@tada9528 The lightning spear doesn't have a parameter bonus while the black knight sword does. I think its C for Strength and dex so if you have good strength and dex it'll be better to use the black knight sword but if you don't then lightning weapons would be better
every boss u defeat drops a golden soul or somthing, when u go to ur inventory, then to this golden item info, it say that u can either make a unique weapon or acquire many souls, my question is, when i use this item how many souls i'll get? and how i can make a unique weapon? can anybody help me?

@781RELLIK uhh head back down to blighttown if you can, behind quelaags room is her sister, she can upgrade your estus, just make sure you dont use the soul that you loot off of the Armor of Favor douche =P
I hate dying my first time through an area. If I do, I might get distracted down another path and lose what I had on me, I use that repeated soul collecting to level over time.
@Moremooremore Both are freaking weak! I don't know why, but mobs have huge resistance vs magic weapons. Pure physical does way more dmg. Magic/Miracles are better for support.
@Dragu1a Magic spells are pretty strong, though - I play as a sorcer (Int/Faith build - the only one I know of atm lol). I mostly ignore weapons for the most part; I just use them for a strategic advantage to poke the enemies away from me.
@Moremooremore They are strong indeed, but unlike Demon Souls, in this game there is a limit on number of spell casts, which makes it hard to play as a sorcerer.
I was trying to make a WoW retribution paladin type hero, but was strongly disappointed, cause pure physical weapons, as Black Knight Axe/Halberd were doing more damage, than my pimped holy weapons. Later I even switched to True Great Sword of Artorias. BKA still does more dmg. Spells are awesome, but they only can be used 4 support.

those snail guys arround the statue are great to fram, all you need is blow some Toxic Mist into them really fast as you get into the courtyard, and then just leave. In my case, I just run to the path leading to the exit across the courtyard, to farm the back Knight, who always dropd titanite chunk. In the middle of that fight, I start getting the sousl from the snails. In arround 4 minutes you get 7000 souls without using glitcxhes or tricking anyone off a cliff.
Even though i'm still trying to kill the Capra demon (he always starts the fight with that jump attack it really fucks me over) can i get the 3 pyromancies from the Chaos Servant covenant and keep them if i leave?
you know you can tell the mimics apart from normal chests by the chain on the right side. if it curls up its a chest, if it trails out toward you its a mimic.
Yo Epic...Is there any disadvantage to wearing mismatched armor? As far as I have noticed there is no bonus for wearing matching armor right? I have been wanting to rock a few different pieces but I feel like I am doing something wrong. Sure looks cool though.
@5150JamesA na there is no disadvantage except some of the stronger heavier armors like havels, smoughs, black iron, steel etc reduce your stamina recovery rate
If your estoc isn't doing much damage because it scales with faith then you should upgrade it to thunder or fire or something so faith no longer effects it.
Also, for the exploding toxin guys I found that backstabbing them is best. Your character will kick the guy far enough away so that they can't toxin you. Don't have to worry about how far you are and don't have to roll away quickly. Of course if you kick them into a wall and they can't go forward...
@TheGiantKiller8 the estoc isnt bad, i use it and its really good you just have to upgrade it. he upgraded to divine which just messes up the dex scaling on it, so it scales of faith, which his faith is low.
@MajorCholoReyes Yup. Actually, all of my stats are low. Strength is the highest... so I should use a different weapon, or change my Estoc. But, it doesn't matter anyway.
@MajorCholoReyes cool, but i think fromsoft wants players to transition to heavy-or high dps weapons (great axe, great swords, katanas) or if your a mage to heavy pyro/sorcery based attacks when you get to anor londo. Good luck trying to poke to death giant sentinels and Priscilla the crossbreed...
how much dmg does your estoc do? epics does 45 dmg :/
@TheGiantKiller8 i already killed her and a ton of sentinels. mine does around 75, not too good but i can hit constantly and behind a shield. i use estoc for normal enemies, and another for minibosses/bosses.
Epic it would be so cool if after your done with dark souls you could do a guide series for demon souls. I never played it but from what i've played of dark souls i was thinking of picking it up. These vids have been invaluable to me so would love you to do some for demon souls.

Epic, do you know what the purpose is of the fog gates that don't lead into a boss? or are they just for show? In demon's souls, I found them to raise tension, because I felt like something intimidating would be on the other side.
There is a trick to tell a mimic from a normal treasure chest. First of all look to see if its mouth is moving, obviously, the 2nd thing you can notice is the chain hanging off of the side of the box. If the end of the chain is facing towards you, its a mimic, if its pointing away the chest is safe
Epic, I know it is pretty rare, but moments like 5:20, Where you are out of stamina and about to take hits in rapid succession, Well, There is a miracle called Karmic justice, and It's a support AoE that if you take multiple hits fast, it explodes, dealing damage and knocking enemies away, it is very helpful if you get caught fighting lots of guys at once.
You can backstab those bulbous exploding buttholes. The backstab kicks them away and negates the toxic blood explosion. You've probably already passed this area but it's a good tip to share with others maybe in another video.
@TMB331 Chaos weapon is fire damage, but the damage is based on how much humanity you have, it caps at 10 I believe? Lightning is far by the best element for high damage. Since scaling sucks atm, waiting for the patch.
I hear people use the zweihander the most, it's fuckin brilliant weapon. I would suggest the zwei but the claymore has a stab attack unlike the zweihander, it depends on what you want to do.
just a hint. using the crossbow with the first shot is cool. but using it as the LAST hit for those poisoning monsters would be just logical, right...just cause i see u use the crossbow so often...use it properly ;-)
You know how you hit the wall with your weapon to lure enemies out? Why not just use your shield slam (the parry thing) on the wall so you don't break your weapon?
@LimeXLight The shield slam isn't really a solid attack so it just clips through walls. Or so I believe from trying to just plain out bump enemies a few times.
@xrsneirx Oh, I know for a fact it works on walls, that's how I get enemies attention. As for enemies, I does clip through them, I've only seen it actually hit an enemy once, but that could've been something else.
I Hate The drop Rate in this game for Ores. Farming is ridiculous, I have 60 Humanity+Covetous Gold Serpent Ring=410 Item Discovery, and it takes me 6 runs just to get 1-3 Ores. W. . . T. . . F. . . ! Thoughts on Velka's Rapier? Im Sorcery Build but it takes Twinkling Titanits. is the MAX LVL for it really +5? O_O
I think you get a bit more if you have the mimic helmet equipped, which in itself is a fucking rare drop (and i don't think there's any mimics that respawn in game)
That highly depends on where you are farming for your ores. The knights in the final area drop ores 100% and respawn. Good for red, white and blue ores. Twinkling only goes to +5, and cannot have any other upgrades.
I'm starting to warm up to the crossbow after watching your videos. If you put enough upgrades into one, those things can hurt, and you no longer have to worry as much about getting ganked.
The story is pretty much everything was good once, and then everyone got old. Things began to decay, and now someone is needed to relight the old fires.
As far as armor goes... I was rocking the pyromancer starting gear for a LONG time. It's got a ton of resistances, decent physical protection, and it matches well with slightly heavier pieces of armor. Now I run Eastern Armor with the thief's hood, and the rest is warrior armor. Fuckin' badass.
U can also trade that last item to snuggly the crow for drake scales. U drop one leave and then drop another one b 4 u pick it up and u can spam as many as u want to trade.
Gotta say, I know what you mean about the detail of this game. It's in there from the textures used to create the levels to the interactions with the NPCs to the way you can turn your character to direct your melee attacks up until the last moment.
Hell, I want to do a run as a human with as much humanity as I can get just to see how the NPCs respond.

hmm. i am doing a third run through myself atm, and trying the giant weapons. atm the hammer off the tutorial boss. while i am sure you have no shortage of things you can try, i will say it is a very different playstyle.
off the bat i will say it is also inferior so far, but still very different and pretty challenging.
@jeremysaint I like the feeling of being just the normal soldier... maybe I have plain tastes. Strike that... I KNOW I have plain tastes haha. Bean Pole's armor does look awesome, though.
@EpicNameBro I love the Elite Knight armor fully upgraded. It's almost as good as Havel's set, sans poise and resists. They're all about half... but the physical defense is really close to Havel's set.
@EpicNameBro wow i am the exact same. not sure if you know anything about gundam seed but as an example i would rather have one of the normal stock suits instead of the gundams. another example would be in demon souls i friggen love the knights starting armor soooo much
Warrior armor+10 has little less physic defense then ornstein armor and little more spell defense, over all is the same except it has no poise. but is only half of ornstein armor's weight allow user to use super weight leg and arm such as the gaint/black iron/havel's set. Endurance after 40 wont gain any more stamina and with favorite ring we will have 88, i guess most people will want to mix their total weight lower then 44.
warrior set is consider heaviest set over "light weight" set, because it got no poise except the helm (+2 only works against arrow). the knight sets (black/silver/holy/ornstein etc) consider middle weight have around 40-50 poise (can withstand attacks other then heavy weapons) with 25-33 weight, and Black iron/giant/ havel/Smough'set is consider heavy weight with 90+ poise (can withstand most attacks)with 40-50 weight. when we want to melee we look at the poise but not defense.
@Zenaku222 Pretty nice analysis on the armor man! I haven't started calculating out what types of builds I want to use for PvP, but this is the same way of thinking that I will follow when I plan it out. Thumbs up bro!

IF you look to the right of a chest there is a chain, if the chain is curved into the shape of a C then its a normal chest. If it is broken and kind of straight then its a mimic.
if you stare at a chest for 15 to twenty seconds itll open about an inch or two to let you know its a mimic chest. A good way to be careful without having to go through an unnecessary battle.
@EpicNameBro Also, If you look at the chain to the right of the chests it will tell you. If the chain is faceing away from you its a good one. If the chain is pointing towards you, then smack that bitch with your estoc(dildo).
@EpicNameBro Another tip, for figuring out which chests are mimics, is to take a look at the chain on the right. They are positioned differently.. You guys might know this already..just a heads up =)

yeah that acid cloud is called Acid Surge, you can pick it up somewhere in that place, its a pyromancy. it degrades weapons and armor.

Epic, do you know what the purpose is of the fog gates that don't lead into a boss? or are they just for show? In demon's souls, I found them to raise tension, because I felt like something intimidating would be on the other side.

There is a trick to tell a mimic from a normal treasure chest. First of all look to see if its mouth is moving, obviously, the 2nd thing you can notice is the chain hanging off of the side of the box. If the end of the chain is facing towards you, its a mimic, if its pointing away the chest is safe

Epic, I know it is pretty rare, but moments like 5:20, Where you are out of stamina and about to take hits in rapid succession, Well, There is a miracle called Karmic justice, and It's a support AoE that if you take multiple hits fast, it explodes, dealing damage and knocking enemies away, it is very helpful if you get caught fighting lots of guys at once.

You can backstab those bulbous exploding buttholes. The backstab kicks them away and negates the toxic blood explosion. You've probably already passed this area but it's a good tip to share with others maybe in another video.

Can anyone tell me what chaos does to your weapon? And what element is best to put on your weapon if your going for high damage?

@TMB331 Chaos weapon is fire damage, but the damage is based on how much humanity you have, it caps at 10 I believe? Lightning is far by the best element for high damage. Since scaling sucks atm, waiting for the patch.
I hear people use the zweihander the most, it's fuckin brilliant weapon. I would suggest the zwei but the claymore has a stab attack unlike the zweihander, it depends on what you want to do.

You know how you hit the wall with your weapon to lure enemies out? Why not just use your shield slam (the parry thing) on the wall so you don't break your weapon?

@LimeXLight The shield slam isn't really a solid attack so it just clips through walls. Or so I believe from trying to just plain out bump enemies a few times.

@xrsneirx Oh, I know for a fact it works on walls, that's how I get enemies attention. As for enemies, I does clip through them, I've only seen it actually hit an enemy once, but that could've been something else.

I Hate The drop Rate in this game for Ores. Farming is ridiculous, I have 60 Humanity+Covetous Gold Serpent Ring=410 Item Discovery, and it takes me 6 runs just to get 1-3 Ores. W. . . T. . . F. . . ! Thoughts on Velka's Rapier? Im Sorcery Build but it takes Twinkling Titanits. is the MAX LVL for it really +5? O_O

I think you get a bit more if you have the mimic helmet equipped, which in itself is a fucking rare drop (and i don't think there's any mimics that respawn in game)

That highly depends on where you are farming for your ores. The knights in the final area drop ores 100% and respawn. Good for red, white and blue ores. Twinkling only goes to +5, and cannot have any other upgrades.

I'm starting to warm up to the crossbow after watching your videos. If you put enough upgrades into one, those things can hurt, and you no longer have to worry as much about getting ganked.

The story is pretty much everything was good once, and then everyone got old. Things began to decay, and now someone is needed to relight the old fires.
As far as armor goes... I was rocking the pyromancer starting gear for a LONG time. It's got a ton of resistances, decent physical protection, and it matches well with slightly heavier pieces of armor. Now I run Eastern Armor with the thief's hood, and the rest is warrior armor. Fuckin' badass.

U can also trade that last item to snuggly the crow for drake scales. U drop one leave and then drop another one b 4 u pick it up and u can spam as many as u want to trade.

Gotta say, I know what you mean about the detail of this game. It's in there from the textures used to create the levels to the interactions with the NPCs to the way you can turn your character to direct your melee attacks up until the last moment.
Hell, I want to do a run as a human with as much humanity as I can get just to see how the NPCs respond.

hmm. i am doing a third run through myself atm, and trying the giant weapons. atm the hammer off the tutorial boss. while i am sure you have no shortage of things you can try, i will say it is a very different playstyle.
off the bat i will say it is also inferior so far, but still very different and pretty challenging.

@EpicNameBro I love the Elite Knight armor fully upgraded. It's almost as good as Havel's set, sans poise and resists. They're all about half... but the physical defense is really close to Havel's set.

Warrior armor+10 has little less physic defense then ornstein armor and little more spell defense, over all is the same except it has no poise. but is only half of ornstein armor's weight allow user to use super weight leg and arm such as the gaint/black iron/havel's set. Endurance after 40 wont gain any more stamina and with favorite ring we will have 88, i guess most people will want to mix their total weight lower then 44.

warrior set is consider heaviest set over "light weight" set, because it got no poise except the helm (+2 only works against arrow). the knight sets (black/silver/holy/ornstein etc) consider middle weight have around 40-50 poise (can withstand attacks other then heavy weapons) with 25-33 weight, and Black iron/giant/ havel/Smough'set is consider heavy weight with 90+ poise (can withstand most attacks)with 40-50 weight. when we want to melee we look at the poise but not defense.

IF you look to the right of a chest there is a chain, if the chain is curved into the shape of a C then its a normal chest. If it is broken and kind of straight then its a mimic.

if you stare at a chest for 15 to twenty seconds itll open about an inch or two to let you know its a mimic chest. A good way to be careful without having to go through an unnecessary battle.
