  • Some people (like this customer) are amazing. I can understand why this customer was frustrated with the service. I too have service with Comcast and consider it unsatisfactory service. The cable guy falling asleep on the couch is uncool, the customer should have had a little empathy for the technician.. The customer is a drama queen and threw the poor tech under the bus. Going as far as putting the guy on the news was just wrong. Maybe one day the customer will get a taste of his own medicine.

  • @MultiGooooooooooooog I had Comcast internet for two months, and in that time I went through four modems because Comcast doesn't realize that you can't use refurbished modems indefinitely. I switched to AT&T DSL and never had a problem again.

  • we just switched to ATT Uverse. we get much better customer service and our internet is constant. (optic fiber)

    and I can stream all my videos and play games with no lag, and were using slower internet connection than we were with comcast (6mbps) were gonna upgrade soon.

  • I have to say that I am a Installation Technician and that is NUTS! I install Time warner, I first show the customer the work order get payment, do my oustide work and do my inside work and I replace any lines that need to be working and TEST the lines to make sure its a good signal strength. Time warner, Speaks for itself! Comcast oh geez! Im sorry to hear that.. He is a disgrace, Im thinking "hey buddy get a redbull!" The guys sounds like a prick!

They told me nothing was wrong for 2 years. 50 visits. Everytime they came out, it was "fixed". FINALLY, they re-wired everything and it i havent had a problem since. This was just a month ago.

  • Customers usually have the heat on 90 in the house all of the windows are closed..we have to phone into CAE and get placed on hold and sometimes its hard to keep your eyes open. Anyway..you should have offered him a glass of cold water instead of kicking him out so that would explain why he didnt fix anything..Inside the truck I'm sure he had to call his supervisor and CAE to cancel the job but a customer doesnt know about that. What the tech did was wrong but you werent any better.

I used to work for comcast as a tech support rep in Monterrey mexico, and as in any company there are bad employees and good ones.

  • Hell. After 2 or 3 techs, call the corporate office if the problem isn't resolved. Corporate will contact the city manager who will tell the area supervisor who will send a tech who does care. No you don't have to put up with it, but instead of bitiching the whole time, do something about it.

  • First of all, let me just say that I am a technician for Comcast and it is a GREAT company. I had Comcast for 10 years before I started working for them and never had to have a technician come out to my house ONCE in that entire 10 years except to initially hook me up. To blame an entire company for one ignorant, lazy employee in a company that employs MILLIONS is absolutely ludicrous. You should be ashamed of yourself.

  • Eventually yes, here in the Houston area. But I'm not sure how long it will take to upgrade our fiber optic networks.

    As of right now, the standard internet package here is 6Mbps down, with an option for 8. We will eventually be increasing speed up to about 10-12Mbps down, possibly even higher.

    The upgrade will take place possibly by the end of this summer. If not then, it will certainly be done by the end of the year.

    In some areas like Chicago and other cities, Comcast is already using the DOCSIS 3.0 interface.

    (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification)

    The speed on those lines are insane, anywhere from 20 to 50Mbps. In Chicago, Comcast offers a 50Mbps package for $140 a month.

    The price seems ridiculous, but compare that to the standard 6Mbps package, which costs about $40. The price may be 3 times higher, but the connection is 8 times faster!

    Not to bad of a deal overall.

  • Let me let you in on a little secret. I get 18Mbps down. FREE! This is over twice as fast as the speeds we offer to our customers.

    Only employees can take advantage of this. I'm a network administrator, so believe me, I have some connections. :-P

    I also have a few friends hooked up with this shit. As well as free cable. If Comcast found out about it, they'd probably fire my ass.

    So let's not mention anything else about it. Forget I even said anything. LOL. :-)

  • We switched from Comshit to WildBlue satilite internet, Comshit destroyed our internet and TV connection. They are by far the worst ISP in the country if not the world.

If a company hires more people to work, there wouldn't be people that have to worked a 12 hour day and then go back out at 4am. If they hired more CSRs people wouldn't have to wait on the phone for 2 hrs. God people, it's common sense

  • this guy got his cable cut afterward because he got the cable guy fired for doing his job. he was sitting out in front of the house on the phone because he was waiting for the in-house to let him know the levels are okay to pass quality inspection so they have the proper levels to get the damn cable to the house.

    I don't work for comcast but i am a cable contractor and have spent hours on the phone waiting to get through to make sure people get their damn cable/phone/internet... even at 2 am.

  • I'm a Comcast tech I can tell you 80% of my trouble calls are customers fault. Ive seen everything from bad cable in the home. Comcast guarantees 12" past the ground block just like the other utilities phone electric gas. Ive seen customers run cable from splitter to slitter to splitter to modem then when we tell them they need a line they try to blame us for there crappy wiring. Ive seen modems unplugged PCs full of virus,s slow processors windows 95-98 But its always our fault. get real.

  • i had roadrunner in southcarolina and it was fast it was a speed demond i downloaded ubuntu in 2 mimiuts and we didnt even pay for faster downloads, the bad thing is the customer service was horable they wouldnt help with nothing. so when we moved we switched to at@t its slower but the service is awsome on every little problem they came out and fixed it and fixed it every time and didnt charg us for it

I get calls every single day where some asshole says "there's an outage in my area" I can see your goddamn modem signal, and guess what?! Everytime the modem is 100% online with a full signal. I tell this to the customer and they say "well, my router is fine, it says it has a full signal" me-"Hello dumbass!!!! if the router has a full signal, then it's the routers fault!!" I fucking hate routers so bad!!

  • Because the router gets the signal from the modem. So if the router has a full signal, that means the modem has a full signal and the router is assigning an invalid ip address to the computer causing it to be offline. I would say more than 98% of the time this is the case, or the router needs to be troubleshooted to figure out why it won't connect

  • I have a xbox 360 sharing internet with my computer via LAN adapter. My ping, at night is always low. comcast told me to get a router. Even if i not using the xbox 360 my speed falls almost everyday now. Right now I'm watching this video and its buffers every minute, I'm paying for 6mbs what the hell. Speed test you ask 1070mbs down 728 up some times lower but the first time i did it, it was 7mbs down.

  • You are a whiner! If you hate it so much then cancel it. Comcast never makes you sign a contract unlike companies such as Direct TV, Dish, Qwest, etc etc. If you hate Comcast so much, then leave. The company will not have to deal with your crap any longer.

  • i am literally on hold with comcrap right now. i have been waiting for 40 minutes. my cable modem has gone down four times in two weeks. i am on DSL right now but paying 70 bucks a month for my cable modem.
