Seeing as how there is no English language version of the "polka polka" scene from Home Alone, can you isolate those scenes for us? I would love that...
RiP john. No one can ever equal your presence. John candy was alone one of the greatest part of the 70s and 80s. It was said he was the kindest man and genuinely a kind and caring person. We love you john!
This isn't fair, why do we have the greatest people taken away from us? John Candy was inspirational to me throughout his career, loved every single one of his movies that i've watched, why can't god just get rid of the bad people like murderers or rapists and people like that :( Rest in peace. You were my idol, i'll never forget you. Love you John Candy! <3
i miss john too. kind f'ed up again. back to booze afta 5 mos clean. i hate it but i went out 3 times in this month. i feel no better but worse. i do it cuz i'm lonely livin w/ my sis,two kids 13/11. i luv em but i need someone in my life. not a girl from a bar. it's like everyone has some1 but me. i know bac to AA for me. got to start over.
He was and still is the funniest Actor I've ever seen.I still never miss seeing any movie with him on T.V.God bless you John for giving everyone a good reason to smile and laugh.
17 years today since the laughter stopped, RIP John Candy, you will always be alive in the fans hearts and your respect will live on, see ya soon, buddy!
Just watched Planes, Trains and Automobiles - my favourite comedy. John Candy was a great comedic actor. I remember bunking-off school to watch PTA in the late 80's. To watch him brings back so many funny moments. RIP JC
John Candy, the world still misses you more than ever, brother. Words cannot describe how I feel about how much joy and happiness you brought to the world. Your movies like Uncle Buck and Home Alone (just to name 2) were part of my childhood. Every movie you were in is an instant classic. Stripes, Brewsters Millions, Who's Harry Crumb?, and the rest of your movies are just a few of my personal favorites. Thanks for making me laugh, big man, 'cause the good Lord knows I need 'em in my life. :-)
there was true meaning behind this mans work as a comedic actor he has that "it" factor that lacks in todays entertainment world...RIP john keep em laughing up there
John Candy always reminded me of a guy my mom used to date when I was young. He was a tool, but for some reason I have always looked at John Candy as someone I knew and loved. This makes me sound like a huge pussy but I still almost cry at the end of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles when this song is on.
I remember the day he died like yesterday. I'd been to see an ice-hockey match in Sheffield (UK). We'd called at McDonald's on the way home. We parked up to eat our food. My dad put the radio on and we heard he'd died. Daft as it sounds, I don't think any of us actually ate all our food. I don't think it was fear of heart disease or anything. I think we were just gobsmacked and somewhat saddened. Barely a word was said on the way home. That's the magnitude this big fella had! RIP Mr Candy!
The final image in Uncle Buck is the greatest unintentional tear-jerker. Just the image of him smiling and waving back gets me to break down every time.
@rebalgemini He had a massive heart attack in his sleep while in Durango mexico where he was in a movie being made, It was finished without the actual john candy some how.
Has it been 16 years already? I still miss you John, comedy genius. You will always be my 'Del Griffith the shower curtain fella'. I can never watch the last few minutes of Planes, Trains and Automobiles, I always wuss out and make an excuse to leave the room!!
Man, this song played at the end of "Trains, Plans and Autmobiles". It literally brought tears in my eyes. John Candy ROCKS! There can be none other than him. He's the only one! RIP a great legend. Make God Laugh in Heaven!
I wasnt even born in the candy era, but i was still devastated when my parents told me he had died after i had watched a few of his films. He is my favourite actor by far and a truely, genuinely nice guy. In the words of Bill Hicks, 'Rest in Peace; make God laugh'.
Fat guys trying to be funny usually aren't,but you couldn't help but love John.A very special, warm, sincere and most importantly funny guy.A very moving tribute.
@TampaRed I won't remember the shock, when it came on the news in early 1994, apparantly, he had just been working film that sadly he never saw released, so, so sad.

I can remember when I heard he died aswell, i was only 8 years old at the time, i was in the car with my dad and heard it on the radio. John and his movies were a big part of my childhood, i still love them today.
@97channel I won't hard to believe it was 16 years ago, to this day though when i watch any of his films, just makes you think of the career he should of had, it was really flourishing, before his untimely death.
No matter how you try to make it seem like john candys death just wasnt that big a deal, it will always be remembered as the death of a legend who didnt deserve to die. Who had a heart of gold and prunes and made the world smile one witty comment, funny joke or weird way of acting at a time.
Just watched Planes Trains and Automobiles with the family after Thanksgiving (Family Tradition) I swear I laugh a bit harder each year! So Thankful for the timeless humor this man left the world! Also reminds you to take care of people and help them if you can. ;)
i miss this man so dearly u make me smile everytime i see your face im glad i can still watch your films because of this it seems like you are still here and it never get old i hope one day i can meet you as a person you are very special and i hope you can read my words where you are now god bless you r.i.p.xxx
Funny. I am actually watching Unlce Buck on TV as I am writing this. I am 35. Grew up during the John Candy era. So I was lucky to see all his films up on the big screen. Where he is supposed to be seen.

Hey thanks for the Honor and Respect to John Candy. I worked with him in "STRIPES"(he got his hair cut right before I did and we have a few scenes together(the guy with the red bandana) and he was Great with me as a kid actor then on set in the army and off the set. I am still touched to this day by having met him. Blessings to you all who have been touched, posted and commented well about him. He Still Shines!
Peace, Love and Light that we shine on others while here as John Did!!!
Does anyone still remember Mr. Messenger from "Mrs. Falbo's Tiny Town"? It was an SCTV skit from the early 80's I used to stay up late to watch in grade 7. Look it up on YouTube, that is what I will always remember from the great Mr. Candy. Made me laugh for decades, now he entertains the angels for eternity until we meet once again. Thanks for leaving these memories with us until that day John.
:50 its BARF hahaha John Candy made everyone laugh. He is missed even until this day. Dont worry we will all see him again someday. He is in heaven making people including god laugh with his great movies... :) RIP Mr Candy
I remember watching his movies when I was a kid and I was always wondering what hapend to him It wasnt until 2 years ago that I find out he died ...big shock
Yes and a Great Family Man as well. He and Warren Oates(who passed around the same time in the 90s) kept me afloat during the wild filming of "STRIPES". He inspired me to be a better person and actor. Blessings to Him and You as well.
tragically he is dead. he was such a good actor. i didnt know he was dead till last year. he tragically died from a severe heart attack (aged 43.) at least he didnt die of drugs overdose. he did use drugs though only to loose excess weight. rip mr candy
Great song for John. Great tribute. He deserves them all. At least he didn't pass on from a drug overdose like alot of them do. Everyone says he was a good man. God Bless u John!

I was always fond of Delirious. No one ever seems to talk about that one, but it was always one of my favorites. Very funny movie.

No matter how you try to make it seem like john candys death just wasnt that big a deal, it will always be remembered as the death of a legend who didnt deserve to die. Who had a heart of gold and prunes and made the world smile one witty comment, funny joke or weird way of acting at a time.

Funny. I am actually watching Unlce Buck on TV as I am writing this. I am 35. Grew up during the John Candy era. So I was lucky to see all his films up on the big screen. Where he is supposed to be seen.

Peace to your family sir.

Yes and a Great Family Man as well. He and Warren Oates(who passed around the same time in the 90s) kept me afloat during the wild filming of "STRIPES". He inspired me to be a better person and actor. Blessings to Him and You as well.
