I won't be able to make the rally. I'm working this weekend for the very establishment that enables you to exercise your right to protest and provides your freedom. And I'm happy to do so. if I may add, all of Medved's arguments in this review are simply invalid:
a) The film is not anti-troops. De Palma says in interviews that he even pities the soldiers who lost their minds during this incident.
b) Angel Salazar, the decapitated soldier played by Izzy Diaz, did not take part in the rape. His death is not portrayed as "justice".
c) Medved claims this is the worst movie he's ever seen, yet it didn't even make the top of his Worst Movies of 2007. Now that is irony.

I've been reading Wikipedia's entry on this guy and I can't find anything in his education or background tha would elevate his opinion of any film beyond that of some fucker on the street. He didn't attend film school, and wrote political speeches before hosting Sneak Previews with Jeffrey Lyons.
He's just a typical righty with an axe to grind. Unfortunately, some of our soldiers are scary as hell people. I know from experience. He also believes in intelligent design, so there you go.

wow, now i can be a movie-reviewer, cause he obviously can't review movies from the right perspective.This movie is great. I study movies, I know a lot about movies. I never gonna trust Medved's reviews again. Like he never gonna see a De Palma-movie in the same way. It is about time Americans, make other movies than the God Bless America-movies, God Bless the troops and all that. This horrible action of the soldiers in the film, is based on a true story. The people deserve to know both sides.

This is a guy who gives raves to garbage like "The Flintstones" movie, because it's good for "family values", but continuously slams films by directors like Scorsese and Stone. I'm in the army and I've been to Iraq, and I'm about to go again soon. I think the movie was an acurate depiction of how soldiers are. By that way I do say soldiers, as in not Marines, this movie is about the army, not the marines, I don't know why he thought this movie was about Marines. Did he really even see it? I don't think soldiers are brain washed but every solider is different, some are crazy and do bad things, not all just some, I don't see why that offends him, its true.
