I am not Catholic but I always had a huge amount of respect for Pope John Paul II. He was a man of the people, and interesting to note that he was an incredibly fit man throughout his sixties before succumbing to that dreadful disease Parkinsons. Him, together with Margaret Thatcher and Queen Elizabeth II, will be remembered as one of the most significant figures of the twentieth century.

He'll always be known as the travelling Pope, he visited more countries then any other Pope. he reached out to the common people, not stuck away in the Vaticum in Rome. He was a real man of the people, God bless him!
