That's a pretty awesome video. I wonder how many of the people in that video decided to settle in Austin for the rest of their lives. It's a wonderful place to live!
I see at least two black people. One looks like a vendor and the other is a woman looking at a shirt. There was no effort made either to include or exclude anyone based on race or gender. I was simply taking photos of my friends on the Drag.
They probably were Matt's since I left home with them in 1975 long before you'd have had a chance to grow up listening to them. I see you are also a fan of Al Stewart which I did introduce to the family because my friend Raymond always played it in his dorm room.
I remember music from 1973, especially Al. But you just turned my memories up-side down again, as I thought Mark brought "Roads to Moscow" into the Ft Hood house. Well...I'll just say, 'thanks'!
The first time I saw the drag was the fall of 1977. It was a very cool place and so different from today. Almost nothing in Austin is the same as it was then except for the Broken Spoke, even the Hole in the Wall changed after Debbie and Jeff had to let it go. Brooks never changed though. He's still Brooks.

Hey man its cool. I wasn't trying to call you out. I was just pointing out the lack of African Americans at The University of Texas. It was a joke.

Refer to my previous post. UT is 6% African American. Its not ignorance just a joke stating the obvious you humorless ass.

I go to UT and I have exactly 3 black people total in all my classes put together. There are over 50 people in all of my classes.

2 vendors on the Drag stand out in my mind from that time.
One guy sold avocado sandwiches and the other sold wooden coffins that he had built.
