WORD VOMIT: Tipping

i have to disagree with you on this one. i disapprove of the entire tipping tradition, especially in this country. In Europe the tip is automatically added to the bill, which gets rid of confusion and workers feeling shorted. And I have worked in a coffee shop before too

you get paid by your boss. so why do you need a tip? im in the united states marine corp and i dont expect a tip from you. and if they do a bad job serving me, your dam right im going to give them a penny tip!

@TheWirth95 that isn't the point. not all jobs are deemed tip worthy. you get wage/benefits in the marines that i do not receive as a barista. that creates a differentiation in your argument that cannot be made equatable to mine. yes, i do agree, if someone gives you bad service then by all means do not tip. but my conclusion is that society tends to snub all service employees based off the fact that a few bad ones have tainted the public perception of our trade. i never provide poor service.

I for one always make an effort if I tip to tip at least 10% of what I payed (Well, unless I get the most horrendous service or something <_<), so if it's like 2.99$, I'll tip around 30c or so, I think that's fair, right?

Either way, tipping like just a penny, not cool.
