dawn, with a very child-like perception of surrounding world and people is having a great lot of trouble.. well everyone is different... looked as if she faced the people for the first time..
Yeah left me a little confused. Like what the hell did her husband HAVE to do that was so important! And why was the car gone when she went back to the carpark. Like why would you leave your newlywed... Didn't make sense to me... ive seen better from futureshorts
personally this video was a waste of my 30 minutes. i was hoping the end would tie it up but no it was just really stupid. i think you could conclude the guy is a douche in less of the time
I get the film, but for me personally it didn't quite fit right, there was a definate uncomfortableness for the viewer, which no doubt was intended, but still, I didn't warm or sympathise with her character. Interesting, but didn't quite do it for me I'm afraid.
Some powerful scenes. Would make a great 20 min. short. Clunky metaphors (personal dislike, most films) but overall thought provoking and very edgy. Husband, lorry driver, bloke in car bonking, drunk lads - hmmm wonder if the writer has a man issue???? Well expressed if so. Overall...very good inc. Z-Cars ending (loose ends not tied up).
A bit drawn out, & leaning toward fetishist, but solid metaphors, & good performances, can't say I appreciated the cinematography though. It's too distorted, even forgiving that it was intended to convey the chaos of her situation
The comments don't do this video justice. It is serious and, I think, very real in so many ways. So many unpleasant ways. At the end it's clear that this is a really tough decision for her.. she doesn't have lots to fall back on. It's real that going with this guy could look to her like her best option. Scary.
i was disappointed that absolutely nothing was explained at the end.. It was was of those stories that needs an ending and explanation to explain all the complexity that happened and there was nothing.. its like only publishing a book when its 90% complete.
@inmepete what explantion do you need? the guy used to get citizenship and didnt care about her andthe scene at the end symbolic, him leaving her just standing there, alone. it's simple story, really, what more do you need to know
Wonderful acting and cinematography. I got sort of confused when she saw the two people in the car making out. I got that he was supposed to look similar to her husband, but it left me half thinking it was him in that car! I was confused at times too, but overall I loved the story idea!
Super weird story... He leaves her then comes back and no explanation as to what he was doing? Ughh.... Future Shorts is notorious for those types of stories I guess.
I didn't understand well the ending because it's a bit weird but I liked this film in general. The actress was awesome and the actor played either nice, even so nice that I would punch him for what he've made her to endured. Such an experience should make her to think once again of what sort of person her husband is. A good film & a good work.
In my opinion it's way too sexist and they make women appear stupid, feelings driven, irrational, emotional. Sometimes it can be like that, but actually what kind of idiot disappears for so long on his wedding day? I would be worried too.
kinda didn't make any snse till the closing scene, not in a surreal way either. and felt kinda badly made. allthough that final scene made up for everything and could possibly cut it on it's own. very powerful ending. liked it :)
Do people seriously need to be given a clear meaning in a film in order to appreciate it? Some people need to learn to make their own judgements and not rely on being spoon fed all the time.
what a load of shit!!! Some of the videos on Future Shorts are really good, have a meaning and are cleverly put together in a way to make you think about what is happening, in most cases it's about general life, this however has an unclear meaning and leaves me wondering what the message is meant to be. Apart form lorry drives being pedos, and people you think you may know, you may not know at all!!!
hmm.. i like it. maybe because of the atmosphere. I always wanted some kind of "we are meant to be together, our names are like...". For me its like a warning, cause i tend to trust the person i love very much, maybe a little too much...
Excuse me but what on earth was the point of this film? I sat through every minute expecting that it would all come together by the end but it didn't. It seemingly has no message or overlying issue. The only thing I can gather from it is that people are rotten. I really hated the bridesmaid. The film revolves around her belief that marriage is pure, but at the same time she hasn't even established a basic trust with her husband
@MorganStack If she is in this situation why doesn't she gather her emotions and tackle the issue. Another thing that really irritates me is her blatant staring. You can't just stare at people like that. That is not right.
@MorganStack I believe that the film showed everything that a couple go through before deciding to get married and all the doubt that comes with it (e.g. a stag night which was represented by the drunken men) in one night after the decision had been made and maybe it was her reflecting on the whole ordeal. Also I believe it explored the concept of abandonment and what people will do in those situations, but thats just my opinion.
I didn't fall in love with it and at the same time It was watchable. I fast forwarded through a few parts that were too long. I watched it in 18 minutes. One thing the piece did really well for me was put me there in the moment. There were some very tense moments that were very tangible. These moments could have been achieved in a wee bit shorter time, perhaps a re-edit would move things along. It was weird and I was left without closure, I've watched worse.
The plot is poor, uninteresting. Also, some of the shots are purely done just to satisfy, perhaps the director or someother amerture video maker's excitment of having a 5d mkii.
Waiting for every line to be delivered wassuch a pain, on top of that, very few lines actually helped to develop the story as it was progressing.
@olizk for the first time... I agree with this kind of comment. I do not think this is interesting and YES I did watched the entire video. 30 minute's long.
I don't really got the point and on top of that what are you suppose to think after seeing this?

1. The guy married her to get the passport 15:54
2. The place is promiscuous (kissing / transvestite / couple in car), being there suggests he was "meeting some1"
3. The couple in the car had the same color one door mercedes, he was anticipated to be in it, but he was having sex somewhere else, (hence the phone call in the car?)

I Like it but i have some points..
I'm not a critic or anything i just like short movies:
4:00 it was raining while the guy's suit and hair are totally dry...
5:55 coffee cups are empty and she can't act drinking it...
17:40 the phone call was so stupid! no emotions nothing! she didn't even ask where is he?
20:55 what the.. ? do u call that an accident ??
25:03 " I just went to do somethings" ?? what the heck? this is so poor scene scenario!
Ending.... hmmm i dunno im just not satisfied..
joe83alone 2 years ago
if the director wanted you to know where the husband was he would. hence the "i had to do some things".
she displayed no emotion on the phone because the man beside her was possibly going to rape her.
there wasn't an accident she passed out.
his hair is dry? did you touch it? how do you know exactly how long he's been outside? maybe it isn't raining...
the cup is empty? perhaps she was going for that last sip which shows she's been waiting a while. not a huge issue.

Perfectly entitled to your opinion. I probably forced upon my own opinion too heavily.

The acting was good.
Just poor script , poor directing.

@olizk for the first time... I agree with this kind of comment. I do not think this is interesting and YES I did watched the entire video. 30 minute's long.
I don't really got the point and on top of that what are you suppose to think after seeing this?
the scripts are just too poor like olizk said.
