Even if you strip away his citizenship, I still think the rights that I value for myself are applicable regardless of nationality. Were that not so, I'd have no grounds for demanding them even as an American citizen. In other words, my rights don't come from the U.S. Constitution; that's just where some of them are written down. My rights come from the virtue of being human.

The Bill of Rights is not a privilege of American citizens. The BoR has value because it should be enjoyed by all people. Even if you strip away his citizenship, I still think the rights that I value for myself are applicable regardless of nationality. Were that not so, I'd have no grounds for demanding them even as an American citizen. In other words, my rights don't come from the U.S. Constitution; that's just where some of them are written down. My rights come from the virtue of being human.
